The camera itself seems fine but the low number is because you are forced to agree to the terms that you might find ridiculous like agreeing to remote killing your camera and other access abilities. So this is more to let who ever considers this product know what they have to deal with before dropping 500 bucks

I know DJI products and if someone registers the product and then returns it, it is locked to that account unless it is specifically removed from the account it was registered to. I cannot be factor reset or unattached by anyone else, even DJI. With that said, I purchased this unit as an excellent condition open box. However it came registered already. When I went to the store I had a Geek Squad and one Asst. Manager say they would just do an exchange. The box was clearly marked as an open box but they did not have any. When I returned to the counter with a new in box that took 20 mins to track down a floor associate for, the manager was no where to be found and the front counter associate made a stance that it could not be an even exchange. I somewhat get that even though I believe an excellent condition open box should be treated as new if it was sold with an issue, but instead of working with me to do an even exchange by accommodating a reorder of another excellent condition open box the front desk clerk made a scene about the return, for which I chose to just return it and order another one myself.

    Stunning Clarity and Great Stabilization

First and foremost, if you are uncomfortable downloading apps that aren't available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, DO NOT get a DJI product. You will have to download the APK from the DJI website and allow third party app downloads. Please also check the compatibility with your phone through their website to make sure you're able to download the software. This action camera is awesome with stunning clarity, great stabilization even without a gimble, and fantastic battery life. This model also comes with built in storage so no need to purchase a separate SD card on first use but I would still recommend to use an SD card so recording time can increase. I purchased an additional chest mount and have been using on my trail runs and mountain bike adventures. The stability on the trail runs is great but you have to toggle the extra stabilization option through the settings to get the best outcome on your video. If you have to film a fast moving subject, this action camera has extremely reliable subject tracking so you can stay on frame. I initially tried this with my dogs while they were playing and caught some incredibly hilarious moments. I am not a seasoned vlogger but I do like to travel and travel often with my wife. I recently took this action camera on a trip to Las Vegas and was able to capture certain aspects of our trip that I believed would be memorable. This bundle comes with 3 extra batteries, a charging case, a quick release adapter mount, an extension rod so you can hold the camera in front of you, and the microphone was phenomenal. Overall, I have had a lot of fun with this action camera and can't wait to use on my upcoming trip to Japan.

The DJI - -Osmo Action 5 Pro 4K Action Camera is a beast of an action camera. I really could not be more impressed by the camera itself. I have the Action 4 camera, and I thought that one was good. This one is not just good it is great. The video quality is superb beyond belief. Let's talk about the camera's unboxing. Of course, it's DJI so it comes in a very fancy box and the camera itself comes in its only box. Then the batteries and battery case come in their own box. Then if you're like me, I just destroy the boxes to get the items out of them. Once they were out, I realized I had to go buy a Micro SD card, so off to Best Buy I go to buy one. I put all the batteries on the charger while I did that, one battery was fully charged within approximately one hour. I put the camera in the protective case, after of course inserting the battery and MicroSD Card. Once it was on, it was time to open up the DJI App on the phone and follow the directions. The instructions were very easy to follow and understand. It did have to do some updates which took approximately 5 minutes. Once those were done, it was on to shoot a few videos. They came out absolutely Amazing. The video quality with normal hand shaking and person shaking (The camera was being held on by a chest piece adapter), the camera's built-in stabilizing is phenomenal. I was really impressed. I can't wait to use this, during the winter when snowboarding with my kids.

