Love the Drone DJI is TERRIBLE

This drone is a great drone, it flies incredible the camera is amazing, but hope to high heck that you don't buy the product with a bad battery! I bought this on Jan 29 from Best Buy, when I got home one of the batteries were bad. I contact DJI, and they needed a photo of the receipt a photo of the battery for whatever reason? and then they had to send it through an approval process. I can say that it has now been 10 days and I am still in the approval process, I just want to fly the dang drone, this is an absolute embarrassment to such a great product, the sad part is they rocked on the design and flight of this drone, but come on something as simple as a battery for a drone that cost me 1183.00 should be a no brainer, I will even send the battery back I am not trying to cheat anyone please just get me a battery, I want a drone with the items I paid for. shame on you DJI!

Good drone, but with DJI issues

However, I do see a lot of negative comments as well about how the product comes missing parts and/or broken a lot more than others. This is the reason you should pay tax and make your purchase from Best Buy... because if you do have an issue, you can easily return it and try again. My first drone had an issue with the gimbal where it would go nuts randomly. I took 1 star off due to DJI's quality control process and lack of support. Thank you Best Buy for accepting the return so I could order another! Issues aside, it is GREAT when it works.

Impressive!

Be sure to buy some ND filters with this drone though. The sun can get quite bright and the highlights can be too high. I’m in love with this drone though!

Great when it works.

I've had it for 3 months now and just finally sent it back to DJI to figure out what is wrong with my product. Many gimbal stability and flight control issues seemingly random. Camera is nice but definitely not high-level video quality, grainy corners, focus can be a little pesky at times. Flying itself is great, app has many smart features that do take some time to learn but can be very useful. Obstacle avoidance works well from what I've experienced. Battery/flight time states near 30 minutes in great conditions, in my 56 flights i've had the max about 21 minutes at best.

Product is OK,application crashes a lot

Last time launched my drone over camping near Michigan Lake, drone became uncontrolled and flew away , it is was hanging over the lake and didn't responded to the controller. What a filling when you recognize that 128gb card filled with foots and videos disappears along with a drone. I contacted DJI support with my problem , they never responded back till I called them. Since I owed the drone over 1year they told me that they not responsible for any occurrences happend with a craft, and I more then welcome to buy a new craft only for $759. Drone is really fun toy for making foots and videos, but DJI application is JUNK ! Crashes a lot, and they don't fill responsible for your loss.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The drone is great, Minus some resolution issues at 60FPS, I have no issues with it, however, it should be stated that if you buy this drone, or any DJI device in general, you are getting into bed with horrific customer support from DJI. The drone that was shipped to me included a battery that was non-responsive, would not charge or turn on. I don't blame best buy, and in trying to get DJI to fix the issue, they suggested I ship it in for replacement, but it would take another two weeks to get the replacement... this is my fifth call with DJI customer service about this drone, other issues included odd charges on my card, enormous shipping delays AFTER they started guaranteeing 7-10 days shipping and a botched refund of my order. DJI doesn't offer reciprocity for treating you poorly, and they barely address the issues they create. Ill never buy from DJI again.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it Saturday and set it up on Sunday. It had a vision system error. I could not correct it. I returned it and got another. It also had the same error. It also had several other errors. Spent hours trying to correct the problem and recalibrate the sensors. The solution was to return the brand new out of the box Mavic to DJI. I just bought it why send it to them? I returned it again. I was offers a third I said no thank you! Very disappointed.

Mavic Pro Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.-Inconsistent Firmware, I had it for two weeks already and is been 2 updates already, but keep having issues, Gimbal goes crazy doesn't respond to commands, drone spin by itself, Sensors not turning on all the times, so you have to be really careful I calibrate the IMU the Compass the Controller all the times before flying, but still having issues. if you got a working one, great, cause is a great drone, you would love it, but for now I think they have a lot of bugs, and if you want to take that risk is on you. I contact DJI several times and they just told me to refresh the firmware, to set everything back to default, I even downgrade and update firmware again but still, not a real fix yet. If I keep having this issues I probably will return this and wait till the selling fever pass, so they can be more focus fixing the issues, and then it will be a 5 Star drone I will post an update of this review if I decide to return the drone or not and what DJI did to Fix this issues.

