it was meh
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.cool settings, like too many to count. if you want it because of the many color light settings, then get this, but if you need "good" lighting, this ain't it. also, it dies super fast on the high settings but takes what feels like half a day to charge up.

Small Light Packs a Punch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Digipower RGB light is a great addition to my production gear. I use it mostly for the RGB/HSI mode, but am glad it’s also got tungsten and daylight color temperatures. Regarding HSI, the brightness/intensity at 100% looks awesomely vivid. HSI stands for Hue, Saturation, Intensity - the Intensity is toggled by the ‘brightness’ knob, so when speaking toward HSI mode, if I refer to ‘brightness’ it’s the same as ‘intensity’. This light looks great on my white cyc wall. Because of the size of the light, the cast does have fall off when placed closer to the wall, but I think it looks good anyway, especially as a background for talking head videos. I also used it as a side light for product photography. The battery life seems fine, but I don’t have anything to compare it to so I can really only go off of how it worked for me. I like that the readout screen shows an estimate on how long the battery will last depending on how bright I make it, or what effect I’m on. HSI at 100% brightness/intensity is going to drain the fastest and on the brightest setting I got about 1 hour of battery life. I have not tested the longevity of a full battery charge at 1% brightness, so if you can spare the brightness, you may get many hours of battery life. For reference, the Digipower RGB itself gave me the following battery life estimates at these brightness (B) levels: B 100% = 1 hr | B 75% = 1.2 hr | B 50% = 2 hrs | B 25% = 3.5 hrs | B 1% = 14 hrs Personally, I find some of the effects either extraneous or inaccurate. I do love the Chase effect (rolls through all the colors), but wish the ‘slow’ one was even slower. The Fire effect is too red. The Candle is only ok on higher brightness, bringing the brightness down will shift a bit green. The Police effect is kind of loud, I can physically hear clicking. The Romantic effect seems random, but it’s pretty. I’m not docking points for extraneous effects especially since I won’t be using them. There are a couple cons. The light gets pretty warm once it's used for a prolonged amount of time but the manual states it will automatically shut off if it gets too hot to operate. The RGB hues shift when going down in brightness. For example, yellow on low brightness fades to green and red on low brightness fades to yellow. One odd thing is that the manual says “HSL” but as far as I know, it should read “HSI”. Overall, I think this is an excellent light. I can put aside the cons easily and say I’m quite pleased with the Digipower RGB Light. The two mounting points are very convenient; I’ve already used them both to position the light where it needs to be while making video content and doing product photography. I love that the shoe mount is included as well so I can mount it on my camera or my shoe mount accessory that I rig onto articulating arms or stand clamps. I’m thrilled to have such a compact light that I can mount virtually anywhere either with the mounting points or the shoe mount.

Bright!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Digipower is a device you do not know you need until you have one or use one and then realize that you absolutely do. Out of the box you can at once feel the quality and appreciate the professional look of the device and onboard controls. The unit is able to mount to any type of stand but does not really stand on its own. My wife is a novice photographer, and I was on the yearbook team in high school and have always been a hobbyist photographer. Needless to say, but we take an inordinate number of photos every day. We were both just floored at how ingenious this is and wondered how we had gone so long without something like this. The best and almost the worst part of the device is how bright it is which I think is the most relevant issue. The device will get so bright that even at the beach this past weekend, we were able to positively affect our photos in the noonday sunlight. This is the worst part too though. While streaming, I set the control on the lowest temperature, and it is still really bright. I am not a pretty person and use the lighting to make myself feel better about being in front of a live stream. I say this kind of joking but still serious in some ways. It is fine though and not an actual con or slight against the unit because all I have to do is change the hue down a bit to make myself look just lovely. Or you can be like my son and just use it to create a super chill RGB mood lighting for his room and really make his PC setup pop. The battery pack is a cool feature as well and has become a helpful mnemonic device so that we are sure to always have it with us. There was something like 1.8 billion digital photos uploaded each day last year which is like 657 billion a year and that is not even counting digital video uploads and or streams (google). So, grab this Digipower and get looking super professional so that you can set yours apart.

Bright accurate color anywhere you want it!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LED light is a small but amazing piece of technology. When first reviewing it, I thought the LED color might be over the top but using it showed me that there's so many creative uses for different colors of light and not just for photography or videography. The built-in lighting effects are absolutely perfect for creative videography and add the perfect background effect to any scene. The back display is crisp and easy to read, the controls/buttons you use to navigate are easy to use too and clearly labeled on the device so you can figure it out even if you don't have the instruction manual - a huge plus! For overall brightness, I would say it's very bright and perfect for one subject or adding an effect to a normal size room. Though if you want to set a full stage or you might want to have more than one to balance the scene. The awesome part about that is the digital display with the settings on the back would make it easy to set the colors and settings exactly the same. Battery life is as advertised though the brightness and color can have an effect on it and charging your phone can affect it of course too. It also doubles as a battery charger for your phone where it has a USB port that can be used to charge other devices. I was extremely happy to see that it uses USB Type C to charge so there is no worry about having to carry a special cable just for it to charge it. For anyone trying to imagine why you might want one of these if you don't do photos/videos I would say that it has uses beyond those for sure! You can use it to add mood to any room and situation. The camera mounts are removable so it can literally be used as a battery charger with a fancy light and then later be mounted to a tripod. I'd definitely recommend giving this LED light a try! It's awesome, and the color it puts out is amazing and seems accurate.

