Won’t charge

I plugged it in the night before and had it charging for 12 hours. I unplugged it and tried to turn on my camera and I got a message saying the camera was not charged. I put my old battery back in my camera and it worked. So I put this new battery back in my camera and charged it again for another four hours. Same thing.

Would Give it a Zero if I Could, Defective?

After removal, there was indication that battery had swollen after just one use. Returned to the store.
