Absolutely disgusted about this. The drone itself was pretty nice! 3 days after purchasing while I was flying the drone the controller randomly rebooted. When I was able to regain control of the drone it was upside down with a broken arm. No big deal though I’m a total tech member so it’s it’s covered right…. Checked online inventory until I found a store nearby that had one in stock. When to make the exchange and of course “it must have been a glitch in the system”. Also no big deal I’m a patient man. The guy behind the counter refunds it without asking me what I wanted to do “would rather have went to another store with one in stock.” And $400 of the refund went to a bank account that’s closed.. multiple calls with a “not so friendly” customer support team has led nowhere and Best Buy isn’t concerned about the customer getting a refund they just know they may have sent some money somewhere and that’s good enough for them.

No way to charge the batteries or the rc2. Best Buy knows this and does not offer the charger. Best Buy should have "no charger included" in the tile of product. So, $1400 paper weight. Anyone you ask about this will absolutely tell you how dumb you are for not knowing the charger isn't included. They will go so far as to tell you that it is not needed as "everyone has usb-c 100W bricks, just laying around". Not sure if I blame Bestbuy for not being up front or DJI for being cheap. $75 for a charger for the $1400 purchase really wouldn't have been missed. so $1475... wow.

    Misinformed Restocking Fee

When I bought this drone in Sacramento I was told that there would be a $25 restocking fee if the drone was returned. Not expecting to return the drone I signed the form he told me acknowledged this restocking fee. A week later the drone ended up being the wrong model. It was unopened and still factory sealed. When I went to return it they said there was a 25% restocking fee, not $25. It came to an unpleasant surprise when I had to pay over $200 to return a completely unopened and factory sealed drone.

The DJI - Air 3 Fly More Combo Drone and RC 2 Remote Control with Built-in Screen Is a top of the line consumer camera drone that is on par with some of the best Commercial and Professional camera drones. It is super stable, and the gimbal mounted dual 1/1.3 inch sensor cameras, both take 4k/60 FPS photo and video in multiple formats, including RAW. There is a 70 mm f2.8 telephoto lens for zooming in on your subject, and a 24 mm f1.7 wide angle lens for taking immersive shots where the background is just as important as the main subject. The DJI-Air 3 Fly More Combo comes with 3 batteries, each with over 45 minutes of flight time. Also included is a nice carry case, 3 sets of propellers, and the RC 2 Remote with built in screen. I really enjoy having the dedicated screen. It's much better IMO than having my cell phone attached to a control pad design like some of my other drones use. The Air-3 has 3 different flight modes preset that are easily changed by a switch on the remote. 1st is Cine mode, which is the smoothest flight mode, designed for video. The second is normal mode, which is a little faster and still plenty stable, and the last is Sport mode, which really wakes up the drone and makes it zip around. Sport mode is fun to fly in, but it's also harder to control/keep up with the drone. There is a 6 antenna array inside the drone and controller allowing video transfer instantly for up to 20 KM away, and there is also fast wireless file transfer when using DJI's app as well. The app has al sorts of settings that can be adjusted and changed that will allow you to tailer your drone to your flight style, let you change camera settings, and there are hours of tutorial videos from beginner to expert that you can watch to help you learn to get more out of your drone. I currently own several drones, and this one is by far the easiest to fly. The omni directional Obstacle Sensing works great at preventing crashes into trees or buildings. There are cameras on all sides of the drone, plus top and bottom to increase the safety and obstacle avoidance. Overall this drone and the fly more combo is a great value, if you're a hobbyist, ammature, or even a professional, this drone will get the job done for you!