My First Action Camera. Simple to Use

This is my first small action camera, and I was really excited to get it. I wanted something to capture video of me and my family when we’re out and about, and the Osmo Action 5 Pro is perfect for that. I love its small, compact size, which makes it easy to bring along on any outing. Setting up the Osmo Action 5 Pro was easy. It connected to my phone smoothly through the app, and after a quick firmware update, I was ready to start filming. I took the camera on a short hike near my house, and the video quality was fantastic. I’m not a professional, so this camera is perfect for my needs. The touch screen is responsive and precise, and the features are easy to understand and use. I haven’t tried the waterproof feature yet – I’m a little nervous to test it in the pool or ocean, but I’ll give it a shot soon. One of my favorite features is the dual screens. It’s great to be able to see what I’m filming or take a quick selfie without flipping the camera around. It’s easy to use, even when I need to adjust settings quickly. The battery lasts around 90 to 100 minutes for me before I need to switch it out, but that’s mostly because I’m filming in 4K. Overall highly recommend this for anyone looking for a small action camera.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro 4K Action Camera with additional batteries and charging case are a direct competitor for other small cameras on the market, but with this bundle, you have the ability to record longer, and worry less about what you're capturing. Featuring touch screen panels on the front and back side of the camera, you are always in control. I chose to charge the batteries to full capacity before using - when I opened up the battery storage case, all three battery charge indicators were orange. I charged them till they were all green and then inserted them into the camera. To get the best set up, you need to download the DJI Mimo app, which will give you the ability to set up and configure your camera further, use your phone as another live screen, download and store your footage right away and many many more features. The camera, once set up has a really nice screen on the front and back, you can clearly see what is going on, they are very responsive as well. Being as the rear screen covers the whole camera, I choose to add screen protectors to the front screen, the back screen and also the lens of the camera as well to make sure they are all suitably protected. I've also installed the included 'cage' that goes around the camera for drop protection. I initially took some footage around my home, and I was absolutely most impressed with it's dark light, low light video capabilities. It really has the ability to capture stunning footage in low light situations with little to no artifacts on screen, low visible noise, but just great quality pictures. The first time I used it at an event was a Corvette meet, on a warm, bright sunny day, where the light compensation worked really well, showing superb detailing in chrome work on old Corvettes, that wasn't overblown or hunting for the right color balance, to vibrant blue skies around the whole event. 4K at 60fps was stunning, and the 'Rocksteady' feature, which while isn't a true image stabilization setting, did really smooth out the motion from me walking up and down the isles at the Corvette meet quite well indeed. It picked up nice, crisp audio along the way too, without the need for any additional mics or wind socks. The included onboard storage was absolutely fine for what I needed, but you can boost that with an additional memory card, and you can also download to a storage device or your phone quickly. The included selfie stick is nice, I wish it had a tripod stand integrated into it, that would be nice. It does come with a couple of adapters, to stick the camera onto surfaces like a helmet or the likes. And there are a whole host of mounting options available for the camera as well. Overall, I am extremely happy with the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro camera, I will be using it in conjunction with a DJI Neo on an upcoming trip to the UK and look forward to grabbing a whole host of footage from both sources.

