Wow, what an amazing Drone, so many great features and great quality. Unbelievalbe upgrade from mini 2. Highly recommended. Also while not under 250G, the plus batteries are so worth it. I almost didn't need the fly more package. way more flight time then generally needed.

DJI, the leader in consumer drones, as iterated their very successful mini line with a new pro version – the DJI Mini 4 Pro. This new version adds some features that are useful both for people using drone for professional photography and for the passionate recreational user who is interested in more features but still in the mini form factor. Lets open up this remarkably compact kit and find out what it can do. This review is not only on the drone, but also on the entire Fly More Plus kit. One of the major selling points of the mini line is that they are designed to come in under the FAA’s 249g registration weight limit, meaning the drone doesn’t have to be registered for recreational use. Which is where this kit somewhat puzzles me – it only includes the extended flight time Intelligent Battery Plus, which pushes the drone well over the limit and to about 290g. This means that operating the drone with any of the included batteries in this kit requires registration. As I have some other heavier drones, this was not a problem for me, but the description on Best Buy’s site and general information about the Mini 4 Pro may lead users to think that they can fly without registration when purchasing this kit. These batteries do allow a phenomenal amount of flight time, up to 45 minutes on paper, and around 40 in practice, which is incredible for such a compact drone. The rest of the kit’s accessories are the same as can be found in the non-plus version of this kit, which has the lighter batteries and does not require registration. They include 3 total Plus batteries, the charging hub, the excellent RC2 controller with a bright integrated screen, extra propellers, and a USB A to C and USB C to C cable, all packed into a very compact bag. One interesting omission is the lack of any kind of charger – DJI recommends at least 30 watts to charge the batteries in the charging hub at the highest speed. I have one around and it also fits in the bag. The fact that you can pack the complete kit in this small bag is remarkable and great for travel. The charging hub is pretty cool, it allows for charging all 3 of the included batteries, and it can be used to charge other devices, including the RC or a phone, making it into a battery bank if you need power in a pinch in the field. The RC2 is also really nice. The screen is big and bright, and it allows for fully integrated control of the drone without having to connect a phone. Having only used the other kind of controller before that requires the phone to be tethered, I really appreciate how well this one works. Unpacking the drone there are two pieces of protective gear included, a propeller guard and a gimbal cover. The propeller guard is a little tricky, at least on mine, closing it requires a decent amount of pressure on the button clasp, which worries me a little as I don’t want to crush the drone’s folded legs. A magnetic clasp might have been better here. There are also a couple of protective bits of peel away tape and foam pads around the camera and gimbal assembly. Be careful removing these as the gimbal is a somewhat fragile assembly. The drone itself is packed with sensors. This little guy somehow has full omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, a downward facing auxiliary LED, and IR assisted ground sensors. All this in a drone that can fit under the 249g weight limit. It’s really remarkable. In flight, it is very stable, a hallmark of DJI drones. The Mini 4 Pro is also one of the quieter drones I have used, which combined with the small size, makes for a less obtrusive drone than some other larger professional models. It’s designed to be an aerial camera, not a sport drone, so expect stability and predictability over acrobatics. You can feel a little flex in the outer shell – it is made of very thin material to keep it light. There is a rigid under frame that is the actual structure of the drone. It has all of the usual hallmarks of the higher end series of DJI drones, with a built-in set of special effect style shots such as hyperlapse, helix, rocket, etc. It also can lock in to and track objects while doing dynamic angles and distances, and the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance really comes to play here as it can avoid or stop itself before it runs into something while following a subject. Of course, very narrow objects like power lines and thin tree branches may not be picked up, so always fly with caution and don’t rely on the sensors to avoid a crash. The drone features a camera with a 1/1.3” sensor that has a maximum resolution of 48mp. In practice, this means very high dynamic range 12mp photos, the possibility of 48mp still shots (some detail is lost if fully zooming into the image), and 4k video up to 100fps. Some of the video options, like 10-bit color, D-Log M, and up to 150mbps video rates allow for extensive post processing to create truly professional results from a mini class drone. The final outputs from these modes are great, with rich color straight out of the camera. I did notice in some lighting conditions that there is some lens flare from the multi-element lens. This camera also has a bit of a magic trick. With the press of a button, it physically rotates 90 degrees, allowing for portrait orientation photo and video recording at high resolution. This is awesome for social media content creators who want full detail on videos or stills that are headed to phones. The other really cool thing it can do is rotate up to 65 degrees upwards, allowing for some amazing angles of the sky, up into trees or embankments, etc. This unlocks a lot more options for capturing shots near or above the horizon line. Overall, this drone is very impressive. It has a huge amount of capability in a small package that can produce professional results and be under the FAA registration limit. This kit, having the Plus extended capacity batteries, pushes the drone over the weight limit and that may be a consideration for some. The included charging hub and the RC2 controller are excellent accessories that really increase the overall value of this kit. Personally, I really enjoy it and the extra flight time is great, but some may be better served with the non-Plus version of this kit that can stay under the FAA’s registration limit.