DJI has to be the top of the drone list, I have used several of their drones at this point and it is safe to say that they do not disappoint. This drone is know exception, now I know I am not the most savvy when it comes to drones but I have used them enough times know to know my way around them. Setup is a breeze, though doing all of the registration and setting up is a bit of an ask for first time users once you done it once you done it forever type of thing. Charged it up and got it running. Operation was smooth and the remote worked great it was awesome to see everything on screen in real time in great quality, it’s awesome seeing all the data of the area around you on screen, we went and took the drone over to my friends house but he lives close enough to an airport that it gave us a warning on restrictions for that area. The drone is really well made it’s solid and works great I could not be happier with it and super excited to take this on my next trip to get some shots for our video. Couldn’t recommend it any more

Amazing Drone, DJI Drones Just Keep Getting Better

I have flown several DJI drones in the past including a Mavic Air and a Mini 2. From the first flight of the Mavic Air several years ago, I was hooked on the incredible technology that these drones offer. The Air 3 offers even more incredible performance and builds and refines past models. Packaging and Unboxing - This drone was packaged well. Everything is included in the included bag. The bag is well made and there's no reason to get anything else unless you need a hard case of some kind. There is a large compartment for the folded up drone, a slot for the battery packs, and a slot for the remote controller, as well as a zippered pouch for extras like propellers or cables. Before you fly the drone recreationally in the US you need to make sure you are registered with the FAA. It is a simple process and costs just $5 for 3 years, and this registration covers multiple drones you may use recreationally. The Air 3 also complies with the new remote ID rules, you simply add that information into the FAA registration. Setup - The Air 3 Fly More Kit offers a set of 3 batteries and a charging slot station, a remote with a built in screen, and the drone itself. I booted up the RC 2 remote and it had me select my wifi network. A couple of brief updates later and I was in the system. It was very easy, and the screen quality is superb. It is REALLY nice flying a drone without tying up your phone and needing to get that set up. There is a microSD card slot in the drone itself and the remote. The remote slot is basically just adding memory to the android OS built into the remote. Both the drone and remote have built in memory. The best place to put the microSD card is the drone itself since that is where the content is being recorded. Otherwise you record to the limited built in memory and then have to transfer it to the remote or phone. But it is GREAT to have built in memory in case of a forgotten memory card. The battery charge station is super easy to use. Just slide the batteries in, plug into any USB-C source (high wattage will charge faster) and it the batteries charge. Indicator lights show the charging status. I charged my 3 batteries and slid one into the drone. Make sure you push on the battery to make sure its locked in place. Booting up the drone, it quickly paired with the remote. I was excited to try it out. Flight controls are identical to previous DJI drones i have flown. These drones are simple and intuitive to fly. I blasted off of my back yard patio straight into the air. The air 3 is very powerful and has a superb climb rate. The drone also has lights on it and a bright white light underneath to help with landing visibility. The drone has built in obstacle avoidance and using the remote you can set it up for different types of flight maneuvers and different modes. You'll just have to try them out and see all the options, there are many. Of course, we always need to make sure we fly safely and smart and are aware of our surroundings. The cameras are the best I have ever seen on a DJI drone. I was flying around sunset in dimmer light, and the quality on the screen is excellent. There are two cameras, one standard wide angle and one telephoto zoom. It's excellent to have this option to switch. The battery life is great, plenty of time to fly. You can easily get over 30 minutes of battery on these. The live video feed on screen was excellent quality. I haven't seen the common dropped frames and garbled video of older drones with older technology. The Air 3 with RC 2 is a truly impressive drone that sets itself apart. This is the complete package. Excellent build quality, 3 large, long lasting batteries, a remote with a built in screen and OS that tucks away into the bag, excellent camera quality, 4k60 HDR video, raw photos, built in memory. DJI has outdone themselves again with a truly impressive product.