    Great Action Cam

I’m a fan of DJI products and own and love the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. As a result I had high expectations for the DJI Osmo 4K Action 5 Pro. I was not disappointed and was equally impressed by this action cam. DJI makes high quality products and the Action 5 is no exception. Mine is the Adventure Bundle version which is a no brainer purchase since it includes a great selection of accessories at a modest price increase over the standard cam. You get a total of 3 1950 mAh extreme plus batteries, a multifunction charging battery case which holds 3 batteries, 2 magnetic quick release mounts, 2 locking screws, a protective frame, a 1.5m extension rod / selfie stick, a usb c cable, a curved adhesive base, and a action anti-slip pad. I think that’s a ton of value for your money particularly to have 2 extra batteries and a charging case which doubles as a power bank which can charge your other mobile devices in a pinch. Note that there is no microsd card included in this bundle but you’re ready to record anyway, because the Action 5 Pro is equipped with 47GB of internal storage. This is fantastic upgrade compared to the competition. No need to ever worry about forgetting your SD card. Setup is easy. Just pop in a battery and turn the cam on. You’re prompted to get the DJI Mimo app and to activate your camera. DJI Mimo is super nice and full featured app and is a perfect compliment to DJI products. You’re also prompted to update your cameras firmware which was quick and easy. Once complete you’re ready to roll. I have owned action cams before and I use them them for recreational and work related activities. I’ve recorded bike rides, hikes, vacations, pets, amusement park rides, water sports, work presentations, training videos, presentations, nature time lapse videos, etc. I intend to do all of the above with the Action 5 Pro. Upon using the Action 5, I was immediately impressed. The build quality is exceptional. It feels pretty indestructible as you would hope for in an action cam. The cam has a multitude of settings and the menu is extremely intuitive to use. Just swipe to find your resolution and capture mode settings. You can also switch modes using the Quick Switch button on the side of the camera and you can even use voice commands to start and stop recording. The OLED display brightness is 1,000 nits and are super bright and crisp even in bright sunlight. Its waterproof to 65.6 feet which makes for some great underwater creativity. The Action 5 Pro has a 40 megapixel 1/1.3 sensor which can capture up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range. I found video quality to be stunning with beautifully sharp and saturated 4K video. For me one of the highlights of the Action 5 Pro is its low light capabilities. I recorded some night street scenes which I was skeptical would look good due to low light in the areas I was recording but which ultimately looked exceptionally good. This low light flexibility is so important if you’re perhaps on vacation and recording in a bunch of environments with various levels of ambient lighting. With the Action 5 you don’t need to worry about getting a great shot regardless of light. Just make a day of it and look forward to some great footage documenting your adventures. Some would say that you can get very close to the same level of video with just a cell phone. This is true in a sense but the Action 5 provides so many additional benefits and features beyond your phone’s camera. Including, image quality with 4K video up to 120 fps, great low light performance from the 1/1.3 sensor, amazing time lapse and slow motion capabilities, RockSteady 3.0 stabilization for super smooth footage in all condition, and HorizonSteady for impressive horizon correction. Then of course throw in the waterproof capabilities to 20m, the dual DJI microphone support, and it’s ruggedized body and frame and no cell phone can compete. In fact, neither can the action cam competition. You won’t be disappointed.

I would like to think I am an avid user of action cameras stemming all the way back to when GoPro was the only player in the space, pretty sure it was the hero 3! The offerings in this category have changed a ton and with this newest version of the DJI action, competition has never been stronger for this camera segment. When you think of the Action line iterations from the Action 3 to Action 4 there was marginal upgrade, BUT when you compare the 3 versions, the 5 Pro takes significant leaps in what this camera is capable of vs the prior 4th generation. Battery life, video resolution, screen brightness and max photo resolution are all serious gains from the Action 4 to 5 Pro. For anyone using action cameras all these boil down to supporting the argument for best action camera EVER! At least until next generations! For me personally, the image quality and battery life are the two main selling points when you consider over the past 3 generations camera dimensions and weight have been constant. A feat to high five DJI engineers over for sure! I also enjoy the camera interface over GoPro as well as the mobile app. DJI has done a wonderful job of supporting the newer users with intuitive interfaces but allows the savvy to get wicked creative with manual settings to get the most epic content. The switch to OLED makes all the difference when it comes to being able to interact with the camera touchscreen to manipulate modes and settings. This is the future of action camera screens. Additionally, one unique element for DJI action cameras is the quick release mount design, which is a combination of magnets and physical clips, together this makes mounting and attaching the camera to all accessories super quick and connections are sturdy. SuperNight mode is enhanced with the 5 Pro and my experience has been positive. There have been a few neat opportunities between aurora borealis and super moon timing to really challenge using this camera in lower light environments, I can confidently say it didn’t disappoint. I can’t say its perfect as it uses AI to “enhance” but if you compare to past generations improvements are made to support capturing action in lower light. One of the new features for the 5 Pro is subject tracking, I have only scratched the surface on using this feature but following one of my sons around our local mountain bike trail was way for fun for me because the camera kept him in focus in front of me, something I had to do more manually in the past with older models. The slow motion and time lapse (hyper lapse) settings remain the same but have enhanced video settings and are super fun to utilize to spice up getting some really fun videos. Another new feature is DJI adding a professional-grade pressure sensor to allow users the ability to overlay their altitude or depth when under water during all recordings. This element adds another way to summarize your outdoor activity. I did have to manually calibrate mine the first time using to ensure accuracy. For anyone expecting to put this camera though its paces and use it like it was intended to be used, plan on getting the adventure bundle. The extra batteries and “selfie” pole will both become excellent additions to your gear. I use both constantly! Overall, I highly recommend the Action 5 Pro to anyone looking for a rock solid, adventure ready action camera to capture all their outdoor moments. DJI is continuing to make a name for itself with quality products. I am excited to continue using this to capture all the adventures we have planned.

