DJI Mini 2 drone review
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i paid $636 for a dji mini 2 drone. i bought an extended warranty for $180 (wow i was stupid). i hit a tree and took it to best buy, luckily 1 week before the warranty expired. they gave me a $636 gift card since they didnt have ANY drones in stock. i dont see the point of having brick and mortar stores if they arent going to have anything in stock all the time. a few months later i used the gift card to buy another dji mini 2 just like it. it only cost $300 but i chose the $270 one that was refurbished. it flew good and all parts were there. so you can trust the refurbished ones. i thought they didnt give me enough screws as it was missing one but inside the top zipper there were more propeller and screws. but then i crashed it also and it broke the arm, literally the 2nd time i flew this drone. so this time i didnt have the $180 warranty since the drone was $270. so i went to amazon and paid $20 with free s&h to get a plastic arm replacement, be careful because each arm is different. so i will have to try and fix it myself. i think the motor is ok. i'll have to use the new propellers though. its a good drone for the price at $300, i got over charged last year at $636. 4 years ago i paid $1250 for a 3dr solo drone and 6 months later the stupid best buy lowered it to $350 !!!! the reason i hit 2 limbs is this does not have obstacle avoidance. the 2nd time the battery was at 10% and it automatically flew up to go back to the take off location, that made me hit a limb. the first time i was watching the screen and not looking at it directly. so always look at the actual drone when flying near trees.

Dji mini 2
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drone was perfect for filming. First of all it had amazing video quality with great range and it could go extremely far without losing connection. It was very light so it did not require you to have a license for flying it in California. I recommend this drone to anyone very great product

Great Features, Great Price, Great Drone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little drone is just great. It can fly fast (I've measured up to 35mph across the ground), but also extremely slow and precise. Pop it into sport mode and shoot around, or cinema mode and slow right down. I have also flown it in up to 20-25mph winds, and it holds in place extremely well, especially given it's 249g (.54lbs) weight. The plastics that cover the drone seem quality, but I wish that it had rubber or metal legs, as the landing legs will scratch if you land on concrete. The rotors also will scratch/have bits come off if they hit a solid obkect, but they include a bunch more in the box. The range is great, and if you happened to fly it out of your line of sight (I would never do such a thing...), the connection is still stable. I have only flown about 5km away, but I have had no problems with range. The camera is really good for this class, with 4K30 and decent colors (for a fixed aperture lens). If you need a better lens, fo with the Mavic Air 2. This drone does not have ADSB in like the Mavic Air 2, which is a bummer, but nothing expected given the price. Overall, amazing value drone!

A drone for everyone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance of this drone is extremely excellent. The response on it is great. It stands up to wind very well. It’s small, lightweight and is solid. The price point is great for the quality you’re receiving. I’d recommend this to starters and avid operators.

Easy to fly, great battery life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were excited to fly the DJI Mini 2 Fly More package as we have had other drones in the past. We live on a ranch and can use this to look for livestock without leaving the porch! The DJI Mini was super pleasing in many aspects. Flying was easy, smoother and more forgiving than older drones, control was excellent after about 10 minutes of practice, and battery life, when compared to the older drones I've flown, and the commercial ones I've seen used, was great. In moderate wind at altitude, with video going the entire time, the battery lasted at least three times as long as a drone from another manufacturer that was a couple of years old. By the time I changed batteries, I felt comfortable enough with the controls to fly under the covered porch area, and the stability was good. The drone did not seem to be impacted by "ground effect" instability as other, larger, drones. Whether that is related to the size, or the built in stability, I do not know. But it sure is fun to fly and the batteries last a long time in comparison with other drones I have. The video from the drone was excellent and very stable. At 160 feet or higher the winds started impacting flight. The gimble worked well, but I still struggle a bit with zooming in (might be my hands!). The package come with everything you need, including THREE batteries, a nifty carrying case and a nice size controller. The downside on the batteries is that they charge in series and not parallel, which adds a lot to the time to charge. The biggest downside was that the user manual and documentation was less than optimal. The quick start guide pamphlet has font and pictures that are way too small for my husband and I to see. The QR code in the box gave a number when I thought it might lead to online information. On the videos, they could have named them better, as I assumed “First Flight” would be watched right before flying, not before setting up. The application itself refers to prompts and icons, but the videos should give a longer look at these. Finally, the lightening connector for the iPhone is hard to use with a thick phone case as it has a 90-degree bend. Overall, for the price this is a super nice drone. The machine itself gets a 5 rating. The documentation could really benefit from some editing and suggestions by users and not by engineers. If the paper docs were twice as large, it would be so much less frustrating. I was tempted to knock this review to a 4 because of the documentation, but this drone is really so nice to fly, I left it at a five.

