Was a big BIG fan of the Osmo Mobile 2; a year and a half after purchasing, the gimbal rotor began malfunctioning, so I returned it to my Best Buy in order to receive the Osmo Mobile 3 as the replacement (w/Geek Squad warranty which I purchased.) That process was seamless. There is a bit of a learning curve with the OM3, if you're coming from the 2nd gen. The tripod being included in the kit is a nice change, as is the soft shell carry-case. (The OM2 did not include one.) The biggest innovation/change from the OM2 to the OM3 however, is the collapse feature, which, frankly, I'm not sure I'm that big a fan of. When folding the arm towards the handle for stowing, you really do feel as if you're going to break your new toy. The secure tension grip is updated as well, but this too is not so much an "update" in my opinion, as it is a change. I found the OM2's tension grip to be much more accommodating than the OM3's. And of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that there is NEW companion software, which feels less intuitive than what I was used to. In short, yes, it's a good replacement (as fulfillment for a defective item) BUT, if you have an OM2 that still works, I wouldn't rush to replace it. I'd trade the OM3 for the OM2 in a heartbeat!

got it for my son who loves photography. Works well but does loose the subject tracking if you move it too fast. Sturdy feeling and rechargeable battery lasts a long time. Good at facial recognition. Takes practice to make it work right. Good but not great. Hopefully the next version will clean up some of the slow response. For general use (not sports) would work great.

Only get this if you’re using 11 pro max or lower. If you are using iPhone 12. Models you’ll need to take your case off of course, but since the new phone have that squared off design again, the clamp on this model doesn’t seem to fit that well. However, using this with my 11 pro max, this works great!