something was wrong
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i pre-ordered a mavic pro, received it in the mail, opened it & flew it. it flew perfectly but the camera was extremely bright. i messed with the settings to darken the image so i am able to see but nothing worked. no matter what settings i chose, it stayed extremely bright & so i had to return it. im sure i had a bad unit. mine was on back order too & so now im waiting to see if Best Buy would get more so i can buy another one hopefully with a good camera. cool drone but i just got unlucky with the camera :(

product not ready for launch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Mavic pro, and while it's an amazing drone, MANY customers including myself are having gimbal errors that require sending it back to DJI for repair. Unlike ALL other drone companies, they don't sell replacement parts for you to fix it yourself. I sent mine back 3 weeks ago, and dealing with DJI customer service has been a nightmare. I still have no idea how long it will take to get it back. On top of that, they have billed me over $300 for a repair that I should not have to pay anything for. I recommend waiting a while for the kinks to be worked out of this product.

Drone good , dji sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the fly more combo, liked the extra batteries and charge hub, those are about the only extras worth it. The travel bag is useless as it only carries charger and is weirdly bulky. Had issues right out of the box, first there was black stands of random hair and what looked to be grains of sand on unit, some of the protective clear stickers were missing on forward facing cam right out of the sealed box! I contact dji and advised them about issues. DJI is makes a great drone , the customer service and help you receive will make you want to burn your drone down. I was able to plead my case to bestbuy store and manager was super helpful and was able to do exchange for me. Word of advise when you get a fly more combo the amount of propellors is confusing as dji can’t get their wording correct. It looks as if your drone is missing 2 props when you open it. According to dji this is normal? 10 not 12 ... makes no sense at all.

Fell out of the sky

Last weekend as I was flying the drone literally just fell out of the sky. The drone had 40% battery and was virtually brand new, no previous issues or crashes. Since I was flying above a lake I was not able to recover the drone. I sent the flight record to DJI and they determined it was not pilot error but would only offer me a 30% off a new drone. Very frustrating that a company will not stand behind its product. As much as id like to buy another one Im not sure I can support a company that does not value its customers...

Horrible DJI

I warn anybody to think twice before they purchase any products from DJI. Last Christmas my wife as a gift purchased the DJI Mavic Pro drone for me literally a stretch for us for 1k. In that span of a year i must have flown it only a matter of five times and taking care of it so carefully just like all my things. On the last flight i notice a smudge on the screen thinking it was on the lens i clean it and nothing, i even changed phones to see if it was the screen and nothing. So it pretty much was something internal in the lens. I call customer service literally the next day and they came to conclusion i need to send it in. I send in the drone and they themselves said the drone was in perfect condition and that in fact the problem was with a faulty lens. So i said ok well i know I'm out of the warranty for two weeks they will help a customer and repair it free of cost. Boy was i wrong everything with customer service and how employees treat you was a nightmare. They said i had to pay $166 dollars to fix it and that the product has warranty for a year but that the gimble only had 6 months warranty. I argued and said im only two weeks away from warranty and i only flew the drone 5 times its not supposed to be faulty after such little use and good care. They didnt care. They never tell you that the gimble has a different warranty. Then i escalated to have a manager call all to tell me he couldnt do anything. I said well your a manager connect me with someone higher that can do something. They said he was the highest in authority but couldnt do anything. Wow a faulty drone and they dont want to honor up to their bad products and to top it off if they do fix it then its only protected for 30 days and it breaks again repairs are my responsibility again. WOW. And let me add few weeks ago i bought the DJI Osmo pocket only to have audio problems and sound delays and it was literally a brand new product with a lot of problems. I returned it in a heartbeat few days ago. Garbage. Make the long story short its a money pit and it almost seems they want these problems to happen so you can continue to fork out more money. I never had this issue with any electronic company in my life. I suggest sticking with other companies that are consumer friendly like gopro etc. And better believe it i will escalate this through a legal process. I'm sure Im not th only one going through this.

Great for beginners

Yes for rookies this drone is awesome and will for the most part keep you out of trouble. As for the geo fencing? Efffing frustrating. My father is a helicopter and sport plane pilot for I have regard and well educated on aviation. What I find annoying is I can't even fly 30 ft AGL in my area. The restrictions are bull. I shouldn't have updated the dam thing. Does dji really think all these restrictions help? Now Im driven to build my own and I am going big. 80mph, 4k, dji sucks.

Posted .Hey Mike, we understand the frustration that users that find that the places they most want to fly are within a no fly zone feel. However, GEO was developed to ensure that as many pilots across the country and globe are flying confidently knowing they are not a safety hazard to other aircrafts. You may be able to contact your local airspace regulator to see if you can get the authority necessary to fly. DJI is flexible in that regard.
