If you've never seen the original "Die Hard", it deserves the wipe. - Excellent story and pacing, with great setups and payoffs. - Fun and exciting action with real stunts and minimal special effects. - You easily get behind Bruce Willis and root for him. And the 4K upgrade is great and we'll worth the purchase. The sequels are hit and miss but nothing will top the original.

I have to say, the movie itself is 5 stars, absolutely. This particular 4K disc from Fox could have been better in my opinion. The sound is good, but not upgraded to Dolby Atmos 7.1. It is English DTS 5.1 and there are other languages as well to select from. The picture, well, it looks soft for a 4K disc. Predator from the same year looks good on the 4K, but I think Fox didn't do this movie anything buy putting it on 4K. I compared the Blu-ray version and there is little to no difference. I wouldn't recommend getting this unless you do not have it at all. Special Features are good and brought over from previous editions. There is audio commentary and subtitles as well. Classic movie from 1987 that deserves better for UHD.

great movie video quality was good, 4k is a stretch but for the age of the movie it was good

I bought the diehard movie when it first came out on DVD. My daughter had never seen it and when I saw there was an anniversary edition I knew I had to get it on Blu-ray. It’s just a great movie though I never thought of it as a Christmas classic but it has become one overtime . Should you buy this or should you buy this again as an upgrade I leave up to you but I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase . Yippee Yayo I hope I spelled that right .

New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages -- but him.

Love the old movie classic and the ability to get it at Best Buy was great the price was reasonable.

This is the first time I saw this film. I wonder why I did not see it when it came out.

Great Blu Ray of a Christmas Classic. This movie is full of action and is a great Holiday movie.

Great classic on blu ray, cute Christmas cover. It was a gift for my husband and he loved it.

I was excited about this movie when it first came out in 4k. I expected a top-tier presentation courstsy of 20th Century Fox. I was only half disappointed. Make no mistake..this version is the best the film has ever looked in any format. Face tones, costumes, and the movie settings look great. If you've seen this movie before ( and who hasn't, really ?), then you're in for a treat with this 4k version. Unfortunately, the same DTS-5.1 audio track from the previous blu-ray versions has simply been ported over onto this disc. It's not that the track is BAD, but a new Atmos or DTS-X pressing would have made for a much more attractive package. If all you own is the blu-ray..or any version previous to that..you'll be most happy with the upgrade to this 4k version.

I didn't need this movie on a Blu-ray, but I wanted the digital code. Well worth it!

One of the all time greatest action flicks from the 80’s comes to 4K UHD and it’s sort of a no brainer. This appeared to be a good transfer and I feel that its a worthy edition to anyone’s collection. I like that the packaging included a slip cover, but I was curious as to why there wasn’t a Steelbook edition option for such a popular movie. Outside of that, this is probably a must own for any collector.

The slipcover came a bit damaged but the bluray was in perfect condition.