The Best of the Best in Action Cameras

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is a super standout in this new generation of Osmo action cameras. There are some passive features with this generation that really separate it from its competitors in my testing. I am not a wizard video editor. I do have experience dating back to high school when I took years of TV Production classes, but in general I am just an enthusiast who doesn’t have the time to invest into color grading and intense video editing sessions. I just want to fire this camera up, go to one of my presets and start filming. So, if you are like me, just wants to setup the basic settings like what framerates, resolutions, and put most things on auto, then listen up because this review is for you. Most of my filming has been in 4K60 and 4K30 with things like shutter speed set to auto. In my testing this camera has adapted beautifully in all lighting conditions to provide a useable image. I have used it while freediving in clear water where I go into shaded and bright areas. Regardless of the underwater lighting conditions the camera always adjusted lightning quick and provided a usable image for a quick edit. I also briefly tested the low light performance, and I was blown away with how great it was for such a small camera. If you tend to film in lower light conditions then you will be very impressed with what this camera is capable of. Talking about filming underwater, there is a new feature on this camera that makes it a gamechanger for freedivers and even shallow water diving. With other action cameras typically, you hit the depth limit around 30ft without a dedicated housing. Even for freediving that’s pretty shallow. It makes a housing a necessity or requires you to keep the diving shallow. With this new DJI camera you get a little more than 60ft. In the freediving world that’s astronomical. For most recreational freedivers that is near their limits which gives you lots of peace of mind. Battery life has always been a struggle with these small action cameras. One of the most mind-blowing aspects of this DJI camera is that I never really think about battery life anymore. If I have the three included batteries charged with the Adventure Combo, then I haven’t had a single issue. I get several hours of filming out of each battery which I have never experienced before with action cameras. The build of the OSMO Action 5 Pro is extremely well designed and built. The size of the front display is excellent and allows you to keep yourself in frame when self-filming. The rear display is bright and very responsive. I love the brightness because most of my filming is outdoors in sunny Florida. The bottom mount is different from what I’m used to but it’s a great system for mounting. It looks like it can be adapted for use with other action cameras mounting systems also, that’s a huge plus. If you want a camera that runs for hours on a single charge, performs well in low light, has excellent video features, and just works, then you probably cannot find a better action camera right now. I have no experienced a single hiccup during my testing and have been blown away by what this camera is capable of. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you go with the OSMO Action 5 Pro.

    The best of its kind...

I used GoPro before and then tried Insta 360 Go3S but none of them got enough to get over 3 stars from me. This A5Pro is truly a 5 star product so far... Could it get any better in the future? Sure, God knows what DJI will come up with for A6Pro and then A7Pro and so on and on... But as of 2024-2025 season this "IS" the action camera to purchase... Especially if you get the Adventure Bundle! 3 batteries, 18 minute charge time to 80% level in its quick charger, 48 GB Internal storage in addition to whatever capacity micro SD card you add on to it. Unbelievable image quality whether sunny or cloudy day or even night time... Whether you are a Beginner, intermediate or pro at whatever you plan to do with a camera this A5Pro will make you feel like a pro! I use a 128GB micro SD Card and that gives me 2,5 hr recording time at 4k resolution... When and if that fills up then you can switch to internal storage for almost another hr of recording. 3,5 hr recording without even switching a memory card or battery is unheard of between other brands. One of the most important things to me was the "OVERHEATING" issue the GoPro and Insta 360Go3s was suffering from. They were shutting down due to overheating while I was just trying to record a 3-5 minute long scenery clip while I am flying with an error message on the screen. Yes, I am a pilot and I record scenery videos while flying but not when the camera overheats and shuts it off. Other cameras were suffering the heat issue after 30 minutes and they were like holding a hot potato! Especially Insta 360 GO3S...and after 45 minutes recording (not continuously) they were shutting off. I recorded longer clips with this A5Pro for 2 hrs with no heat related issues whatsoever. That sold me there! I knew I did the right thing buying this DJI OSMO ACTION 5 PRO, if you buy one, you'll feel the same!

