Can't start drone due to Geofencing.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DJI drone and controller are fantastic. The problem is that DJI has Geofencing. DJI sets up areas that require a DJI code to fly into DJI's areas. Even if the FAA says you good. You may still need a code and internet to get the code. Lost opportunities because of the cumbersome process. Do a little research geofencing is a known concern with DJI drones.

DEFINITELY A CLASSIC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had 3 quadcopter drones in the past few years. I’ve had a micro drone, a large drone and now the DJI MAVIC 3 CLASSIC. I have to say that this drone is hands down the best I’ve ever had the opportunity to fly. Which will in time make the MAVIC 3 CLASSIC a classic for the ages. Set up for this drone couldn’t have been any simpler. This thing was well packaged with each component being individually wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box. Once unboxed I plugged the MAVIC and DJI controller in to ensure that both were properly charged utilized the supplied charger and cords. Once they were allowed to charge fully, I powered both the MAVIC 3 CLASSIC and the DJI RC on. Once the RC was powered on, I was able to breeze through the setup, just make sure that you have internet connection. The reason for the internet is so that you can get the latest update from DJI. Upon set up completion, I toggled through the settings on the DJI RC and ensure that I set up then drone controls to my liking. Having the ability to adjust controls using the built-in screen and not having to use my cellphone as the screen is a major plus. The screen on the controller is top notch and very easily viewed in daylight, I didn’t check direct sunlight so I can’t speak to that. Via the controller I was able to make more adjustments to the video and photo settings. It’s nice being able to change setting using the provided remote. Flying the DJI MAVIC 3 CLASSIC is amazing. This drone is super responsive and very quick to react to inputs. With the 3 flight modes that can be toggled through via a selector switch on the RC makes putting your drone in the right mode as easy as a flick of a switch. While flying, I was able to use my index fingers to either take pictures of video by pressing one of two buttons located on the top of the RC. This drone performs phenomenal in high winds, and is much more stable than I remember my larger drone being. The optical avoidance works like a champ, I actually flew towards a row of pine trees and without hesitation the MAVIC 3 gained altitude and flew right over. Take off and landing can either be done automatically by the RC. By pressing and holding the take-off icon on the screen this copter will do in all on its one. Landing is just as easy, simply press the back to home button and the MAVIC 3 will do all the work for you. Just know that takeoff and landing is very easy manually. The flight characteristic of the MAVIC 3 CLASSIC is very predictable and with the different flight modes you can easily tailor your flight to your ability and licking. Downloading flight video and pictures from the DJI is a simple as turning on the MAVIC and plugging it in to your PC using the suppled cable. The video and pictures produced from this drone is amazing. I can’t wait to using this drone to make some new content to post on line. I have thoroughly enjoyed using my new DJI MAVIC 3 CLASSIC. If you’re looking for a new drone that does everything well, don’t let this one go.

acronyms
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Drone and equipment appear to be high quality and functional. However, after watching hours of operations on YouTube, I have yet to get the Drone flying. The acronyms and abbreviations were not defined in the instructions, leaving me very confused.

Best Drone for the Money
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few years ago, I bought my first drone, the DJI Mavic Air 2. I loved shooting videos all over the country with it but in my neck of the woods, there’s nothing interesting to shoot. Due to all the restrictions and the nearby airports, heliports, stadiums, state parks and other places where you are not allowed to fly, it made me almost want to give up flying my drone. I joined a drone club and that sparked my interest again flying with other like minded people. Even though the drone shot 4K video and great still photos, I wanted something better. The drone had only a few sensors to keep it away from objects and the sensors didn't prevent it from bumping into a tree, hitting the ground, and breaking. Of course, I had the DJI refresh policy on it so they replaced the drone for a small fee. Still, I felt my drone was kind of a toy, not quite a professional piece of equipment. I could not afford to get a very professional model, so I decided to live with the replacement drone until something better came along that was affordable. Enter the DJI Mavic 3 Classic! Since I am only a recreational flyer and not looking to make money with the drone, this drone was one that I could afford. The build of this drone seems much sturdier than the previous one and has sensors on all sides of it to keep it away from trees, buildings, people, etc. I feel safe flying it knowing that I won’t have to have it repaired after a small mishap. It is slightly larger and slightly heavier, but I still had to register it with the FAA as I did with the previous one. With the DJI Mavic Air 2, I had to use my iPhone attached to the controller and since I had the Pro Max model, it didn’t fit comfortably on the controller. I had to buy a bracket to hold it on the controller which made it awkward to hold. Before I got the DJI Mavic 3 Classic, I was worried about what would happen with next year’s iPhone since there are rumors that the Lightning port that connects it to the controller would be eliminated and another rumor said that the next iPhone would fold in half. How would I then use it to fly my drone? The DJI Mavic 3 Classic kit that I bought came with the DJI RC controller that has the screen built in. The benefit of this screen is that I won’t get text messages and emails popping up on the screen to distract me while I am flying. The battery on the older drone gave me about 22 minutes of flight time whereas the battery on the DJI Mavic 3 Classic gives me about 45 minutes. There is now a night mode for flying when it’s dark and there is also a cruise control option on the controller to make the flight smoother than trying to hold the stick in one position to keep it flying at a steady speed. I’m glad I upgraded to the newer model as I now feel like a professional filmmaker and I might even go for my Part 107 Professional Pilot license.

Amazing drone! The future in your hands
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel like the tech in drones has advanced in leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time. I still remember being in awe of some Star Wars drones my father bought a now defunct store that used to be in the mall. It was amazing at the time to see those little drones fly, it was amazing but also terrible they couldn’t hover very well their range was so short and they were so loud it honestly wasn’t that enjoyable to use. Fast forward about 5 years and I have this DJI drone sitting in front me and my mind automatically thinks about how loud and slow to react those drones were. Now my first reaction on seeing the drones was it feels premium it feels solid and has an incredible design. The controller is amazing feeling and the screen looks great. Once we got everything set up and took it on its maiden voyage I was floored the was of use the responsiveness of the drone and the image clarity was stunning. We took it around the neighborhood and was able to get some video of our house and backyard. Since then the drone has gone up several times and I even used it to film my jobs facility to send off to the bosses a better idea of the layout of our property. This drone is amazing and so incredibly easy to use my wife is not great with new technology but was able to pick it up and control with relative ease. If your even slightly interested in a drone this is the one to get I highly recommend it.
