    Stop working correctly after only 3 weeks. Instead of Bestbuy just replacing it, they sent it out for service. They should have just replaced it after only 3 weeks old.

    Buyer Be Aware, use all Denon or it won't work!

    This very expensive receiver is a complete waste of money. I purchased it to run all of my Bluetooth items, but I was in the middle of a move and just now am trying to get it to connect to everything, which it will not do. My other items are all Bose, and it won't talk to anything via Bluetooth except the TV, which is Samsung. If you buy Denon, you better make sure all your accessory items are also Denon, or you'll be up a creek, and I have of course missed the return window, so I am now the unhappy owner of a $1600 paperweight. Great.

    Issues with both the Denon Receiver and Best Buy

    This Denon Receiver stopped performing after 2 months. Good luck with getting it repaired by Best Buy. Still waiting to get it back after one month from turning it in.

    Was a good avr till it blew up. After the smoke cleared it would no longer turn on. This isn't even the worse thing. The Denon customer service is HORRIBLE. Going on 2 weeks and I still can't send it in for warranty repair.

    Hello, I ordered a Avr in the shop with European AC system 220v but they sent me a 110 American version.

      Hello. Sorry to learn you were not happy with with your order. Our authorized dealers in the US only receive models built for use in the North America (120V). This in part because our warranty is not valid if the AVR is used in a country other than the country for which it was built. denon

    A solid performer with updated UI and features

    There is incredible value in this receiver. If your thinking of a Denon model in 2023 you should stick with one like this that now has the new graphical user interface, has a paid upgrade capability to Dirac Live room correction which is superior to Audyssey, 4 subwoofer preouts with a new feature that lets you put a subwoofer in all 4 corners of a room and the bass output of channels on that side of the room will localize the bass out of the nearest subwooofer. This receiver also has 5 fully featured HDMI 2.1 inputs. Allows for you to set any and all channel pairs to pre-out only mode. Also has a 100% pre-out mode where it turns off all internal amplification. I give this receiver 4 stars only because Audyssey can be a bit of a pain to get things sounding great. It takes some work and tweaking. Dirac Live is a far better room correction and I’m glad it’s available as a paid upgrade in March of 2023. It will be worth it even though it’s a few hundred dollars extra. Otherwise this receiver really performs. It handles a 5.1.4 Auro 3D setup great. Auro 3D is so great to have and I prefer watching movies using Auro3D upmixer rather than Dolby Atmos. You could also use the 3800 as a fully featured preprocessor and externally amplify all channels. I have mine paired with an Outlaw 5000x amplifier and the added external amplification brings clarity and precision that is worth it. Denons run hot so always make sure you put them in well ventilated spaces with front and back open to ventilation. Would not ever fully enclose a Denon or any receiver. I returned the Denon 4700 to get this. It was a good move as the 4700 only had one modern HDMI 2.1 port and didn’t have the new user interface or other features like Dirac Live upgrade path.

    I have had 3 of these receivers and nobody is skilled enough to set it up with geek squad. They break often with normal use.

    Very impressive reciever

    For our system this AVR was a big step up from the $300 Onyko it replaced. Like many of you we upgrade components as time and money allows. R We are running Klipsch 8" tower speakers and quqd 5" center speaker, 5" surround and back speakers, and three 12" Klipsch subwoofers. We also have a Bill Fitzmaurice Tuba HT with a 15" Dayton driver i built that can produce sound waves down to the 12 HTZ range. The Denon avr ROCKS it!!! It has 4 subwoofer outputs and it provides outstanding clarity and response. Great channel separation, you will hear individual sounds coming from the speakers, such as an electric guitar coming from the left tower while vocals come from right and center. Clearly im no expert here but the sound is amazing, all our friends agree and want to watch movies and music videos on our TV!

    Denon, as always, knocking it out of the park. For it's pricepoint, prob one of the best receivers you can get. Capturing a full 9.2 surround, with easy manual or automatic set up. And when I had a question, Denon's customer support was excellent.

    Great Receiver with a 3 year warranty. Easy set up and lots of great features. The only thing i might wish for is an optical out port, but I can work around that. Highly recommended and future proof.

    This receiver replaced a worn out and old technology X7200Wa - which was Denon's Flagship 9 years ago. I could not afford the new Denon Flagship A1H so I took a look at the Denon X3800H because it was on sale for $1299.99. I am blown away by the capability and functions at this price point - the X3800H is loaded with new technology and works great

    Not compatible with Xfinity X1 cable box

    Sounds great with TV - pretty much useless for gaming. I bought the 3800 2 years ago as upgrade to older Denon 1600 unit. It had compatibility issue with Xfinity from day one. The unit causes my Xfinity cable box to crash and only a hard reboot can recover from the crash. Anyone familiar with Xfinity box will know that a hard reboot takes about 10 minutes to complete - so a major PIA. The crash is caused when switching between Xbox and Xfinity cable box. I had early call with Denon tech service - after several sessions, I was told that Denon could not resolve and maybe Xfinity would release an update to fix it. Now after 2 years of completely bypassing the AVR when using Xbox, I just tried again. Same issue. Xfinity has 15 million cable subscribers in the US. It's unbelievable to me that Denon released a product with this defect and after 2 years has not resolved it.

If you are not already, I recommend using a quality Ultra-High-Spped HDMI cable from a reputable brand like Audio Quest. I have not heard of any incompatibility issues with Xfinity boxes.
