Another great movie by Tarantino, this time a somewhat historically inaccurate (sunglasses were not available in the U.S. at the time the movie took place, but who cares) movie about Django, a freed slave who teams with a bounty hunter to free his wife from a slaver named Calvin Candy. The movie is a ton of fun, some great scenes and images, particularly the use of red on white, and all the performances were great. As a blu-ray, the picture and sound were splendid, and I had a lot of fun with this one. One word of caution, however: one scene involves two slaves forced to fight hand-to-hand to the death, and another involves a fighting slave mauled to death by a dog. Just a word of caution for what is otherwise a great movie.

I thought Jamie Foxx did a great job in the movie. The shootout scenes are top notch.

We enjoyed the movie, my husband more than me, only because of the blood.

Tarantino movies are usually great and this is no exception. Christoph Waltz has another great performance. The movie is fun and exciting; good action with funny moments and it has classic Tarantino lines. As far as the Blu-ray goes, there is a nice package and good amount of extras. The best part about this was the pre-order deal. If you pre-ordered the movie, you got to stream an HD version of the movie before the actual Blu-ray/DVD went on sale in stores and anywhere online. If you are a Tarantino fan, you should definitely get this movie.

Tarantino and Steelbook packaging go hand in hand. For all collectors.

Django is a pretty straightforward revenge story, but with a hefty amount of style. The acting and casting of several of its characters makes the movie. Christoph Waltz steals the show and deserves his Oscar for it. Dicaprio, Foxx, Johnson, Jackson - all of them create a powerful presence that keeps you watching for the next turn. The picture on this is a good HD transfer, but nothing spectacular. The soundtrack is ok on music, but very punchy on the effects. There is a wide variance betweeen speaking level and music / effect level. You may find yourself adjusting the volume a few times.

This was definitely worth watching. Not a blockbuster, but I enjoyed it.

Good movie if you like QT movies. Good acting and dialogue.

Django Unchained is a all-around well-acted fantasy about an African slave forcibly freed by a bounty hunter who needs his help to identify and catch someone he is looking for. The transformation during the course of the movie of the main character is by turns interesting, invigorating and empowering for the viewer. This film would be a real treat if only for the unusual if unlikely story, which won the Oscar for Best Writing, Original Screenplay for Tarantino, who also directed. A bonus is the parade of fine performances from most of the actors, from Jamie Fox as the main character to Oscar winner Christoph Waltz as the bounty hunter. Leonardo DiCaprio is excellent as the plantation owner and is by turns vicious and charming. Kerry Washington is stunning as the wife of the main character. As always, Samuel L Jackson is superb, even in the uncomfortable-to-watch portrayal of an Uncle Tom type character. This film is entertaining in many ways and definitely worth your time.

Quentin Tarantino fires on all cylinders once again with Django Unchained. If you're a fan of his work, OF COURSE you're buying this blu-ray and the Best Buy exclusive edition comes with a bonus disc to help make up for the general release's lack of special features. To cpmplicate matters though, both Wal-Mart and Target are also offering exclusive editions each with a bonus disc of their own. My solution? Bought all three while on sale and used the Best Buy exclusive packaging to house all 3 bonus discs, while the blu-ray and DVD copies of the movie itself reside in the Target steelbook. Excessive? Probably...but worth it.

I am a huge fan of Quentin and this has moved up my list to one of my favorites. Hard to do since I love them all. As usual he does not disappoint, altho I will say Quentin's role with as an Aussie was pretty funny. He can't do the accent well at all but his demise was great! Soundtrack was awesome, always love hearing a little Cash. The acting was extraordinary!! I was told it was bloody but as a fan of his I found it to be very tame. So my only negative is that it could have used some more blood :)

Great film for Tarantino fans. Blu-ray picture looks sharp.

Great film with great performances. Contains sensitive material about racism before the civil war so fair warning. But the story and characters tackle the material really well along with sharp directing and filmmaking in general. This is a great transfer of the film with a really solid steel case design. It’s just the general poster really but don’t fix what ain’t broke. Along with the steelbook’s quality, it looks great in your steelbook or blu ray collection.

this is a good show to watch , I would recommend it for sure.

Tarantino has never failed to deliver a great movie.

Tarantino ramps up his crazy with this Western shoot em up with Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz (our favorite hunter from another Tarantino movie). I have to say this was, unlike other films from acclaimed director, short and sweet. While it runs over 2 hours the fact that the pacing of everything keeps you on your toes makes the time fly. Tension between Foxx and DiCaprio's creepy and terrifying Candy will have you wondering who will bite the bullet first. Worth sitting through to see the candy colored blood fly.

If you haven't seen this movie, stop reading this review and go watch it! It is an amazing film; brilliantly acted and directed. It can be a bit difficult to watch due to the overwhelming racial injustice that IS the movie, but it is a masterpiece nonetheless. The steelbook is also amazing in its simplicity. My only gripe is that it does not include a DVD or a digital copy. Either way, amazing movie!

The movie was great, especially if you're a fan of Tarantino. I compare it to modern Tarantino, like inglorious b*stards . Very entertaining, with great performances from DiCaprio and Fox. And Christoph Waltz is as brilliant, perhaps more so, than he was in tarantino's last flick. The movie looks great on Blu-ray Disc. Of course, some might find it offensive, but if you can watch a movie without taking it too seriously and realize its fiction, check it out. Excellent plot, acting, cinematography, and even some great dark humor, as one would expect from Tarantino.
