The Mania - the first portable speaker from the French company, Devialet, known for their high-end speakers - is simply amazing! This smart speaker has incredible 360º stereo sound from a little 5 pound body. It connects via Bluetooth 5.0 or WiFi. When I’m home, I connect via WiFi if possible. I haven’t experienced any drops or stuttering. When I’m away from WiFi, the Bluetooth connection is very convenient and works seamlessly. Documentation shows the Mania is capable of 10 hours of play when fully charged and that charging should take about 3 hours. I fully charged this via the included USB-C power cube and USB-C cable when I first got it and played music on it for just a couple of hours and the next time I went to use it, it was dead. I went to charge it back up and it seemed to be taking forever, staying on the red LED indicating about 10% charge after 2 hours. I left it plugged in to continue the charge as I listened to Pandora on it via AirPlay from my iPhone. Unfortunately, it didn’t charge any further while listening. This good looking little speaker has spectacular full sound. It does have a lot of technology noted in the documentation that is completely over my head and I am certain those things vastly contribute to the sound quality. With the Devialet app, you are able to adjust the volume, check for updates, and access the equalizer which has adjustments only for the “highs” and “lows” with not very much change apparent. As it is, the sound is very full and turning the volume up to 50 inside my house sounded AMAZING - no distortion to be heard at all. This has 4 drivers and 2 subwoofers and surprising to me, the clarity is something I have never heard before. I can’t say enough about the sound that comes from this little speaker. This has Alexa built-in, and I have an Alexa home, but I didn’t find it necessary to have that feature here except for a few things like asking Alexa to play Spotify or Pandora via the Mania or turn up/down the volume. I don’t need it to add cookies to my shopping list. I have inexpensive Alexa devices that operate as my assistants. The Mania has push indentations for the simple controls: 3 on each side, such as power, volume up & down, bluetooth, battery status and track forward/pause. I have to say it is difficult for me to know which button to use for what because there is no lighting behind the indentations and the small icons on them are almost impossible for me to see as they are.The Mania has a very sturdy carrying handle at its top, protective rubber on the base and it comes with a protective bag which I very much appreciate. Valuables should be protected! The sound on the Mania Portable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi speaker is utterly magnificent! That cannot be denied. Yes, I have some issues with the speaker, but I got it for the sound and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting exceptional sound in a portable form-factor.

I know alot of people say its not worth it but it is if u have not heard devialet products i would recommend its worth it.

This speaker is Incredible!!! I've never heard such clean vocals and bass without distortion at any volume. If you have the money this speaker is totally worth it. You'll be amazed by the amount of sound and at high quality this little speaker can push out

Hands down the best portable speaker I have ever owned! Before owning this speaker, I had never heard of Devialet and after using this speaker for a couple of weeks, I am honestly in love with it and I am using it more than just a portable speaker. I am connecting my PC to it because the sound quality and volume level is excellent all around. Personally, I wasn’t too sure how I would like the handle on it because at first I thought it ran the risk of bending or getting wear and tear over time, but this speaker is seriously built strong that after putting it in my hands, that was no longer a worry. Here is a breakdown of my rating: Quality 5/5 Speaker feels heavy and built of quality. My only fear is dropping it because it feels heavy enough that one of the sides my dent. I am not going to drop tested to find out, but overall the quality is top notch. Best portable speaker I own! Sound 5/5 Straight out of the box I connected it with my phone and right away I knew I was dealing with a portable speaker like none of my other ones. I live in a townhome and I honestly did not put the volume all the way up because I was certain it could be heard by my neighbor. The volume is the best from any portable speaker I have own. Seriously, no comparison. Base is awesome. Voice is awesome. Unboxing 5/5 Felt like I was opening a premium product all around. I know this is a small thing but it has a big impact. App/Connectivity 4/5 I wish the app had a little more features. It also seems like the speaker doesn’t automatically connect to my phone once I turn it on. I am having to go into Bluetooth settings and connect it. It’s an extra step that would be nice to avoid. I decided to not connect Alexa with it, so I cannot comment on that feature yet.

