Good Game Bad Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game play of Diablo 3 is fun... if you can play.. I bought the collectors edition from Best buy and the game was fun to play when the servers were up even though half the features like the auction house have been down 75% of the time. But I got home from work the other day and the game has been removed from my account and it set me to the starter edition... I can't access my high level chars I made or any over lv 9. I've tried to call support multiple times over the past few days and every time I get a recording saying there phone Que is full please try again later. Well later never comes I've been calling at all different hours multiple times a day for 4+ days. I also submitted a online support ticket with the game and still 4 days later no response. If you like playing the games you buy don't buy this one...

So far, so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I, among just about every other Diablo fan, have been waiting for this game with baited breath. After the decade long wait, I thought there would be no way they could live up to expectations. Having said that, I can honestly say that I am not disappointed. This is an amazing game. Sure, Blizzard had all sorts of technical issues at launch, but now I'm not having hardly any problems. The game itself, well....you'll just have to experience it yourself as no words can really express how really good of a game it is. The only bad thing I've yet discovered is that you have to be online all the time, even if you're just playing the single player campaign. That SUCKS!!! Everything else is shiny.

It's finally here!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So glad it has finally been released. A lot of fun to play and very addictive. Game sessions often go longer than planned because I'm so engrossed. Another excellent addition to the franchise.

Disconnects constantly. Literally unplayable.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a review of the game at launch. That was horrible. Everyone knows the game was unplayable. This is almost 2 weeks later. The game is unplayable during normal gaming hours; like at night. If others are playing, then you will not be able to play because the servers disconnect you after less than 2 minutes. And saving is only to checkpoints i.e. THE GAME IS UNPLAYABLE. I've tried every few week nights, but the only time I was able to play was a Sunday during the day. I suspect the positive reviews are coming from addicts who are playing through the night. On a Friday evening, I've been disconnected 10 times in a row. And it will continue like this for the foreseeable future. Just like the launch. Customer support responds after a few days, to each ticket - and I've sent multiple - with "yeah, our servers were really getting hammered. it should be better now." But of course, it is not.

Almost worth the decade long wait
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a worthy sequel. It took them a decade+ but it's worth it if they get it right... and they did.

Such a repetitive game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure why some of my friends still play this game. I saw no appeal in it. Basically you go through the same storyline four times in different difficulties/levels. If you think something is going to change when you're level capped, it's not. You go through farming the same act again and again except this time you don't go through the storyline. Plus when you get a good piece of gear, you have to decide between keeping the gear or selling it for real life pocket cash. You can't keep that really awesome piece of gear in the game without feeling a little bit of regret on not selling that it in the real market auction house for real life money, which basically ruined the game for me.

Do not purchase this game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not purchase this game. Blizzards new code of conduct is: pay $60 for a game, then pay either real money for items to progress later in the game or spend 100's of hours saving little by little for items that are way overpriced for 10's of millions of gold if not 100's of millions. With the repair bills being totally outrageous from just fighting and not dying you barely make a profit for hours of gameplay. The lag on the server (you always have to be online# is horrible especially when standing in 1 spot for another second can take 1/2 your health. Then you eventually will get to a boss that is currently broken as reported by 1000s of customers and Blizzard won't own up to that fact. So you are forced to either quit playing or start a new character and hit the same brick wall. So if you have TONS of real money to throw at getting items just to play this game #$250 dollars per weapon and item for the best# then go ahead. Personally I will not be purchasing any more Blizzard games after this #13 year or more customer).

Its all about the loot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rough start but the game sinks its teeth into you. If youve played previous you know how the game mechanics can get repetitive but ITS ALL ABOUT THE LOOT.

diablo 3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For all the diablo fans, this is a must have since it continues the series. The animation is great and so are the cut scenes. The biggest problem with the game is that you need to constantly have internet connection in order to play. There is also no LAN

Diablo III was to much like Diablo II
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a hardcore Diablo fan since the first one came out. I did enjoy playing Diablo III, but it was just to easy to go through the game beating everything with little difficulty. Blizzard in my opinion did a disservice to us hardcore fans of Diablo by not having better graphics and a story line that was to close to that of Diablo II. I waited a long time for this new game to come out and was hoping for a better gaming experience then what I got from this game. Even with the pit falls of the game, it is still recommended by me to any one that is just starting out in playing Diablo, for it would be challenging enough for them to keep their interests throughout the game.

Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been a longtime diablo fan and played LOD for 6+ years. I anxiously awaited Diablo 3 and was greatly letdown. This game has no replay value and yet to beat it with one character you must play through 4 times. This game completely ruined character development and itemization. Magic finding is extremely dissatisfying and PVP is nonexistent regardless of future promises. The game has been developed to surround a players use of the auction house which is primarily controlled by gold farmers. They destroyed the franchise the used to command respect. I don't have much hope for future Blizzard games. (I tried to return my digital copy but Blizzard customer service was overwhelmed with calls I was hung up on.)

Not what D2 fans expect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me first start off by saying the game is not that bad, IF you have never played D1 or D2. The game is completely online. There is no offline single player mode. The transition from the D2 visual style to the D3 WOW visual style is upsetting. A change from the dark stylistic setting in D1 and D2 is destroyed with bright colors and silly character models. It is hard to tell weather you are playing the third in a series. The story is extremely poor. From the corny dialog to the lame attempt to continue the series. As the story goes on, you begin to think Blizzard is trying to end Diablo. Not to mention the game is completely story base. Once you complete an act, You cannot go back or forward in acts without leaving the game and making or joining a new one. You have to sit through the story every-time you make or new character, even when you advance in difficulty. They have movie instances which are played during the game. Even though you can skip them, they become irritating. The "game" system has changed as well. There are no more game channels. You join games based on the quest you are on. You are linked with players with the same quest. (joining a game similar to COD) As of now there is no PVP. The skill and stat system has been fundamentally transformed. They introduce cool-down times and eliminate customization. You don't get to pick which skills you want. Skills are gained by meeting the required level. There is absolutely no difference between a character other than items, gender, or class. You can choose a skill set, if you are comfortable with that set you continue to gain new skills that are never used. Skills do not level up. Instead you gain "runes". Basically they are additions to the skill. There is absolutely no stats to appoint. Stats are pre-determined every level. The current level cap is 60. I imagine they will release expansions as they do with WOW. This game is an epic failure. Forbes magazine has written a piece about the Diablo that never was, which I employ every Diablo fan to read. Essentially Blizzard shut down Blizzard North and hijacked the game. We now see the result. As former Diablo creators moved onto such titles as, Tourchlight and the failed Hellgate London. If you are interested in Diablo 3, I advise you to watch youtube game-play videos to understand what you are getting. If you are a Diablo fan don't expect much from this attempt on a sequel.
