If you used it upright with your phone it would tip over. It's only meant for portrait mode not selfie mode. The plastic grips left marks all over my desk and surfaces.

You can use this to record performances low to the ground, then connect a rhode shot mic to pic up crisp audio. Easy tool to use and have around.
