I saw this in the theatre years ago when it was new, then later on VHS, then DVD and even later on Blu-Ray., and now on this 4K offering. But I've never seen it look this good! Great color, excellent resolution, and wonderful contrast with inky blacks. This belongs in any fans collection. For a movie of this age, it far exceeded my expectations in image quality. It blows away anything that Netflix or any other streaming service could offer, regardless of whether they call it 4K or not.

There are a handful of movies I will buy again just to get updated quality and packaging. Die Hard is one of them. I watch it every Christmas (But is it a Christmas Movie? I still don't know). I love the Steelbook packaging with its beautiful artwork. This item replaced a 20-year old DVD so now I have upgraded to Blu Ray quality too. The price point is very reasonable considering everyone interested already has a copy in another format. Thank you Best Buy.

LET'S TALK ABOUT HOW SOME ACTORS ARE JUST MADE FOR CERTAIN ROLES. WE OFTEN WONDER WHAT THE CASTING DIRECTOR WAS THINKING WHEN THEY CHOOSE THAT PERSON TO PLAY THE PART. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT TEND'S TO HAPPEN AFTER SEEING'S THE CREDITS ROLE TO A MOVIE HEAD LIKE MYSELF. BUT THERE'S THOSE TIMES WHEN THAT QUESTION HAS ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED BY THE WAY THE PLOT PLAYED OUT AND HOW SATISFIED WE WAS WITH THE OUTCOME. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE DAY ONE CLASSIC'S FOR THE RECORD BOOKS. FOR A MOVIE WITH THE BUDGET OF $28,000,000 THAT WAS RELEASED BACK ON JULY 17, 1988 IT MADE A ASTOUNDING $83,088,852 AND THERE'S NO SMALL WONDER WHY. IT WAS REFRESHINGLY ENTERTAINING AND A BOLD ONE FOR THE AGES. IT WAS WELL CASTED, FULL OF FUN AND MADE ACTION MOVIES FUN TO WATCH AGAIN. FAST FORWARD 30 YEARS LATER THIS IS A MUST HAVE IF YOU'RE A COLLECTOR OR MOVIE NOVICE. SO TO THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PICKED UP THERE COPY AS YET " GO DIE HARD OR GO HOME " IF YOU'RE IN A BESTBUY AND DIDN'T GET YOURS.

When I saw this movie at the Black Friday sale, I had to add it to my ever-growing 4K collection! Who doesn't love this movie, Die Hard?! This is a classic action movie that should be in everybody’s collection, whether it be physical or digital! It is such a great movie! It is such a great upgrade to 4K! The picture and sound quality are incredible! Fantastic home theater effects!

The debate will continue...Is it or is it not a Christmas movie? Doesn't matter - it is a fantastic movie. John McClane, (Bruce Willis), in perhaps his most memorable and famous role. Like Harrison Ford in the Indie Movies, Willis will never be replaced as John McClane.

Thirty years later and John McTiernan's Die Hard remains just as entertaining today as it was when I first saw it in theaters, full of hilariously wry comedy reminiscent of classic Hollywood mixed with the exaggerated explosive suspense of the modern era. The seminal action flick will always be remembered for kickstarting Bruce Willis' career and for changing the face of the genre, and on top of that, it remains the best Christmas-themed film ever made. On Ultra HD, the movie arrives as a 30th Anniversary edition with an excellent 4K HDR10 presentation, reportedly struck from a new remaster, and an identical DTS-HD soundtrack that sounds great when using the receivers up-mixing functionality. The same supplements are ported over, but the overall package is nonetheless Recommended for loyal, devoted fans and UHD enthusiasts.

Die Hard is the quintessential classic action movie. Coupled that with all the Christmas feels and nostalgia you have when watching it. Then add 4k and you will wanna cancel your plans for the night.

Die Hard, this movie sets the bar for great action movies! This is a fun action based movie with one of the best movie lines ever!!! If you have never seen it, I think it's a must see and if you have, it's always a good time to re-watch. I also saw a poll that stated it's one of the top 10 Christmas movies in the United States. I'm not sure if it's a Christmas movie, but takes place during a Christmas party. Eitherway it's not stop action and blast to watch!

This movie is great, has amazing FUNNY lines, fast action, really sets a nice pace. The sound is great, can't say enough good things about the sound, it has what you expect for the money you spend on a disk of this magnitude, the money they spent was well placed. You get high quality content. The CGI is so realistic you forget its CGI and just fall into the story and lose yourself in the emotion and staging of the drama and action.

I bought this movie because I’m tired of waiting for it to come on during Christmas every year. Now I can watch the Die Hard when the lights are up and am free to sit down my a cozy fire.

One of the greatest action movies of all time! Beautifully restored in 4k. Never get tired of watching it! BB had a fantastic price on it. So glad I got it!

Another classic timeless film. And yes this is a Christmas movie. I absolutely will not get tired of watching this and now owning it in 4k is such a thrill

This is the final movie I bought with Best Buy’s rewards program. Free is once again for me!!!!! Bruce Willis is one of my favorite actors. He did not disappoint me in this action packed film. And yes again it was great on my home theatre bought at Best Buy! You really need to go get this one if you like Bruce Willis. Get it and a Best Buy home theatre, you will be happy you did

I'm old enough to have seen this on its' first run in the theaters. It's fun and Bruce Willis at his best. This is the best of all the Die Hard series, and "Snape" is great as a villain. You can see the plot twists coming a mile away, but there's no other movie (aside from the Matrix maybe) that's better for showing off your sound system. HIGHLY recommended.

Have to watch it every year to kick of Christmas…yes it is a Christmas movie. Christmas doesnt begin until Hans falls lol.

What can I say? This movie is one of the best movies that was brought out in the 1980s. It is completely action packed by the wonderful Bruce Willis and has many thrills. This film is one of the best action films in the last 30 years and it is a must own for your collection of movies. I highly recommend purchasing this 4K transfer of this movie

The basic "Die Hard" formula is often copied (yes I realize Die Hard itself takes from several movies that preceded it) but never matched. Just the right mix of drama, humor, smarts and Christmas (yes, it is a Christmas movie) - it is one of my all time favorites - a film that holds up over the years (much more so then its sequels).

I bought this specific blu-ray for the Christmas-theme cover. It didn't come with one. I asked Best Buy employees, who weren't able to help. Unfortunately, don't buy this expecting the fun cover. Expect the normal one instead. Other than that, product is as expected.
