Customers are saying

Customers find value in the Osmo Pocket 4K Action Camera's impressive video quality, ease of use, and compact size. Many appreciate its effective stabilization and integrated gimbal, resulting in smooth footage. However, some users express disappointment with the lack of zoom and the camera's tendency to overheat during extended use. Concerns were also raised regarding low-light performance and the relatively narrow field of view.

This is a great idea and a fun peak into the future, however it’s just not worth the purchase yet in my opinion. There are still way to many software bugs. The auto focus is way to slow and the FOV is way to tight. Most of the video I captured over the holidays turned out blurry and out of focus. The audio is very scratchy due to the small size and your hand rubs near the mics, even when being cautious. The tiny screen is borderline useless, but I am glad it was included. I did update the firmware and optimize the settings before using it also. It needs to be attached to your phone to use 80% of its features, which at that point you might as well just shot the video with your iPhone XS or Galaxy S9. The only image quality you will lose is the better stabilization. Hopefully firmware updates fix most of these issues and then OSMO pocket 2 could be a real winner.

The short review is that I have many gimbals, stabilizers, GoPros, DJI Action etc because I work as a professional and have been for decades. This little hand held device is totally worth the price of admission. I use it as a back up only but am extremely confident that the footage I get from it will have been gathered at a pro level with pro image quality. No, its not my best camera, not my primary camera either but what it does, it does well and to my professional standards.

I own both an iPhone X and GoPro Hero 4. I've used both for recording videos, however, the videos seemed to be unstable due to the lack of stabilization. I looked into the DJI Osmo Pocker 4K Action Camera and have used it to record several videos. I've got to say this is the BEST camera stabilizer I've used by far! You won't regret purchasing this camera. One great thing is that you can connect it to your iPhone and see the pictures right then and there. Highly recommended!

The biggest turn off is that they don't include a micro usb adapter, which eliminates a large majority of phones compatible. The battery is not as bad as people make it out to be. I had it last all day, you just have to turn it off when you're not using it. The customizability is good but the ease of access to these setting suck. You have to do it while connected to a phone. Overall, it's good but I'm not sure if it's 100% worth the price point. $350 is a little steep. Even $50-75 cheaper would have been great.

So, I bought my Osmo Pocket at the end of July. I love the tech. Battery life is phenomenal, especially when compared to any of the GoPro devices. Also, I've got two 300GB cards that I pop in and out as needed. I can remove and replace those on the fly without having to take it out of the case. The tech behind this device is solid. Love how it integrates to my phone via plug or wifi attachment (not included). Also, the video and photo quality is impressive. The wife and I went to Eastern Europe and the videos I took were great. There is one BIG problem. I currently don't have my handy little Osmo. While on our trip, I began to get the "Gimbal Protected Tap to Resume" very frequently. That error showed up the first time I powered it up when it was new out of the box. However, I did a power cycle and it didn't appear. A week later when I decided to take some video of my dogs. It appeared and a power cycle fixed it then as well. I just figured I was doing something wrong. Well, after a month and a half of ownership, minimal usage, and no mistreatment or drops - the thing crapped out. On the 4th day of my trip it was no longer usable. By the time I got back to the states, it was outside of Best Buy's return/exchange policy. So I had to go through DJI. I started that ticket and shipped it off on Sept 15/16, and am still waiting to find out if this is a repair that I will have to pay for, or if they deem it defective. All I want is to be able to use this device. I'm tempted to just hit BB and buy another one with the additional warranty. Then if I ever get the broken one back - use it as a second camera. Anyway, if you're looking to buy one. DO IT!!! You'll love the thing. But buy the additional warranty as well. Because in 2 months, you could be in the same boat I am. Thanks and enjoy.

Took it to a trip this summer. Love how it fits into the pocket but still shoots excellent quality. Pro version rocks with white balance, 4K60 etc. Mimo app is good too!

I have a handful of different GoPro and Garmin cameras, but none are as fun as this little guy. Although it is not a direct replacement for an "action camera" it's prefect for throwing in your pack and taking where ever you go. Where the GoPro is great for wearing and getting the user POV, The integrated gimbal and software on the Osmo Pocket make it ideal for filming others.

I know the next Osmo Pocket is coming out soon, but, if you want to save an extra $50 for less picture pixels and durability, I would choose this one. The gimbal has been absolutely amazing for vlogging. I tried the wide angle lens sold separately and was not impressed at all as it would just fly off if the camera moved. I gave it 4/5 for quality because it does feel flimsy. I don't think it could survive a drop.

I tried using the DJI Osmo Pocket for a couple of days. The picture and video quality are very good but not at GoPro levels by any measure. Navigating the menus with such a small display are not the easiest. Although it's a fun little device I'm not sure who the target audience is since it's more expensive than many GoPros which have stabilization and better dynamic range. Ultimately ended up returning it.