DJI Osmo Action Pro 5- I have resisted getting one of these camera for a long time. I travel a lot and found my iPhone just as effect as an all in one package vs carrying around more stuff. However, I finally gave in and looked into these action cameras. I am glad I did because I consider it an improvement in video quality. The DJI comes with a portable charger and 3 batteries, a sturdy clip in metal style case, barrel holder, and cables. Nothing needed extra to buy, expect maybe an SD card for more memory. It has a front screen for selfies and a full sized back touch screen- the front is also touch screen just smaller but works well for selfies. The screens are bright and sharp and is OLED. The menu is mostly intuitive, but I have found it a challenge sometimes. The clip-in case has an excellent feel, does add some bulk to the camera but is a must have to protect the camera. The battery charging case is efficient, and charges quickly, up to all three battery at one time. Battery life in the camera is decent, and I haven't used it long enough for single shoots to run out of battery- yet- but its good to know back up is nearby. It is rated at about 4 hrs. The camera will shut itself off if not in use. The camera is awesome in terms of quality of pictures/ videos, and the sound is extremely good. I played around with image stabilization and it really worked well. The camera includes an adhesive mount so it could be used in the car as a dash cam of sorts, or on a helmit for shoots. Night shots are quite good and bright days are not an issue. I really like this camera, and although it will be something else to carry around, I think it will be well worth the effort.

I'll preface this with the fact that I use a motorcycle for my daily transportation needs, and as such it's not really possible to have a dash-cam, so the next best thing is an action camera mounted either on my person, or on the bike. That being said, the Osmo Action 5 Adventure bundle is great for this, the included pack of 3 rechargeable batteries gives me peace of mind on days I need to travel longer distances, I don't particularly have a use for the stick mount that it comes with, but if you are a hiker or a vlogger I can see the use, it's sturdy and extends out nicely. The mounting clip has strong magnets in addition to the physical latch that it attaches with which gives it a sturdy connection that I am pretty confident it isn't going to accidentally come off from. This same connector is on the helmet mount included as well. The included bumper case is pretty sturdy but with how much of this camera is screen I don't think it's going to be all that great in preventing the camera from getting damaged in a more aggressive fall or tumble. But so long as it lands anywhere but the screen or lens, it's probably enough. Overall camera performance is good, the low light performance is a lot better than I was expecting, and since I work before the sun comes up, it's nice to know if something were to happen on my morning ride, I'll have footage that is useable. Just have to remember to set it to low light mode ahead of time. In it's normal recording mode it isn't terrible low light performance but it doesn't transition between dark and bright environments amazingly well. But I don't think any cameras are really great at that, my own eyes arent even that good at that lol. And I was pleasantly surprised to find there's enough built in storage space for just shy of 3 hours of recording time, I don't have a lot of SD cards on hand right now that are fast enough to record at full quality on any of my cameras, so this was a happy find that let me get right into using it out of the box without stealing an SD card from another device. Definitely recommend actually using an SD card in the long run, flash memory is a consumable and does wear out over time and repeated use, so for the longevity of the camera overall, definitely stick to SD cards, but in a pinch this will let you record a good amount of footage. There's a companion app you can download as well, that lets you control the camera, it's settings, and transfer footage to your phone, or tablet, It's functional and does what it says on the tin, and I haven't had any issues with it crashing or locking up my phone. I'm more used to DJI as a drone brand than anything else, so overall I was impressed with how solid this action camera is. Will need to pick up a couple extra bits of mounting hardware to get the most out of it, but this kit will get you started nicely.

I would recommend this to a friend