DJI Mini 2 FTW!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never thought the original Mavic Mini could be improved much beyond the camera but as usual, DJI went above and beyond my expectations all while keeping the same weight, size and improved fly time! All of the additional improvements are definitely worth the 20% price increase in my opinion!

Amazing Small Drone
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to have the Phantom 4, but it was very expensive to repair. I was looking for a comparable drone that was close to the Phantom 4 features. After researching multiple drones, and wanting to stick with the DJI brand, I chose the new Mini 2. This drone is very compact, and had most of the features of my previous drone. I have been very happy with the choice I made, due to the 12 mp pictures and 4K video. I thought this being so small that it wouldn’t fly stable in high winds, however it is rated for level 5 just like the more expensive drones, and flys very stable in windy conditions. The only drawback is not having the forward and top collision sensors, which is available in the Air 2. It is definitely worth the price to purchase the fly more combo, I have not needed to purchase any additional components.

Absolutely amazing Technology
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredible drone thats versatile, compact, & reliable. This was my first drone & initially I was looking for something cheaper to get the hang of that I wouldn't feel bad if it broke. However after scouring reviews this is an amazing beginner drone. Though it lacks obstacle avoidance, it is incredibly easy to fly & shoots truly breathtaking footage that can easily produce professional quality results. It's the best travel drone available that offers DJIs tried & true quality. I considered waiting for either the Fimi X8 mini or Hubsan Zino Mini Pro for their added features, but am glad I did not wait. After seeing tests of both of the previously mentioned competitors, in my opinion it proves DJI is still the King of the drone world.

Fun little drone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've flown several other drones, and this is my favorite. The small size makes it easy to throw in a backpack to take nearly anywhere, legally of course. The drone has surprisingly stabile shots for how light it is. I haven't edited any photos or video on a large monitor yet, so I can't make any judgement on the quality, but images look very nice on smaller screens. Battery life is great, both in the drone and the controller. Set up is quick and easy, and the case that comes with the fly more bundle has more than enough room for all components and accessories. The range isnt as good as the larger Mavics, but with the size of this drone, you will quickly lose sight of it if you fly it too far.

Small and perfect for newbies
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have wanted a drone for so long I think my search engine was tired of looking them up. I was under the impression that I needed to get the mid-range drone vs an entry level one. I was wrong. While there are cheaper drones out there to dip your toes into the drone world, I wanted to have one from a company I knew was top in its class. DJI. I was about to buy the DJI Air 2s but the price was so much and ask yourself this, will you be happy if you spend $1300 on something that will sit in the bag more times then you will probably fly it? That question was something I had to answer, and I realized I would be wasting a lot of money. So, with that answer in hand, I went with the Mini 2. Another thing you need to do before you go out and drop $600 is do your research on your area. I live in Colorado Springs, and we have COS airport, Fort Carson Army Base, Peterson AFB, NORAD, USAFA, and Schriever AFB all within city limits. That makes for slim pickins for flying. That also played a big part of going with an entry level drone over the mid-range. It's hard trying to fly anywhere in town that won't violate the No-Fly Zone. DJI Mini 2 has a chip that will check your location and if you are within that NFZ it won't even start. GPS is a tattle tale if you even think of trying to fly. Let's talk about the drone itself. It is 249grams which is under the FAA requirement for registration. Now if you plan on doing any videos for YouTube or other revenue avenue, you will need a Part 107 license. FYI. It comes with 3 batteries which rocks. You get about 20-25 minutes per battery. You will want to get a microSD card to record your video and pictures. You get 6 pairs of replacement blades. The Android app for DJI is not available on the Play Store. You have to sideload it from the DJI website. Easy to do, just download the app. Launch it and it will say you need to allow unknown apps. Once it installs you are good to go. The app will update itself if there is one available. Flying the drone is fairly easy but scary in the same breath. I was in an area that had a 150ft flight ceiling. I was in the flight path of our airport so you are limited to how high you can go up. I went up 53ft and seeing myself get smaller and smaller as it shot up really is kind of scary. I was so nervous of crashing it or losing it I didn't dare go any higher. I am getting better, but you just have to take it slow and get used to flying it. It may be lighter than your cellphone but that little sucker is fast if you put it in Sport mode. Cine is the slowest and gives you the best movie footage as it takes its time to record your flight. I wish I had more details about flying it but weather here in Colorado has been very windy or really cold. The batteries don't like the cold and will shorten your flight time. Keep them warm just before your go out flying. To conclude. Don't drop a lot of money on this hobby. Start off as a beginner and get to know the mini 2 first then invest in something a bit beefier. This mini 2 isn't anything to sneeze at. The 4k sensor actually takes pretty good photos and videos are nice. The air 2 and air 2s have better sensors but what you get on the mini 2 isn't bad at all. I hope this helps. Happy flying guys and gals.