This was my first drone and it’s far exceeded my expectations. The amount of R & D and technology DJI put into these things really makes it an almost foolproof and satisfying experience. From your first flight to transferring and creating pleasing videos is all very intuitive. I like it so much I’m buying a backup, have also purchased an Avata 2 (which I have the same praise for). Make sure you get the “fly more” combo because you’re going to want to fly more!

I appreciate being able to share videos instantly without needing to post-process, which is perfect for keeping my social media feeds fresh with high-quality content straight from the camera. Safety while flying has always been a concern, but the omnidirectional obstacle sensing of the Mini 4 Pro provides peace of mind. Its precise detection capabilities allow me to fly with confidence, knowing that the drone is much better equipped to avoid unexpected obstacles. This feature is invaluable, especially for someone like me who enjoys pushing the boundaries of where I can fly. The extended battery life is another standout feature. Longer flights mean more opportunities to capture the perfect shot, and the Mini 4 Pro delivers beautifully. Battery anxiety is a thing of the past, allowing me to explore and shoot without constantly worrying about running out of power. The 20km FHD video transmission capability is astonishing. Being able to immerse myself in real-time aerial footage with such clarity and without lag enhances the flying experience tremendously. It feels like I'm up there with the drone, exploring the skies and landscapes from a bird's eye view. Lastly, the ActiveTrack 360° with the new Trace Mode has made intelligent tracking a breeze. Customizing the drone's tracking trajectory for complex shots is now incredibly easy, even for a beginner like me. The seamless operation effects have significantly improved the quality of my videos, making them appear much more professional. In conclusion, the DJI Mini 4 Pro is a phenomenal drone that strikes the perfect balance between portability and power. Its features cater to both pros and beginners, making it an excellent investment for anyone serious about aerial photography and videography. I'm beyond impressed with what this little drone can do and cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking to elevate their aerial content creation game.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my new drone! I upgraded from a DJI Mavic Pro 1 to this. It is SUPER easy to use! The screen in the remote is MUCH easier to use. I love the charging station and having 3 batteries. The remote battery last a long time. Today I did two drone shoots of real estate properties and still had battery left. My favorite part is how you can have it do a 2 minute video where I set my parameters and it does it for me. No jerky movements from user error. Very professional looking videos.

By far one of my best drones by far! The range is beyond excellent! Camera is truly amazing! In normal mode it positions itself steady and stable. Controller is very smooth and response is excellent. Controller screen is very detailed and crystal clear even in bright light. Battery is by far one of the best features!

I purchased the DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus with the RC 2 Remote Control expecting a top-tier, compact drone with robust safety features, including omnidirectional obstacle sensing and Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS). While the drone itself has many great features, I encountered a serious issue with the collision avoidance system, which led to an unexpected crash. The Good Portability & Build Quality: The Mini 4 Pro is lightweight and easy to transport, making it a great choice for on-the-go flying. Camera Performance: The 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor delivers stunning 4K 60fps video and 48MP stills. The HDR and night shooting capabilities are impressive. RC 2 Remote Control: Having a built-in screen eliminates the need for a phone, making setup and flying more streamlined. Battery Life: The Fly More Combo Plus includes longer-lasting batteries, which extend flight time significantly. The Crash & Obstacle Avoidance Failure Despite the advertised omnidirectional obstacle sensing, I experienced a major issue during a flight when the drone crashed into a tree. The obstacle avoidance system did not detect the branches, and instead of stopping or rerouting, the drone flew directly into them. After reviewing the footage and flight logs, I found that: The obstacle detection failed to recognize thin branches—a common issue with vision-based sensors. Obstacle avoidance might not work in certain modes, such as ActiveTrack or manual control, depending on settings. The drone did not trigger an automatic stop or reroute, despite the tree being in clear view.

Highly recommend! This is my first drone, and I couldn’t be happier! Tutorials are great, it takes great picture and video, and it’s easy to fly! Before you buy insurance, make sure it covers for flyaway instances. The insurance that DJI offers directly does just that! I hope I don’t have to use it, but it gives me a lot more confidence and comfort to know it’s there in case I need it! Make sure you buy the handheld remote control with a screen Dash I’m sure it’s a nightmare using a cell phone as the controller /screen. I feel it’s a great price point for what I got.