There are portable Bluetooth speakers, and then there is the Davialet Mania Portable Bluetooth speaker. This speaker sets the bar at a whole new level. Once you pick up the box, you can tell great care went into making this product. No corner has been cut in making this. The box itself is a work of art. Once you open the box, everything looks to be of superior quality. The speaker even comes in its own cloth bag for protection. Once you pull the speaker out, it also looks like a work of art. But this product is made to listen to not simply to look at, and the sound is more impressive than the look. Connecting to your device is easy. It only takes a matter of seconds before you're able to listen to your favorite music. This product can even connect to Wi-Fi which allows you to connect to Spotify or Airplay and has Alexa built in. With 4 built-in speakers, you can command Alexa with ease. It really is the complete package. These features are great, but the real beauty of this speaker is in the sound. It has become my preferred way of listening to music at home. If given the choice between earbuds and this speaker, I will choose the Mania speaker every time. The sound is incredibly crisp regardless of what style of music you are listening to. Whether it be pop, funk, R&B, easy listening, or even classical, the Mania speaker delivers a crystal-clear sound. When listening to music, I hear things that I have not heard before. On acoustic numbers, I can even hear the guitarist's fingers sliding on the strings or the keys on the piano. Regardless of how loud it gets, there is no distortion. The base is powerful but not overbearing. It gives a very true representation of the recording. The speaker is completely portable and easy to take with you. The battery life is fairly good for this size of speaker. A fully charged battery should last approximately 10 hours. You can still use it plugged in. If you wish to fully charge it, it will take about 3 hours to get back to full status. The 10 hours though should last you through most of the day. At the end of the day, I love the Davialet Mania Portable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Capable Speaker. It is the best Bluetooth speaker I have ever used. At home this is all I want to use to listen to my music. I highly recommend to anyone this portable Bluetooth speaker which also can't connect to my streaming services or Alexa.

The Mania was a speaker that I was incredibly excited to try out. The reviews for this thing are generally glowing, owing to the seemingly physics-defying presence and low end heft that leaves the listener wondering just exactly how they've done it. After spending a few days with the Mania, I can whole heartedly say that the hype is justified, though certain aspects of the speaker are surprisingly disappointing. I'll get this out of the way now. I'm not a fan of the app, and the software of the speaker in general. For instance, using Bluetooth feels like more of a chore than a Bluetooth speaker has any business making it. Powering on the speaker takes what feels like 15-20 seconds, and it takes another 15 seconds to connect to my phone via Bluetooth. I'm not sure if this is just the combo of Android and the Pixel 6 Pro not working well with it, but it's not a great experience. The app is mostly not useful to me. I genuinely appreciate the fact that they've added WiFi streaming in the interest of giving us the best possible sound quality, but the options in the app don't align with what my listening preferences. However, I did try wifi streaming for a bit and it did work well. The quality is expectedly great and could be a solid option around the house. Finally, Devialet has baked in Alexa voice integration. I haven't used this much to be honest, but the commands work well enough. Issues aside, once it is connected... Wow. The sound quality of this thing is jarring. It projects sound that took me completely by surprise, across the entire sound spectrum. Generally speaking, it's not difficult for speakers to have great highs and decent mids since high and mid drivers don't need much size, but it's almost always the low end where they fall apart. Not the Mania. The drivers on this thing pump out a low end thump that fills most rooms and is present even in the outdoors. In fact, my favorite use is to throw the Mania in the lower compartment of a stroller and listen to tunes while going for walks with my daughter. I've gotten a few comments around the neighborhood inquiring about what kind of system I have. I can't stress just how great this thing sounds in all scenarios. I've thrown the gauntlet at this thing; prog rock, singer/songwriter, metal, and rap, and it handled it all. Beyond that, turning things up, there was zero hint of distortion. This speaker really is just composed in every situation. I'm summary, from a sound quality perspective, this is my new favorite speaker. It excels in virtually every scenario, giving you portable sound that sounds like a much larger system. I just wish they would tweak a few things on the software front to streamline the overall experience.