Great starter Drone!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo with Controller and I am beyond impressed with its performance. The compact size and lightweight design make it incredibly easy to transport and the controller is incredibly responsive and intuitive to use. The camera quality is also outstanding, capturing stunning 4K footage with ease. I appreciate the extended flight time provided by the additional batteries included in the Fly More package, which allows me to capture more footage without the need for constant recharging. Overall, I highly recommend the DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo with Controller to anyone looking for a high-quality drone that is both easy to use and capable of capturing stunning aerial footage.

Flying ease.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Premium entry level drone. Flying is simple amd easy. The app associated with the device is a little clunky but easy enough to navigate and get up in the air quickly. Photos are high quality. It is a fairly delicate drone, it won't survive very many mishaps.

Great drone for a beginner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this for our son for Christmas 2022. It’s very easy to fly as a beginner. It’s stable and pretty much flys itself. Takes off and lands automatically. The 3 batteries gives about 1.5 hours of fly time.

Great Drone At A Great Price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super lightweight compact drone, easy to take with you anywhere. The Fly More package was definitely worth it. Camera quality is excellent. I would definitely suggest finding a youtube video to setup custom settings how you want them, and explain what they are if this is your first drone. Battery fly time around 20 minutes depending on speed you're flying at, so the 3 pack of batteries and the 3 way charger in the Fly More package is definitely needed in eyes. Only con so far would be that this drone doesnt have a follow function. Holds up pretty well to wind despite being so light.

Best DJI Drone for the Money
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned most of the DJI drones starting with the Phantom 3 Advanced. The Mini 2 has to be to best overall drone to date. It is so compact, portable, powerful and has plenty of range. The camera is also fantastic. I currently own the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Air 2. I much prefer putting the Mini 2 up in the air rather then the Mavic 2 Pro. So much easier and it does not look like you are launching a giant spaceship into the air. They all have their place and uses but the Mini 2 I believe covers all the bases.

Perfect 1st Drone - Impressions from a filmmaker
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first drone, so my review and impressions come from that point of view. They also come from the point of view of a wedding videographer and general filmmaker, so the video capabilities were really important to me. Ease of Use: While I was beyond excited to get into flying, I was also super apprehensive. What if I crash it (not many sensors on this drone)? What if I suck at flying it and it's not fun or easy to use? What if the app is a pain? So I bought the drone then didn't use it for weeks. Long story short, I've gotten it out this week and it is really simple to use! I did watch some deep dive videos on the drone to make sure I understood it, which I would highly recommend. The videos that come with the drone leave a lot to be desired if you want to learn about the drone and app from top to bottom. In terms of actually operating the flight, the app, and the video system, it is all super easy and couldn't be more simple for a complicated toy like this. Video: Surprisingly great video straight out of camera! 4K, 2K, or 1080p. You can do manual video controls like shutter speed, ISO, and Kelvin, or you can less the auto feature take care of that stuff. I like going manual, but auto can work well enough in certain conditions. Note that this is a fixed aperture lens. Range: No issues with range so far, but I have not been super bold with it yet. Value: I think this bundle has a lot of value. The extra batteries are nice, and I didn't even realize I got extra propellers until I discovered a little secret zipper pocket in the carrying bag. Luckily DJI puts a tag on there because they know its a bit hidden, lol. App: Great app, no issues using it so far. The interface is simple enough, yet detailed as well. Based on reviews from the Mini 1, having the phone mounted on the top of the controller is way better, and I've certainly got no complaints. Overall I love this drone. I expect to use it a lot. Once I get my pilot license, I will likely look to upgrade, but only for video purposes. This thing is way too portable to go looking for bigger drones willy-nilly.
