More fun than the base game!

We wanted a fun little racer akin to Mario Kart and this fits the bill. We've enjoyed it for a few hours so far. The controls take a bit of getting used to as in some respects they are a bit over-complicated. We are both avid gamers and this is a "kid's" game so this seemed really odd to us, but overall the gameplay is fun.