I recently had the privilege of experiencing the DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo with the smart controller, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on this remarkable drone. From its impressive camera capabilities to its sleek design and incredible functionality, the DJI Air 3 stands out as a game-changer in the world of aerial photography and videography. Camera Performance: The DJI Air 3's camera system is where the magic truly happens. It boasts a dual-camera setup that takes the drone's visual capabilities to new heights. At the heart of this system are two impressive 1/1.3-inch sensors, each offering unique focal lengths, namely 24 mm and 70 mm equivalents. This dual-camera arrangement allows for versatile shooting and consistently delivers images and videos of exceptional quality that captivate the eye. The use of 1/1.3-inch sensors is a decision that pays off handsomely. These sensors offer a generous surface area that excels in capturing light, resulting in images that are rich in detail, color, and clarity. Whether you're capturing expansive landscapes at 24 mm or zooming in on distant subjects at 70 mm, the level of detail and sharpness is consistently remarkable. While it's worth noting that the apertures on these lenses are fixed, this detail is far from a limitation. The drone's overall camera performance more than compensates for this minor constraint. The beauty of these fixed apertures lies in their reliability. You can trust the drone to deliver excellent image quality consistently, without needing to worry about adjusting the aperture settings. For photographers and videographers, the DJI Air 3's camera system is a dream come true. It provides a seamless experience where the focus is on your creative vision, and the drone handles the technical aspects flawlessly. Whether you're capturing the golden hour's warm hues at 24 mm or zooming in for cinematic close-ups at 70 mm, the dual-camera setup proves to be an asset that elevates your content to the next level. It's an experience that truly showcases the potential of aerial photography and videography, making every flight a visual adventure. Impressive Features: One of the standout features was the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance. It added an extra layer of security and allowed me to navigate tricky environments with ease. I no longer had to worry about accidentally crashing into objects, making my flying experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. Vertical video capture, though designed for social media enthusiasts, brought out my creative side. I loved the flexibility it offered, especially when recording dynamic scenes. Whether it was documenting family gatherings or picturesque landscapes, the vertical video option made my content feel fresh and engaging. The 4K slow-motion video capability was a pleasant surprise. While I'm not a professional videographer, it was fun to experiment with this feature. Slowing down everyday activities or capturing the beauty of nature in slow motion added an artistic touch to my videos that I found exciting and enjoyable. Lastly, the 48MP photo capture allowed me to snap incredibly detailed pictures. It was a delight to capture the fine details of my surroundings, from colorful flowers in my garden to scenic views during hikes. The high-resolution photos made my memories feel more vivid and immersive. Conclusion: My experience with the DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo and the smart controller has been nothing short of incredible. This drone is the perfect choice for those in search of a powerful and versatile aerial photography and videography tool. From its impressive camera performance to its user-friendly functionality and safety features, it has proven to be an outstanding companion for capturing breathtaking aerial content. As a drone enthusiast, I wholeheartedly recommend the DJI Air 3 for your next adventure in the skies.

The DJI Air 3 is all new for 2023 and comes with a few new tricks up its sleeve. Upon opening the package, you are greeted with a very high-quality carrying case to transport your Air 3 along with all your accessories. Once out of the box, you will find a latch with a pull tab on the front of the carrying case. Pull up and release the latch and you will find several packages inside. The first package is the included propellers. Underneath the propellers you will find the Fly More Combo Battery Charger with two additional batteries already inserted for extended flights. The Battery Charger has a neat feature in that it will use all 3 batteries to charge one closest to full to get you up and flying faster. Next is the brand new RC2 controller with LCD screen. Flipping the controller over you will see the two controller knobs neatly tucked into the case for easy storing. Finally, you will come to the star of the show, the DJI Air 3 Drone. Removing the drone from the plastic bag, you will notice right away this is a very well designed and built drone. The 4 arms are extremely easy to unfold. First you unfold the front arms outward and then you unfold the back arms by grabbing and pushing down and outward. Setting up for your first flight is easy and straight forward. Place drone on a flat surface. Remove the sets of propellers from the shipping bag and install each set onto the drone's engine mounts by placing the gray sets of propellers on the gray mounts and the black propellers on the black mounts. Installing them is simply lining up the 3 pegs into the engine mounts and pushing down and twisting gently till they lock in place. Now that the drone is set, grab the RC2 Controller, extend the two attached antenna and power on the unit by tapping on the power button once then tapping it again and holding it down until you hear it beep. Next connect the controller to your wireless network. You will be greeted with the DJI Fly App. From here you can perform all the necessary firmware upgrades needed to get flying. There are several built-in tutorials designed to get you up and fly your new drone in no time. Take the time to go through the tutorials and familiarize yourself with all the capabilities and controls. On the front of the drone, you will find a gimble cover that protects the dual camera system of the drone. Remove this every time you fly and place back on drone to protect the cameras and gimble system when not in use. When you are ready to fly, power on the drone by tapping on the power button on the back of the drone once and then tapping on it again holding down until you hear a beep and then release. The controller and drone will then sync to each other and display on the screen. The last step is to calibrate the controller for GPS tracking. Follow the instructions on screen to finish up prep work. When ready to fly, you will see a takeoff button on screen, simply tap and hold and your drone will power on the propellers and take off and then hover about 3 feet off the ground to start. Landing the drone is as simple as takeoff. Locate the landing button on screen, tap and hold and the drone will descend to the ground and power off the propellers. Congratulations, you have now successfully performed your first flight. You will notice on the top front and top back of the DJI Air 3 there are 4 sensors. This is the all-new obstacle avoidance system that will steer your drone away from danger. Doing a deep dive into the tutorials and DJI Academy will take you from a beginner to a drone pilot in a very short time. After you complete your first takeoff and landing, go through the 10-minute flight instruction course to really get your bearings on how to fly the drone. Be sure to register your drone with the FAA for personal unmanned aircraft to ensure you are compliant with all FAA rules and laws. Remember safety is first and never fly your drone indoors and be aware of your surroundings.

