Unwillingness to make it right with the customer
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best buy dose not even deserve one star! I ordered this online while talking to a best buy Representative I didn't display to insurer that my package get delivered to a best buy store where i could pick it up! I was working out of state and needed a place to pick it up. The best buy representative entered an address that didn't even exist while putting restrictions on the package so that know one could fix the address not only coud i not change the address i was lied to and told the address was successfuly changed an even got an email stating it was changed! But in Reality it was not! The package got returned and that they would Issue me a refund didn't offer to reship it. They said they would give me a refund this was a month ago I have not received my refund there's a lot more That happened This is a short version. I'm very angry and disappointed in Best Buy Endos of today. I am out $1500 that's right $1500. There was a controller that was added to this package that also got returned and I haven't seen a refund on it either.

Superb Drone. Flying done right!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Starting off, this is my third drone ownership and my first one with FPV. For those readers that are unaware of what FPV stands for here is a direct quote from the internet. “FPV stands for "first person view" and it means that you can see what the drone sees in real time through a built-in video camera. This means you can fly the drone in bird's eye view, giving you an immersive and incredibly exciting flying experience”. This is obtainable through the use of head goggles. I am always super nervous when it comes to both drone ownership and the power curve of learning it’s operation. I dedicated time to the manual’s instruction and also by viewing videos online to become more familiar with the drone. The time that I used was well worth it and I highly recommend it for consumers that are beginners. The Avata 2 drone is a game-changer for drone enthusiasts. It’s capable of aerial photography and videography alike. It has a super sleek ultra modern design, coupled with impressive flight capabilities. The Avata drone is a must-have for those enthusiasts looking for a superior product! Right off the bat, this drone has propeller guards situated around the blades which can absorb bumps and soft crashes. To me this is life saver especially in the learning of flight techniques and should be loved by novices and skilled droners’. I love the motion controller which is hand operated, and like everything else requires some practice in getting used to. My experience was a good one as I practiced with the controls and movements in an open field. I honestly did not test the goggles for any long lengths of time but for the time that I did have them on, they were amazing. It was amazing that the FPV encompasses you and thoroughly pulls you into the action. I will in the future revisit this review and add some comments should it be warranted. There is a lot to learn with this drone such as acrobatic moves, flips and such. Personally I’m not into these types of maneuvers but the drone has this ability in its repertoire. For those consumers that wear glasses, the goggles are adjustable. Not every prescription or high diopters are correctable but I imagine that most users will be happy with the results. One of my favorite features is the “turtle” mode. Exactly what this does is a mode that tries to upright an upside down drone. It is a combination of air pulses that when activated can flip your drone right side up! Especially helpful if the drone is not within walking distance for example. Very cool!!! Videos produced by the drones camera were in my testing super stable. Color was great and I had no complaints whatsoever. I’m closing, there is a lot to learn with this drone and its superb capabilities. I do look forward to further experimentation with my DJI. Unfortunately I live in an are which is dense with buildings and high rises, so my playtime will have to wait until such time that I can get out to “dodge city” to further my experience. So far, I’m loving this drone, it amazing speeds, distances and on and on.

great fpv, with flaws.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it is a good fpv drone, a step up from the avata 1. it does have drawbacks in its use. not as good for photography and at least for me the videos would not load into my video editing software.

