I love the minions until this movie. They were not as cute or mischievous as other movies and that's the only reason I made this purchase 3D was very good

I'm not a fan of this movie I bought it to replace the one we had for my daughter to me it's boring and found no entertainment out of it.

This was very cute and entertaining overall. Like most cartoon movies, there were plenty of references that mainly adults could appreciate.

bought it b/c it was a cheap 3D movie. I really didn't think it was that funny

I rather dislike these corn nugget movies. At least the kid liked it.

When I got home and opened the DVD to play it, I was very surprised to find that the inside holder for the 3D DVD was missing! You could see where it had broken off. I immediately returned to the store and they replaced the item. I've never seen that before, but Best Buy did make it right.

I prefer that my kids see something more enlightening. The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins and other great ones. Ed

My students and I enjoyed watching this funny movie.

I'm always complaining about the lack of grown-up movies and the abundance of children's movies available in the Blu-ray 3D format, but today I find myself grateful for the imbalance as I never would have watched this movie if not for the lack of alternatives. Beyond having a thoroughly enjoyable plot laden with endearing characters and humor for all ages (some of which only adults will appreciate), this movie sports some of the best 3D currently available on the platform. Many of the 3D titles currently available suffer from image ghosting, but there were very few instances of ghosting in Despicable Me. This may be attributed to its lack of attempts at over-the-top "OH MY GOODNESS STUFF IS FLYING OUT OF MY TV" effects, but a true sense of depth pervades every scene and is much more enjoyable to this viewer than the ugliness that comes with such effects. On an unrelated note, there are some treats in this movie for you If you have a good sound system (particularly subwoofers that go below 20Hz). If you are lucky enough to have kids -and- a 3DTV, then you owe it to your family to buy this movie right now. Even if you have no children, this is a fun 3D super-villain romp that will reaffirm the wisdom of your 3DTV purchase. Note: I'd posted this review on the original 3D Blu-ray listing for Despicable Me but somehow that product no longer shows up in the correct category. I've re-posted my review here because at the moment there is only one other review and I strongly disagree with the one star rating.

2010 was a good year for animation! Despicable Me was excellent. The story is great - the characters seem so 'real' that you forget they are characters, let alone animated characters! I was a little put off at the beginning with the references to MSNBC - and the episode at the bank. So - it really had to work to get me back to even LIKING the movie. But I absolutely loved it. It is funny. It is sad. It is just well scripted and incredibly entertaining. I'd say it is better than How to Train Your Dragon (only because I don't like whoever voices Hiccup - wrong voice actor for sure) and better than Megamind as well. Considering I didn't think I'd like any of those three - I am surprised because they are some of the BEST movies I've seen in ages. Hated Toy Story 3's whole story. Enjoyed Shrek 4, it's WAY better than 3 when they killed Harold. But Tangled is probably my favorite of the year. This comes in second.
