This little camera has surprised me since I bought it. I purchased the Osmo Pocket and the GoPro Hero 7 black on the same day, and I tend to use the Osmo more. The reason why I tend to use the Osmo more, it's easier to fit into a pocket and for how tiny this thing is the battery life is relatively good. The OSMO doesn't come with HDR video, but for the price that isn't surprising. It does a hair better when the light begins to fade, but after sunset, I would put this thing away. But if you are looking to do any timelapse/motion lapse, I would say this is the perfect camera to use. The ability to set 3 points over a time period for the camera to move to utilize the gimbal makes for some fantastic video and pictures. There was a recent firmware upgrade which appears to have added the ability to do hyperlpase, and I have not had a chance to test it out. But if the Osmo puts out Hyperlapse video as good as the GoPro, I would say this is a fantastic camera for everyday shots. The only negative I would give this camera is the placement of some of the connections and some of the accessories.

I got this Osmo Pocket because of its size and features. The features have never been packaged in such a small package like this before which makes it great. I don’t have to worry about lugging a DSLR, a bulky action camera, backpack and anything else around because the Pocket fit right in your pocket — no pun intended. Pano, 4K, slo-mo, time-lapse, favetracking and mobile app companion makes this small tool a logical replacement to most of your photography and videography needs. It doesn’t have a light(flash) on in and the screen is small, which is because the unit itself is so small but it’s not too small to where you can’t see anything. Those with significantly less than perfect eye-sight may have issues but if you can see objects and scenery without glasses then this screen size should be fine. You can always use the mobile companion app to enlarge the screen(phone used as viewfinder). All-in-all, it’s an all-in-one production unit for photography and video content and it doesn’t take up space by being so bulky. It’s a game-changer for sure.

The screen is too little, the mic is a tad weak, the battery is not replaceable, there are few accessories right now, and the field of view is too narrow for many vloggers. However, it is extremely easy to use and I use it for B-Roll. The stabilization sometimes drifts but it is easy to reset. Lots of features!

I got this camera to use for filming rides on my motorcycle and it seems to do great much more stable than my go pro and has around the same video quality. I thought the wind might be an issue for the gimbal but it seems to just fine and it takes pictures almost better than my DSLR canon. The only con I’ve found is that it can’t lock on to a moving object that is passing you while you’re standing still using the active track feature; I’ve tried to lock on to motorcycles passing me doing stunts at the lot but it seems to only lock on to the background instead but it works just fine as long as you’re moving with the object or the object is moving slowly or not at all when you lock on to it. Over all I think it was worth the money.

    Great Idea, Poor Execution

This is my 2nd time buying this camera, as the first time i bought it it had a-lot of issues and no real accessories (around Christmas 2018). Its stabilization is fantastic for the most part (you still get a slight bounce with each step) but getting it to focus on such a tiny screen or any change in light, totally throws off the sensor so i returned it. Few months go buy, and some acessories come out for it like the scroll wheel and wireless adaptor, and everyone insists the firmware updates fixed alot of issues, but even on the latest firmware, it just runs poorly to me. I still get a lot of pulse focusing and any change in light throws it off, it runs really hot when shooting in 4k to the point where its uncomfortable to hold it, no matter what i do it breaks up footage into 5 min sections, and the acessories dont always work with all the adaptor cases and mounts. Overall its a ok camera that has a great idea, but poor execution. The Wifi and scroll wheel should have been built in from the beginning not sold as accessories... The field of view should be wider especially for blogging, and it should have a removable battery. My advice, wait for the 2nd gen!

Haven't used it extensively yet but the few things I've done with it are great. 4k video in your pocket with stabilization! Pair it with your smartphone. Get a "pairing" bracket online to hold the two together. The USB-C adapter is NOT enough to SAFELY secure them together. And if you have a case (like my Otterbox Defender) you'll need a male-to-female USB-C adapter or extension along with your pairing bracket. It is rock solid with my long adapter which extends it past the Otterbox limitation. If you're doing intensive sports-like footage, the GoPro may be a better choice for ruggedness. But if you're doing milder filming, this DJI product is impressive. (And with a GoPro style mount for the Pocket, use all your GoPro accessories you already have.)