Love this drone if your a beginner or a pro this is perfect just to have at all times! Highly recommend the fly more combo as you will get around 40 mins flight time says 47 but more around the 40 range. Other then that the range on this thing is just insane camera quality out of the water ! If your looking for great things in a small package this is for you

Just a great drone to buy. It's my first drone and I couldn't be happier. Flies great and the batteries are awesome. Took me a bit to get accustomed to the smart controller but it's easy now. I highly recommend this drone!

The best drone package at an awesome price. The most user-friendly drone I've ever flown. The extra batteries allow more expanded flight time and the multi-charge charger allows quick recharge. The built in screen allows for clear crisp images while flying.

This package comes with 3 batteries, that gives you about 75 to 80 minutes of flight time. More than enough for the itch to fly. Image quality is very sharp, great for landscape photos from the sky.

I have had and resold the DJI Phantom 4, Mavic Platinum, Air 2. I still have an Air 2S and my all time favorite the Mini 2 which while not the best of those was my favorite and most used. I held off getting the Mini 3 Pro because it didn’t have the 360 obstacle avoidance, the 4 Pro finally does and so I picked up the DJI Mini 4 Pro plus fly more bundle. I have only used it a few times of which I was amazed how well it tracked me in obstacle avoidance mode. I like the smart controller over using my IPhone, the brightness is enough, 700 nits. This Drone will surely be my new favorite although I will still keep my Air 2S and the Mini 2 as this doesn’t need to be registered as its is under 249 grams. I expect it produces just as amazing videos and images as my Air 2S. The one thing about these smaller drones over the larger ones is the stealthiness and quietness of which unless you fly directly over areas were people are they can not be heard very easily. I don’t mind talking to people about drones and sharing information but it gets a little daunting and privacy is important to me. I definitely recommend this drone just follow the rules, get you safety certificate on FAA drone zone site so you don’t get in trouble for breaking laws. Good luck.

This drone is amazing! I bought this for my son's 15th birthday and have no regrets! This is his first non-toy drone. I did a lot of research before buying and we couldn't be happier. The range is excellent, the camera is excellent, the battery life is excellent and the drone has a ton of features. The drone is a lot tougher than expected (needless to say it's been crashed) and the propellers are easy to change out. Whether flying for fun or professionally this drone won't disappoint.

I work in emergency management and I wanted something that fell into the “249 grams” category so I didn’t have to worry about Part 107. This little drone was the perfect tool for the job, and it allows my office to conduct investigations that either don’t allow us to get close to a scene, or if we need photos from above for investigations, and the excellent camera quality gives us a crisp view of what’s happening. The range is GREAT, and it was a big decision factor when I made the purchase. The extra pieces and equipment that came with the bundle are a lifesaver because it contains extra batteries and things like propellers, just in case we need them, so we can successfully complete the task at hand. I’m VERY happy with my purchase, and highly recommend a DJI product to anyone, even if you need it for unusual business type stuff like I do. Price is fair given what you get as well, and Best Buy is a local business so keep your business local! Support local businesses!

Best drone for any videos and pictures, I mainly use it for recording car video content but can be used for literally anything, no issues at all and very easy to learn to use for beginners as well, I would recommend to get the one with the fly more package because it comes with more batteries and a nicer controller

Only have had to drone for three weeks so far and it is a blast to fly. Coming from the Mavic 2 Zoom(a much heavier drone) I was worried about the drone being able to fly in more windy conditions but this drone held its own. I have been able to fly twice as far as my M2Z without even losing a bar on my connection from the remote it just seems more reliable and I feel more comfortable flying at further distances not that I do that often. The camera and options and the newer technology is awesome I am a amature and more of a hobbyist I use Davinici Resolve to edit and color grade and I record at 4k 30fps and have had no issues editing any of the video. but so far its been a great purchase. The only thing I don't like is you have to screw the props on instead of the push down twist and lock so I have to carry the small screwdriver that comes with... seems it would a little lighter if it was the twist and lock system. Otherwise I would not hesitate to purchase the Mini's that are to come in the future.

By far the best DJI drone to date. I purchased a a couple drones in the past and this one is a keeper. Very easy to use with the Built in screen display, it makes flying the drone so much more intuitive and easy to control. Very compact size and great video quality. Used it recently on an international trip and captured stunning area video. VERY VERY happy with it and would highly recommend purchase for the novice or expert drone pilot. Worth ever bit of the cost for the bundle pack.