Must have for content creators
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the most important things to a content creator besides sound it light. Good lightning can make or break a video even if the content is good. In order to hold the attention of the viewer lighting is extremely important. Unfortunately, lighting is not always the best in certain places which is why it is necessary to have your own additional lighting. Big lighting sets can be very expensive and not easy to carry around. Sometimes as a content creator you want to create videos on the run and not carry around a lot of unnecessary extras. That is where something like this on camera RBG light comes in handy. It is extremely compact and light weight. it can easily be thrown into a camera back or backpack and is ready to use when needed. It is made from a lightweight aluminum material which is both durable and light. Some of my favorite features include a small screen on the back which gives you a lot of information. It has a battery indicator but also tells you how many hours are left based off the current settings. The settings are limitless. It has warm and cool temps ranging from 3200K-5600K. It also has RBG lighting which can add some cool colored effects to pictures or video. I have used these in a studio before and the end product is awesome. The battery life is amazing on this device and it will last hours which is more than enough. One cool feature is that is can also be used as a built in power bank to power anything such as your phone or camera via USB. With a built in 4000 mah battery it is plenty to give you a little juice on the run. Overall, this is a high quality product that I believe any photographer or videographer should have in their bag. It is so small and easy to use but it can change your content in a great way.

Nice and bright light source for smartphone/DSLR
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Digipower Portable Video Light looks to be useful for photography. I have a AS in photography and shoot with a Canon 6D. Having a great light source is key. I can see using this in several settings. The lighting effects are neat, but not useful for my needs. I can see where they would be in short videos. The many effects such as police were red and blue strobe, or fire where it’s like police but all red, and ambulance where it’s all blue. Then there’s 3 levels of chase, 3 levels of strobe, 3 levels of fireworks, 2 club levels and a romantic level, 2 flame and a candle level, and flash regular and fast and lastly tv. What will be useful for me is the ability to shoot with the bright led white light and to be able to set the white balance from 5600k to 3200k and to control the power from 100% to 1%. The light also comes with a 1/4 – 20 mount for the hot shoe on my DSLR. It has 2 mounting spots so I can mount the light vertical or horizontal…nice. On a full charge, the box states it can last about 90 minutes at 100%. Should be plenty of juice to get lots of great shots. Lastly, the light comes with a USBc to USBa charging cable, a couple of manuals (there were 2 of the same and they are so small, these old eyes couldn’t read them) and a nice soft cinch bag to keep it from getting damaged or scratched up. Oh, and this thing is bright…just FYI. I recommend this to anyone needing to add light to a camera or smartphone for photo and/or video projects. It looks to be a handy, inexpensive light alternative.

It did not work as expected.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this portable light for over a year now, battery life is too short and it takes a long time to charge, not enough power, attaching the camera to a DSLR or Mirrorless camera is really hard, since the hot shoe adapter will not sit straight and it will come off with the slightest movement.

Great little portable light
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you film things and need some small, portable lighting, this light does a pretty good job. With a ton of settings, pretty good battery life and a small form factor, I don't think I'll film anything away from my desk without it. I may just get a longer USB cable and use it to light my desk as well. Setup.. It's a light. Not much here. Take it out of the box and turn it on. There's a ton of settings controlled on the side pretty easy and there's a small screen on the back that show you the mode and settings you're on. Also has battery life remaining which is nice. There are 3 main modes. HSI for solid colored lighting, CCT for white warmth which goes from 3200K to 5600K, and effects which has a bunch of effects you probably won't use. The nicest thing is that it saves your brightness and selected settings for each mode so as you switch between them you don't have to fiddle with anything if you're just looking for the same effect you used last time. Brightness is pretty great. Like... too great. It's bright. Maybe useful in a huge area or outdoors but I have to turn it down to like 5% in my not necessarily small room. As stated, the effects probably won't be used very much. Most of them aren't very good. Things like fireworks that I could never see passing as actual lighting from fireworks. The candle might be passable with a low enough brightness. Both fire presets are pretty bad. The flashing ones might be useful sometimes? Basically, they're very niche and I doubt I'll ever need them but who knows. I don't have much more to say about this. It's a light panel and it does it's job. It's super bright. Can be customized to the exact color you're looking for and you can use some effects on rare occasions when they might look good. Pick it up if you're looking for something easy to bring with you.

Wont Charge
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have only been able to use this one time at the house and one time while on a photoshoot. The device worked great until the battery was depleted. Not it wont charge or turn on. when connected to the charger it shows its charging at 0% I waiting over 12 hrs to see any progress and it still showed 0%. when I try to turn it on while plugged in all it does is flash every 2 sec. rendering this device useless and me out over $100. Because of the problems I am having, I have no choice but to give it a 1 star rating. If it continued to work as planned, I would have no problem giving this a 5 star rating.

Terrible quality, breaks immediately
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Literally used once and it doesn’t work anymore. Initially did an array of bright LED colors, now only does an off white color. Hardly bright enough to use for a shoot of any kind.

Great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Digipower Portable Video Light is perfect. Small enough to travel in my camera bag, and powerful enough to produce great light in low lit areas. If you are live streaming, and shooting photography. It just simply works. The included power bank to charge your device is great as well.
