Significant upgrade from original Mavic Air

The Mavic Air 2 offers 4K 60P video recording with 120mb/s which allows smooth slow motion at 4K and HDR video up to 4K 30P. Still photos up to 48MP is amazing. The transmission range is very similar to the Mavic 2 with Occusync 2.0 which allows a smoother live FPV video feed (up to 1080P to your mobile device) than the WiFi of the original MA and minimal signal degradation. Not to forget the flight time is significantly improved from the original MA, in practical conditions, the flight time is around 28-31 min on average compare to 16-18 min on the original. Antother useful feature is the inclusion of ADS-B (AirSense) which allows the drone to detect nearby maned aircraft for enhanced safety. The only downside of this drone is the 8K hyperlapse needs some fine tuning which is more likely fixable by a firmware update. Overall, this has been DJI’s best drone for this price range comparible to the more expensive Mavic 2 Pro or Zoom. I currently own 3 other DJI Mavics (Mavic Air original, Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Mini) and this may become my new favorite overall drone.

Pros: easy to fly, improved “follow me” feature great battery life excellent picture quality, it is the perfect solution if you want professional results in an economy budget Cons: the obstacles avoidance is not the best, luckily it is a very tough machine...

I got this to upgrade from the original Mavic air and wow way better. The camera quality was not bad on the old one but omg the original was SO loud. This one is by far better in every possible way. Faster to connect to GPS than the original, far better when it comes to noise and camera performance. Now that the new Fly app has been updated a bunch of times, we finally have all the fine tuning of control sensitivity etc like the old app. OH and we can not forget the AMAZING range this thing has compared to the old one. The original Air was a bit of a joke for range. Never once did it come close to max range, would have issues at half mile at best. This one destroys the original as well in this category. I was torn between this and the Autel EVO2. The main reason for going with Air 2 was simply size. The EVO 2 beats the DJI drones in pretty much everything. However I use my drone mostly when hiking/backpacking so space and weight is critical.

The Mavic Air 2 is the perfect blend between size and quality. I previously owned a DJI Phantom 3 Pro edition. Great drone but it wasn’t able to be broken down for travel and became cumbersome for simple flights. Quick to power up and connect to the controller/phone/tablet via includes cables, whatever you use, Android or Apple iOS. The Air 2 takes up about 25% of the space that the Phantom did and the quality of the video exceeds the Phantom. My purchase included the “Fly More” package which is a huge value versus purchasing what is included separately. Highly recommend the package. I also bought the DJI Smart controller separately. With its included lcd screen, it is a great upgrade. The drone flies extremely well and I have not lost connection or had any signal dropouts in 10 flights. My flights range from a hundred feet to a couple thousand feet with average altitudes of 150 feet.

Best drone out there for the money

Best drone out there for the money. This thing flys amazing, small, portable, powerful, and great image quality. Have a photography background but new to using drones so I started with the Mavic Mini a couple months ago and it’s a great little drone but I wanted a bit more like raw photos, 4K video, and a little more power to handle wind as I live on an island that gets plenty of wind. So I upgraded to the Mavic Air 2 and this thing delivers. Its a joy to fly, handles wind great, has great range, and image quality is great. Just picked up an iPad mini 5 to fly with it and would highly recommend adding a tablet to use as your monitor while flying, makes the flying experience and setting up shots much better. Ordered from Best Buy As they could ship to me in 2 or 3 days (payed a little extra) but Amazon was like two weeks for delivery as I live in Hawaii.