So there are a few things I would like to talk about here, so let's start with the new cameras. This drone has a wide angle dual primary camera setup, very solid. Basically a 24mm lens, and a 70mm lens. Both are very good, and the wide angle lens looks better than most drones I've owned. The quality from these cameras are so good, that you might not know that they are from a drone unless told. I could use the right angle, to get the right photo and you would think it's from an actual camera. 4K video is all I shoot in, and these do not disappoint. I have at least 3 drones from DJI, and these shoot just as well if not better. The build quality is on point, and this drone feels well made. HDR video comes out great too. By the way, you can shoot 4k 60 HDR videos with either lens, for smooth footage. There are tons of features that help you fly, if you are a little uncomfortable at first. obstacle sensing with front, back, left, right, and upward vision systems, as well as a downward vision system for enhanced safety during any flight. Flight time is nice, getting 45 mins with ease. I pushed it to the limit a few times, before it decided to return to home automatically. Overall GREAT drone, and if you get this...make sure to get the fly more kit. Price is the only drawback for me though, as some won't like that the best deal is the fly more kit. It's just the way to go for this drone if you want to do LOTS of flying in one session. Just go for it. It looks cool too...

great drone! no issues and fly's very well in snow and windy conditions. like all things just be careful in those conditions. quality is very nice. It's no RED Komodo Cine camera but it shoots D-log video and RAW photos which is great for color grading. Final note mountains/hills can and will cause connection errors!

