Bought this with a new LG TV. * The eARC/CEC functionality between these two is terrible - takes several minutes if it works. * I can't (or haven't found how to) EQ the overall sound as there is no treble/bass knobs. * I tried the 8K upscaler but it makes it look much worse than whatever source is provided. * Because the new tv has all the streaming apps built in - this AVR is really just for sound. Most of the bells & whistles go unused in this receiver. * My predecessor Yamaha receiver is almost identical in functionality (without the latest Atmos, etc.) so I think any brand may have performed equal in my situation. To me its not much of an upgrade and I don't have any praises to sing for Denon, sorry.

Functioning well and has lots of features,however, it does run at a fairly high temperature.

Replaced 12 old receiver This was the best purchase of my whole sound system. 10 stars !

It was easy enough, albeit tedious to set up the hardware, but well worth it to enjoy its performance. I did have to turn off the hardware control on my SONY Blue Ray player to resolve some conflicts.

Purchased 3800h and received it next day, ran all my new speaker wire and mounted some rear speakers, opened up box and notice it wasnt in plastic, then notice it looked different then in picture, model on item showed 3700. Either someone at best buy pulled a fast one or someone put a refurbished one in a new box and i was the unlucky one to puchase. Best Buy Phone customer service was excellent which is why i put 3 stars, when i receive right receiver ill rate either 5 or lower depending on actually item. Im coming from a denon S960. Unfortunately i already unhooked it and not trying to plug everything back up

denon 3800 worked great for about 2 years. A couple weeks ago the speakers popped, it went into protection mode and had a burnt smell. Sent it in for warranty repair (got damaged during shipping it was just cosmetic so I paid to get that repaired) got it back yesterday set everything up and after about 5 minutes it did the same thing. Fedex denied my damage claim said denon had to send the claim. Denon customer service keeps saying they escalated it to higher ups. Havent heard anything. They said the same thing when it blew up the second time. Ill probably have to send it in for repair again and if it fails after then they might replace the unit with a refurbished unit even though i purchased a brand new one. Look at pioneers or onkyos stay away from denon. A google/facebook search will show these 3800s are failing. $1800 brick

Love this receiver. So far the set up and install went super easy. This was a great buy for the new home theater with Martin Logan speakers, Fire Cube, PS5 and my Dish receiver.

Absolutely a beast! Have it set up for 11.1 using atmos speakers and a 2 channel external amp for the two back speakers. Like having imax in my living room

We have had the Geek Squad out at least twice to adjust the sound and communication through our speakers. It is a bit complicated for our use. This last time we were told not to even use the Denon remote and just use the volume control on the TV remote.

bought it open box at a great price unit very good condition it has all the inputs i was looking for and more it replaces my old yamaha stereo which does not have cdmi inputs only rca

Works great except occasionally it’ll turn back on after I turn it off, then after about five seconds it’ll turn off again…

It seems to work. We have had some clunky installation issues and I still get message about something needing to be connected to the right port. However, the sound seems to work as advertised.

Upgraded from the Denon AVR-S960H. This new receiver is leaps and bounds better than the last last release. More inputs, but best of all 6 8K HDMI Inputs.