I have the Mavic Air Mini 2 and this drone, the Mavic Air 2. Both are great, but they are certainly different. I use the Mini 2 for quick set up, quick recreational flying. The Mavic Air 2 takes longer to set up and get going, but it is also a more sturdy, solid aircraft. Don't worry about the 250 gram limitation that you keep hearing about when it comes to the necessity of registering your drone. It costs five dollars and takes about 10 minutes. Once you've done it, you are ready to go once you get an automatic letter with an FAA ID number for the drone itself. The Fly - More kit is well worth the money. Having three batteries gives you about 90 minutes fly time under ideal conditions and about 75 minutes in windier environments. Both the Mini 2 and Air 2 have 4K cameras, but the Air 2 camera has the ability to shoot in flat Cinelike colors and in HDR. The Mini 2 is not able to do these. The Air 2 also comes with ND filters which can make filming in bright conditions much easier. The only thing that I am not as happy about on the Air 2 is its battery charging system. You cannot charge the batteries with a spare power bank so they must be fully charged when you leave the house. Finally, the obstacle avoidance on the Air 2 gives you some peace of mind that you don't get with the Mini 2. You can fly your Mini 2 straight into a wall and not get a warning. You can't do that with the Air 2. Be careful though...the Air 2 does not have side to side obstacle avoidance so make sure that you know what you are about to slide into when moving left or right. The controller is almost identical to the Mini 2 controller and it works great.

This is an upgrade from a Mavic Air for me. The improvements are amazing! The camera, while great on the original MA, the improvements are huge, more detail, better in all respects. Next is the range, the original would start to loose contact between 1,000 and 1,500 feet, I've flown the MA2 to well over 5,000 feet and still had a rock solid connection. The controller is also a huge improvement, I can now mount my super sized Samsung Note 20 Ultra in it, even with the case on. One piece of advice for anyone thinking about buying one, The standard Mavic Air 2 is $200 less, don't do it, get the fly more combo, the two extra batteries alone offset the cost difference, plus you get extra props, gang charger, filter set, and a case.

I've had 2 previous DJI drones including the original Mavic and the Phantom 4 Pro, and for the last month, this little beast! Aside from lacking some sensors, this is a great combination of both in my eyes. 48MP stills, 4k @60p and quick to set up. The only thing I really feel it's lacking compared to the P4P is a mechanical shutter, but that's the type of thing you sacrifice when going to something so compact. The Fly More Combo price is cheaper that the original Mavic Air with better accessories. I use it a lot more than I thought I would due to the convenience of it's size! I'll still use my P4P, but this thing is in the car with me daily for those "just in case" moments.

I bought this during my birthday month with 10% off and rewards which got me so many goodies and extras for the drone at hardly an up charge. This drone was an upgrade from my DJI Spark. Pros: Quieter, stable, fast, much better remote, transmission and signal. Cons: Camera is better, but only marginally. This was supposed to be a stopgap upgrade for me until the DJI Mavic 3 Pro comes out eventually. The Pro has a 1" sensor which will let in a lot more natural light. The Air 2 can definitely keep up but with increased ISO and at the sacrifice of noise. The fly more kit is a MUST and now comes with ND Filters! You will not regret this drone!

This was my first Drone I've ever owned and I absolutely love it. I've had it for about a month now and have roughly 6 hours of flight time with it. I was nervous to buy this expensive of a Drone for my first one but DJI made it so easy to fly that it can basically fly itself. The camera quality is spot on and takes some amazing photos and the videos look even better. I'm averaging about 25 minutes per battery in sport mode which I was very pleased with. I would definitely recommend this Drone to anyone looking for one.

I recently upgraded from the Mavic Air to this, the Mavic Air 2. This thing is a BEAST. 4K60, incredible battery life, easy to fly in windy conditions, and the quality is superb! Would I like 10-bit video? Absolutely, but it isn't necessary for the work I do- my cameras can do that. The only thing I don't like is the amount of noise it creates in the image, especially when using HDR mode. Remember to use the ND filters and correct settings, and if absolutely necessary, clean up the noise in post with something like Denoiser III or Neat Video.

The Mavic Pros get a lot of love, but I think for the money the Air 2 is the best. Plus, unless you go into the really high end Mavic Pros then the Air 2 actually has better specs. Also, I own a Mavic Mini, which I have a love hate towards. Love the compatibility of it, love the price, but at the end of the day it hates wind! The Air 2 handles the wind better than any DJI Mavic Drone on the market right now and is worth the extra cost. After all if you live in a windy place having a drone you can fly versus one you can't is a price worth paying.