When the DJI Air3 came out I was skeptical like everyone else because the previous gen AIR2S had a 20MP camera and the new AIR3 was being advertised as a 12MP camera with the ability to produce 48MP Photos. The entire drone community was up in arms about this because they were focusing strictly on the number of MP instead of the actual technology behind the new 12MP camera. DJI has implemented a Quad-Bayer Backlit Stacked Sensor on each camera on the Air3, now I know what your thinking, what does all that mean? Well to put in simplest terms, The new camera technology can produce sharper and cleaner images with high dynamic range that look incredible, and when compared to the previous Air 2S, you can clearly see that the new camera outperforms the previous gen model in every way. Upon first flight you will notice just how well controlled the Air 3 is. Smooth and responsive and intuitive. It will take time to become comfortable with the controls, but the drone is very confidence inspiring. Let’s talk about features. This drone is LOADED with pro level features. I have a Mavic 3 Pro and the AIR 3 has everything single feature that my M3Pro has minus the third camera. From Waypoints which can be used to set an automated flight path and allow you to automate the gimbal to create perfect cinematic shots to Hyper lapses which can be used to create a short video from a long series of movements. My favorite automated feature is the Panoramic shots. The wide 180-degree shot is the one I use mostly and allows you to really capture a breathtaking view. The Air 3 has a 24mm wide-angle lens that is typical focal length with most drones, but it also has a 70mm Medium Tele-Photo lens that enables you to have an entirely different perspective. Using the 70mm lens means you will be able to fly at a safer distance from a subject but have the video close up. This is great for real estate, landscapes (where you want to compress the backround) or any situation where you can’t fly right up on the subject. The quality on both lenses is outstanding. The 12MP sensors on both cameras look more like 20MP when put into lightroom and zoomed to 200%. I’m very Impressed. Videos: The drone features 4K 24/30/60fps and 100fps for 4K slow motion. It also has Vertical shooting in 2.7K @ 24/30/60fps. There are other lower HD settings also, too many to go over. Shooting video with this drone is a dream come true. When reviewed on a 75” 4K HDR TV the footage is stunning. Ture HDR video that has rich sharp details and just makes you think how these tiny cameras can produce such beautiful footage. If you’re looking for amazing video quality, then this is where you will find it. The Vertical Shooting is useful. It blocks out the sides of the frame and lets you frame out the viewable area so after recording you are left with a true 9:16 Vertical shot that is perfect for Social Media Uploads. I found myself wishing this feature was also for the photos but as of now they haven’t included it. It is worth saying that both cameras have the same sensor and have the same capabilities when it comes to the video settings. The Flight Time: Okay so this drone has the longest advertised flight time I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. 46 Minutes... I can tell you that I was able to consistently get around 40-42 minutes and that is very close. To be honest in the past claims for a battery have been even further off, but not with Air 3. You will have plenty of time to keep this drone in the air to catch all your content. Obstacle Sensing: Occusync 4.0: Okay so the obstacle sensing on the Air 3 is the same as on the Mavic series. This is prograde stuff. There are sensors in front, and in the back as well as the bottom. The front and back sensors are angled in a way where it also captures the sides and the top of the drone to give you full 360 protection. It’s so important to have that extra layer of safety when you’re flying, this way you can focus on capturing your content. There are different modes for the sensors. You can choose Brake or Bypass. Brake will essentially bring the drone to a slow stop once it senses an obstruction. The Bypass setting will allow the drone to try and find a safe way around the obstacle, and it really works well. I usually keep the setting on brake just because I feel better about it. Either way you’re covered! The Controller: This new controller (DJIRC-2) is a welcome addition. They have added external antennas which give it an excellent signal for control and video transmission. Something else I noticed is the remote seems much more responsive than the first generation and there’s something about the wait it feels in your hand, that’s nice too. If you’re on the fence about whether you need the DJIRC-2, it’s not even a choice. Just get it. Hooking your phone up every time you want to fly is a pain and it’s also cumbersome. Ever get a call while you’re flying? It’s not ideal. The controller also has mounting points for neck straps or mounts that you can buy 3rd party, and they can be helpful to free up your hands while you’re setting up the drone to fly or carrying it from one location to another. All in all, the controller is a 5 out of 5! With that out of the way, let’s talk about my experience with the AIR 3.. I have been loving this drone. I have a Mavic 3 Pro and I gravitate towards using this drone because it has all of the same features (minus the 3rd camera) and is lighter and smaller and I think it flies smoother and fast. I want to bring up this second point. Make sure to over to FAA website to register the drone on your Drone zone account. Please also be sure to read all applicable laws and regulations related to operating a drone wherever you live. You will also need to take a TRUST test if this is your first time flying under the recreation flyers. Flying a drone can be a lot of fun, but it's also a big responsibility and it's your responsibility to know the rules and regulations and the laws that encompass them. I will wrap up this review by saying if you made it this far, thank you. There's still so much more to talk about but I want to leave you with this. If you're on the fence about this drone, I say go ahead and make the purchase, because sure you're going to love it.
