Fantastic Camera and solid gimble for starter

The DJI Osmo+ 4K is a fantastic total package. If you are shooting footage on a phone with a basic gimble, this is a huge upgrade. You will be able to capture high quality 4K footage while keeping everything as stable as possible. It is ready to go out of the box and all the learning curve is minimal. Even if you've never used a gimble, an hour or so of experimenting should get you ready for your first video. The controls are intuitive and easy to reach. Many smartphone gimbles move the start/stop recording button to the menu on the phone itself but having a dedicated button on the Osmo+ really smooths out the operation. The trigger on the backside of the device is versatile and right where you need it. Flipping the camera into selfie mode is smooth and while it isn't the main purpose I purchased it for, it would come in handy in the right scenario. As far as the footage itself, the camera really excels. It does lack the versatility for all situations that a DSLR might offer but you are investing less money so there will naturally be a tradeoff. I've been able to capture and upload awesome 4K videos to YouTube within days of purchasing the Osmo+. Color corrections and lighting enhancement can be done in post so I wasn't scrambling for more versatility from this unit myself. The zoom is also a great feature but you will want to get comfortable with the operation of the thumbstick first. Lastly, I'll add that while the base Osmo+ is good, it really become a great unit with the wealth of accessories from DJI. If you are even remotely considering the Z-axis stabilizer, buy it. The extension arms and mounting brackets are also worth their price. If there is any negative it may be battery life. While I've never run out, I was concerned enough after the first shoot that I immediately found a deal on batteries and purchased two additional.

Great camera, light and very easy to use. I was familiar with the previous model and was pleased that this one has even better features. I wish this one locked the gimble in all 3 areas like the previous one does. But the quality is amazing and its a very fluid camera.

This setup isn't going to blow you out of the water, it has its quirks and features and is not the greatest gimbal setup ever but, ultimately it does the job. The time it takes to go from case to recording footage is not for spontaneous and constant on-off action. The battery doesn't quite last long so I would recommend getting extras if you plan on recording for more than 40 minutes. It however, is great at stabilizing video and allows you to get some nice footage. Learning how to properly work the gimbal and controls takes some practice but if you're looking for a simple way to get great stabilized footage this is a nice beginning. On another note, the gimbal absolutely sucks in low lighting. Other than that it does what it's supposed to do and I can't complain. Combined with a little editing and you can make some nice films/videos.

    Works, but not professional quality

I use a DJI Phantom 4 Advanced (P4A) drone in my aerial imaging service and I wanted something to capture photos and videos that I cannot do with my P4A. I decided to give the Osmo Mobile a try. It works well for what it is designed for, stabilized photos and videos. For most people this will probably work very well, but it didn’t fit my needs. The camera does have zoom, which is a huge plus (I guess that’s why they call it the plus, the regular Osmo doesn’t have zoom), but the camera has a 1/2.3” camera sensor, which is what the Phantom 3 series and original Phantom 4 have. For non-professional use, it’s great, but the Phantom 4 Advanced and Pro use a 1” sensor and the difference is noticeable. The 1/2.3 sensor is quite a bit larger than a smartphone, so the results are better than a smartphone. This device will not take out all the up and down motion when walking or running, but it will smooth it out quite a bit. You would need to add the Z-Axis device to smooth mostly remove that. Good device, a little pricey, for most needs. I would recommend it for non-professional use. The next step up would be the Osmo Pro at around $1999.

This camera has amazing capabilities, but I personally found it too complicated, heavy and cumbersome for my amateur abilities. Your required to attach a smartphone as a viewer and the battery life is low. The heavy weight also makes this a one armed workout. I would recommend this to a videographer who wants all the options, but not to the casual hobbyist. I’m sticking with GoPro products.

Good stabilizer, Nice and flat video, you must have connected any mobile device in order to full control the camera parameters, not good for quick and nice focused shots, the camera is totally free oh water and humidity since it has a small open air fan on rear that easily can suck small dust, water drops, etc. Poor battery efficiency, you need to have it turned on in order to connect USB cable to your PC, wireless file transfer is slow and consume your battery while doing nothing. it is not possible to charge batteries with the gimbal you need to take batteries out.

dji makes an insanely good handheld gimbal, the osmo+ is the way to go because of its zoom capabilities. I also have a GoPro karma and I fancy this gimbal over that one. they are simply for different scenarios thats all

I was surprised by this camera system. It was a bit of a trick to get it to work at first, but turns out I just downloaded the wrong app from DJI, so make sure you download "DJI GO", NOT "DJI GO 4". It's a bit grainy in low light conditions, but it sure is smooth! Takes a bit of getting used to, but the controls are very customizable to allow you to get confident with using it. I recommend getting accessory arms so you can add a real microphone (not the silly little one that is included, but that is nice they include that so you at least have some audio), and extra batteries.

This is an excellent camera but too expensive for what it does. The problem I have with the camera is it is bulky and not convenient. It also kills the battery on your phone as well as the Osmo itself. You are better off going with another Camcorder.

Image quality is quite satisfactory for a system at this level. The gimbal truly shines. DJI did an excellent job with the tracking and stabilization controls. App is a little fussy, as all dji apps are, but no show stoppers. Altogether very satisfied for a small simple self stabilizing run and gun camera system.

Good camera, does a great job with videos and photos. Problem is it is dependent on your phone. For me my phone, Droid Turbo 2, struggles to keep up with it. There is is some lage. It is not quick for action. But it does have amazing quaility when everything works. Expensive for what it is. Phone cameras have come a long ways.

Hey Matt. Sorry your experience hasn't been perfect using your Droid Turbo. We recommend using a more powerful device since DJI GO is such a powerful app. Glad you're enjoying it when it is working perfectly. DJISupport

This was a good item and the video quality was very nice. I enjoyed using the DJU software for this creating timelapse. The only issue or shall I say major issue was the low light performance and slow auto focus. I thought this was a good platform but DJI stopped supporting it.

I had the original product of the osmo but decided to upgrade to the Osmo+. Some of the improvents over the original is that it a zoom feature between 22-76 as well as a timelapse and better for vlogs over the original one now that it has continued auto focus. I really like this gimbal due to the fact that you can just turn it on and get smooth video rather than trying to balance a camera and the gimbal. Really happy with the product.

I haven't gotten to use it much yet, but I did record a play for someone. I think I need to continue playing around with it to know how it really works. It seemed easy to use and followed actions shots fairly easy. Just for myself I still need to figure things out. When I loaded the video to my computer it recorded in segments as if I had stopped and started but I had not.
