My wife purchased me a mirror less camera for Christmas so i would stop talking about leaving Nikon...(she does listen)....so right away i knew i needed a back up battery and purchased this to save money due to buying a new camera bag and G lens as well. First time inserting the battery it read on the display that it wasn't compatible, as well it was stuck in the grip and had to pry it out, second attempt it worked as long as its pushed in with slight force but i can only remove it by keeping the battery door open, with a firm grip i have to slap it into the palm of my other hand for it to eject and lastly on a full charge, i took 2~ 30 second exposures and adjusted settings and killed the battery. unacceptable. I may have a defected one but as of right now, i cant recommend it. I highly recommend buying original Sony batteries and not knock off, at least not this brand. I am going to replace it and ill update. (charger works well)

It is unfortunate that the online description is not accurate in this regard. Best Buy should fix this problem. I would take little comfort in the comments of other people that they successfully used the Sony battery in this charger and recharged the included battery in the camera. Another error in the description is that the battery in the kit is a Sony NP-FW50 battery. It is a replacement battery which has less capacity than the genuine Sony battery according to the labels on each, 6.8 watt-hours vs. 7.3 Watt-hours.

Needed an emergency replacement battery while on a job. The battery worked on my Sony NEX-5 camera for a while. Got some very distorted and unusable images. Then the battery stopped working. Now the camera won't power up. Seems obvious from the images the specs for the voltage were not compatible. This purchase was much worse than getting nothing.