Fun and Easy FPV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally got my first FPV drone. In many ways, its like putting on a pair of comfortable shoes if you've been using the DJI drones. You'll recognize many of the same features as their other drones. Before I start, I do want to mention on thing to be concerned with when you buy this. You will need a USB A to C data cable if you fly in zones that need authorization. There is a difference between a charging cable and data. Thankfully I was able to dig one up otherwise I would have been grounded. Anytime you fly in an authorized zone, you need to connect your phone to the goggles to get and/or confirm your authorization. If you change batteries, you have to hookup the phone again. It's a drag for sure. I don't know that I've really seen much information about this so I wanted to get it upfront so you don't spend an hour like I did looking for a compatible cable. After years of watching my friends fly and crash their FPV drones, the Avata 2 is just what I was looking for. A reasonably safe drone with a great camera. There is almost no obstacle avoidance in this drone so you do have to be catious. The guards around the props have so far avoided crashing if you lightly bump into something. Combine that with the ability to hover and easily control the drone with the motion controller, it flies about as easy as you can get. It does take a few flights to get used to the motion controller but one you do, it is very cool. When I got this, I was hoping to shoot video like I do with the Mini 4 Pro. Smooth, cinematic. While this is possible with the right weather conditions and skill, it certainly isn't a replacement. The Avata 2 is sensitive to wind and by that I mean it will wobble a little in those slower cinematic flights. The Avata 2 has a 2-axis camera vs. a 3-axis camera on the Mini 4 Pro. Therefore you will see the wobble on your footage unless you can stablize it in post. The Rocksteady stabilization does a good job of removing most of the jitter but not all. The problem I ran into was camera angle. The camera is generally going to point the direction you are flying. Panning up or down didn't seem to be an option because you were asking the Avata 2 to ascend or descend to get that pan, thereby changing the flight vs. the camera angle. Since you are using the goggles, you can get the drone into more nooks and crannies than a typical camera drone to get some great and unique shots. I would recommend reading the manuals, doing test flights, read some more, then seek out videos with instructions. The more you fly and read, the more it all starts to make sense. One area I had a problem with was using the menu system. While the drone is not flying, you can use the motion controller to select and move through menus. The menus allow you to change a lot of things that you may desire during a flight. Using the joystick on the goggles is a bit cumbersome vs the motion controller. I finally realized that the Lock button on the controller was the answer. Pressing this large, easy to reach, orange button causes the Avata 2 to stop and hover. What it also does is treat the motion controller like a joystick, allowing you to manipulate the menus in flight. That made a huge difference. I was concerned about the goggles. I wear glasses and wondered if I'd be able to see. I'm happy to report that I can see pretty good without my glasses. It's not perfect but I can easily read the menu choices. During flight, the screen in the goggles is really clear and flying isn't an issue. Wearing the goggles was comfortable. I'm not sure I have a huge head but I pretty much reached the capacity of how expandable the headband is. A huge majority shouldn't have any issue but I do want to mention it. As I mentioned up front, you will need to have a data cable attached to the goggles and at a minimum, you will need to plug them in to charge. Because the goggles are minimal, I found it a little difficult to get my fingers in the right place to insert the cable and take it off as well. Not the end of the world but slightly more than a nitpick. Staying on the subject of the goggles, there is a huge win if you happen to own a Mini 4 Pro (or I think the Air 3). The goggles are compatible. I was able to pair my Mini 4 Pro and fly using the goggles and the RC 2 controller with sticks. You do lose some functionality because the Fly App has a lot of options you touch to manipulate. If you want some great detail in your screen and you are flying during the day, having the goggles eliminates all the glare you would get from the LCD screen of the controller. Comparing the Avata 2 to the way you use camera drones is quite different. The camera drone is all about putting together great video while flying. In addition to slower and more controlled flight, you need a great deal of area to fly in. This couldn't be any different with the Avata 2. You fly it indoors to start with. You have to have a reasonable amount of space, but it's doable. Once you get outside, you might only need a hundred feet of space to get the shot you are looking for. Expanding on that, if you have a few hundred feet to work with, you can let it loose and treat it like a sports car on a race track. Normal mode allows you to go about 17 mph and Sport kicks it up to about 35 mph I think. When you are flying low to the ground, you really feel that speed. Now your flying a race car with a great camera on it. I find the Avata 2 compliments the camera drone vs. replacing it. Another area where the Avata 2 differs from a camera drone is the battery. I get 35+ minutes of fly time in my camera drone. DJI rates the Avata 2 battery at 23 minutes but read the fine print. You aren't going to get that if you are shooting video. Your true flight time will be more like 17 minutes which leaves you with single digit battery left. Let's talk about noise. The Avata 2 comes with a sticker on its side. 81db. That is kind of loud. You aren't going to be anonymous when flying. The good news is that it is more of a low frequency noise not a high pitched whine. I didn't have any issue with the sound knowing what the drone was capable of. I didn't say anything about Manual mode which takes everything up several levels. Speed is nearly doubled and flying is virtually unlimited. You have to really know what you are doing when you engage this mode which is one of the reasons I haven't tried this yet. If I read it correctly, you have to have a stick controller to be able to unlock this power. I believe this is due to the fundamentally different way you have to fly it. In the end, the Avata 2 is a really fun way to experience FPV flying that is as easy and safe as we've seen to date. The camera is top notch like the camera drones. It compliments but doesn't fully replace a camera drone. I'm excited to have this in my tool bag and can't wait to see what I can do with it.
