A little pricey for the video quality. Multiple setting changes to improve the video quality but still not the quality I expected. I like the small form factor. Walking is noticable (up and down) in the video unless you hold like a full glass of water to prevent the natural walking motion.

This is my first dji camera and I love it so far. The only downside is that it heats up easily and powering it on or off is a hassle especially when you want to shoot vertically before turning it off since you have to slide the screen back to horizontal then vertical. Another downside is the camera case since it does not protect the camera at all.

Unfortunately, I’ve never tried the product. My review is for Best Buy overall. There is a 15 day return policy. That’s not standard based on any competitor’s policies. We bought this for our daughter and her birthday was after the 15 day return window. Couldn’t return an unused product. I’ll never purchase anything from Best Buy again.

Im sure for some people this thing is amazing ... but really look at what your planning on doing with it. if you are a professional more than likely you are not going to be impressed with the quality and will stick your camera on a gimbal even tho its a pain to set up

I have purchased pocket 3 Creator combo just barely 10 days ago and what I have noticed is that upon starting the camera, camera gets stuck vertical and doesn't come back to horizonal normal positions as what it is set to go per the settings. Now the same way, it doesn't go back and close completely when I shut down the camera. I have noticed that always happens when I start camera after a long time let say after 1 day or so. I have tried recalibration a few times already. But it doesn't fix the problem completely. I have already updated firmware when I registered the product. It's a brand new one and I didn't expect such issues out of box. No damage or any impact whatsoever. Taking care of that like a baby. Going to return it. It's probably lemon item. Noticed, some people on dji forum also having similar issues. I can't take a chance. Hopefully I can get replacement as soon as I can.

Didn’t turn out to be as handy as it is portrayed. I love that you can flip and do vertical filming. But it’s very delicate and flimsy. My use cases are scuba diving and skiing.

Never ever buy DJI from Best Buy. 14 day return is a joke when a digital devise is purchased. You will not even have the time to see if it works properly. My DJI pocket 3 Creator was a open box and the battery handle never worked. You would not know until you use this for 30 or more days. Shame on you Bet buy. I purchase 7k to 10 k per year.

    My New Favorite Video Camera

Portable digital video cameras are essential to catch the special events. For most people, this means using their digital phone to capture video. I used to be that way myself. But I have completely changed my preference with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera. This thing is amazing to catch kids sporting events, adventures in the outdoors, social media creation, or many other applications. The version I used was the Creator combo. This combo comes with a few extras that enhance the use of the camera but is not required. These include an extra battery, a portable microphone, and a few other accessories. The camera though, is not any different. Out of the box, there is a little setup to do. You will likely want to download the app for your smartphone and make sure the latest software is uploaded to the camera. The app is a useful tool because it will help guide you through some of the learning for how to use the camera as wee as give you a way to download and view the videos you take. You will need a MicroSD card. Be careful that you get the right card though. You need one that can write at high speeds. If you use a slower card, your video may stop in the middle of recording because it cannot keep up with the demand. Once you get going with the camera, there is a bit of a learning curve. Learning the camera is easy, but there is so much to learn, it may take you a while to figure out where things are and how to access them. You will also likely need to play around with the features such as the gimbal to see if you want a fixed gimbal or if you want it to focus on a particular object. Different applications will require different settings and you will want to be able to change those quickly. So, learning about this camera is important. Once you learn the camera, the performance is what you are after. This camera is amazing with its quality. You have the option to do video in portrait or landscape mode. In landscape mode, you can shoot video in 4K quality with a frame rate up to 60 frames per second. For videoing a child’s baseball game, this is perfect. Even the small size of the camera is made for placing it between the fence, so you get crystal clear video with nothing in the way. If you shoot videos at night such as Christmas lights, the images are amazing. It looks so clear. There are a couple of drawbacks with the camera. The first thing I would say is that it seems that the battery drains a bit quickly. This may be because I like to shoot at 4K and 60 fps, so there is a lot of activity going on. I didn’t have any problems capturing video, but it drained a little faster than I thought it would. The other negative is there is only a 2X digital zoom feature. If you are far away from the action, you won’t be able to zoom in close on your subject. You can always crop in editing to make it look closer, but it is not the same. The last drawback is trying to select different options on the view screen. If you have big hands, trying to make changes to the settings can be a bit hard on a small screen. In the end, these drawbacks are minor. This camera is amazing. It has so many features and filters that let out get the most out of this camera. It is lightweight and can fit in our pocket or purse as easy as a smartphone. I highly recommend this camera for people looking to get the most out of their social media accounts or want to capture amazing video on the go. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 does so much more than I expected.