This is by far my favorite camera that I have used. I have used multiple DSLRs and they are very nice to have but they have a very high barrier for entry. This camera works right out of the box and being able to use it with a smartphone is absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend this camera if you are wanting a great point and shot camera/video camera that has Gimbal Stabilization!! Seriously, they best part about this camera is not that it can shoot 4K at 60fps, but the Gimbal stabilization is absolutely amazing. I love this camera and I highly recommend it! Very portable and shoots very high-quality video and really nice photos.

I didn't expect much from this camera. Just to activate it I had to buy cheap burner phone. Owner's manual was not available on release day. Couldn't figure what mode I wanted to use without manual. I decided to play with it for a few days and take it back. But then.. I could not believe a quality of 4K video I filmed. It was almost as good as my A7RII with a Zhiyun Crane gimbal. With a little practice this pocket camera does wonders. If you take occasional pictures or videos with your cell phone, you have to get this pocket camera. Just keep it in your pocket and use it instead of cell phone. No, it will not replace video rig that cost and weigh 10 times as much, but you will love to have it with you anywhere you go.

I have been a Osmo mobile 2 user, and to be honest its a great gadget, but the calibration and cellphone setup its something you always (ALWAYS) need to consider every time you use it. Its also a big part so it takes half of the space of my bag pack. Osmo pocket its the reinvention of that; small size, no configuration required at all and amazing quality and performance. The learning curve its long, but intuitive, but the results are amazing. Still I have not do any 4K video, but with regular resolution you get amazing results. Motion laps are very interesting and fun. Now I carry this piece of technology everywhere and i can be ready for action in a couple of seconds!!

My wife has been doing small video projects for work (to document office activities and special projects) and putting them together in iMovie. They look great, but they look like everything everyone else shoots with the cameras on their phones. My brother-in-law had one of these and showed off the marching band year in review video he did for his kids' school, and we knew we had to have one. The form factor, tracking, and ease of use are awesome. Although it has all kinds of cool options when physically connected to the phone, my wife loves the freedom of shooting from all kinds of angles and perspectives with this thing. Definitely, a must buy.

What a fun, good quality video recording device! It is so easy to bring everywhere and the stabilizing feature is amazing (compared to recording on my smartphone). The longest video I've taken consecutively was around half an hour. The device was hot to the touch but did not stop due to overheating. The only thing I find annoying is how unstable and uncomfortable it is to connect the device to my phone. The connector provided is flimsy and makes it awkward to hold your phone while it's connected. Unless you put both devices on a flat surface the whole time, it's just hard to use. I still love it though. I had no problems setting up my device as my phone uses usb-c anyways. I'm sure there are better recorders out there, but this one was the size, shape, weight, and video quality that I wanted. I would recommend it.

Best compact camera I own. I bought this because I was tired of carrying my very heavy DSLR around. Don't get me wrong I still use that one but this one makes my life so much easier. I visit a lot of pop up exhibits and do some travel videos so to be able to fit this in my purse is amazing. It's small but very steady. The gimbal on it shoots very smoothly and for the most part my videos are usually always in focus and with clear quality. If you're looking for something small to carry around with you this should definitely do the trick.

I am an owner of the GoPro Karma. I found myself barely using the product because of it's size. With that said, DJI Osmo Pocket has allowed me to enjoy the best of both worlds. You can really get good shots plus it does a pano without you needing to move. I would not use this in places that are dirty of wet. It is a fair weather camera that fits nicely in your pocket. I also comes with a durable case that fits it and protects it's gimble and lense. Very reasonable price for the quality given. Last thing to note, it doesn't zoom but that was not something I needed it for.