If you follow the VLOG/tech space, you have no doubt seen the fanfare around the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 gimbal camera - and rightly so. This little hand-held camera is nothing short of amazing. It’s easy enough for beginners and sophisticated enough for seasoned pros. Currently, the Pocket 3 comes in two flavors, Osmo Pocket 3 which comes with the camera, storage cover and handle and the Creator Combo which adds a battery handle, wide-angle lens, mini tripod feet, DJI Mic 2 and a nice little carrying case to hold everything. The build quality is strong and the device feels like a premium camera but the gimble seems a bit delicate and I’m concerned what might happen should it get dropped. Also, it is not waterproof. Setting up the Pocket 3 was straight forward once you download the DJI Mimo app and register the device. The app gives you full control of the Pocket 3 including gimbal movement. The app has a learning academy which I highly recommend viewing before you start using the camera, at least the beginner tutorials. It also has a ton of ideas on how to shoot creative videos and projects. While the app works on an iPad, it is still the phone version and doesn't use the full screen real estate of the tablet. The 2-inch touch screen is crystal clear and the user interface is very easy to use, either by touching the icons or swiping in from each of the edges. The 1-inch CMOS sensor puts out incredible video and still photos. With all settings at default, images are crystal clear and the colors bright and vibrant. Depth of field was really nice too with just a touch of bokeh. The larger sensor also helps with low light shooting providing really clean footage. I did notice in some dim situations like dusk or overcast skies when the strongest lighting is at your back, that faces could be a little dark and under exposed. Using the low light setting helped with this. Shooting YouTube shorts? Just rotate the touch screen to get vertical video, however, this is only 3K. Rather than flipping the camera to do this, it crops the image. For those who want more control over their footage the Pocket 3 can shoot in D-Log M with 10-bit color for amazing color grading in post. No worries if you're not at that level in your editing however since the default settings produce incredible footage right out of the box. As far as sound goes, there are three microphones on the Pocket 3 which provide excellent stereo sound. But wait, there’s more - the Creator Combo also includes the DJI Mic 2 transmitter which wirelessly connects directly to the Pocket 3. You can attach the mic to your clothing with the spring clip or included magnet. Sound from the Mic 2 can be recorded directly along with the video as well as separately using the built-in 8GB ram giving you an additional sound track should you wander too far from the camera. Yes, this means you can also use the Mic 2 as a stand alone audio recorder and download the audio directly to your PC. If you don't like the look of the Mic 2 clipped to you, there is a 3.5 mm jack that you can attach a smaller lapel mic to. The Pocket 3 allows you to pair two Mic 2 units for interviews but I haven't seen them available separately yet. Once attached to the camera there is a separate menu to configure the Mic 2 options. Shooting time-lapse, hyper-lapse and motion lapse videos is simple as well. Select your times and click record and the Pocket 3 goes to work. The end results are stunning - just like the Apple TV screensavers. Rather shoot photos? The Pocket 3 has you covered there as well. Allowing you to choose between 16x9, square or panoramic. Panoramic photos are pretty cool, hold the camera still and click the record button, the head swings to the left, shoots a frame, moves and shoots a frame and moves again and shoots a frame. The finished product is a perfect pano. Need a better webcam? Simply connect the Pocket 3 to your PC and there it is. You can use the Pocket 3 for all your streaming and meeting needs. Battery life is very good, giving over two hours of recording time per charge depending on your settings. The Pocket 3 also has a quick charging feature if you are using a high-power charger with 65 watts or more that will charge the battery to 80% in 16 minutes. Unfortunately, the battery is built-in and doesn't seem to be user replaceable. The Creator Combo includes an additional battery handle to increase run time. This also might be a possible workaround should the internal battery die as I would hate to have to throw out the camera due to an inoperable battery. Another app to get is called Light Cut which DJI recommends for its gimbal cameras and drones. This app uses AI to help you edit and create really impressive video projects. Unlike the Mimo app, Light Cut does take full advantage of the iPad screen. Overall, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo is a great option for anyone looking for a high-quality, portable gimbal camera. It's easy to use and offers a variety of features and a ton of customizable options that will help you capture great footage for beginners and pros alike. I definitely recommend the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to everyone who has a need to easily capture amazing video. And yes, do get the Creator Combo, it’s definitely worth it.
