There are already many video youtube reviews out there. So i won't go into details of the features and everything. I will just speak to the practicality of these features vs. everyday life of a vlog and non-vlog person. If you vlog, this little pocket gimbal will make your life so much easier. Perfect smoothness and small size. Great 4k video quality, good microphone. For those who dont do vlogs and wanna use to capture every day life like your kids, etc. This is a great little addition to your cell phone to smooth our the shakiness which you would otherwise have if you only use a cell phone. This osmo pocket can also replace your camcorder as it videos in 4k and 30/60fps. One problem with this camera, there's no zoom! and its only 80 degrees FOV. so its not wide screen like go pro. and you are limited to just that view as you can zoom and you can widen or narrow your view. So for me, its not replacing my GoPro Hero 7 black in anyway. I need the wide view. But for those who wants their cell phone footage to be smoother, this is a good addition.

With the latest 2nd update that full filled most of the "wanted features" and fixes plus some extras...DJI is truly making the Osmo Pocket GREAT again! Keep in mind this is not an action cam , it's not water / shock proof... however, this is unique 4k cam with a built in gimbal that can fit in your pocket!! The image and video quality is very good in terms of it's size and how quick & easy to turn this thing on to capture the moment...without any setup, just press the button and start recording smooth video! I do have full frame DSLRs and Fuji mirrorless that can take better quality pics/vids with better lens choices..etc. But at the end of the day, the OP is the one that carry with me most of the time with the most usage for non professional shooting. It's unfair to compare this to a pro cam / action cam. Get one and enjoy shooting!

I was unhappy with the quality of this device. It did not look like the advertisement.

I was sooo looking forward to using this little Unit after seeing all the well done marketing DJI made for it . ( they got me ) unfortunately I was quite disappointed after the device never worked, I looked online and it turns out that I wasn’t the only person having issues with the dji osmo .

I would give it less than 1 star if I could. This was purchased as a Christmas gift. We have not been able to get it connected for my son to use. The mimo app is conveniently no longer available for android. Total crap!

Updated, downloaded newest firmware and it simply wouldnt let me activate. But Best Buy was very nice about refunding me my money so that made it alot easier.

I have been following DJI for sometime. Seeing the DJI Ronin and some of the early products, the company seemed to show potential. They really outdid themselves when they launched the Mavic Pro drone, a week after the launch of GoPro Karma, and totally killed a seemigly good product by stretching the limits of drone and camera technology. They then went one step further by making the DJI Spark drone. This is brilliant innovation from a less known Chinese company. The DJI Osmo Pocket is a smart product that basically combines DJI's existing technologies in an extremely attractive package. I got this camera the day it was released (purchased on Best Buy - wanted it immediately lol!) and it continues to impress me by the power it packs in such a tiny package. Apart from shooting true to life 4K videos you can take great pictures, effortless Pano shots (finally someone made taking a Pano seamless), Super wide angle 3x3 shots, Timelapse and most unique - Motionlapse. I sold my Sony FDR X3000 and GoPro Hero to get this camera and I don't miss them at all. This is not an action camera (may be if you really want to use it, you can) so if you are about mountain biking etc. a GoPro may still be better. But for everything else, this is THE BEST. Pros: -Unbelievably stable Videos in 4K -Motionlapse (no other camera of this size does that) -Seamless Pano wit 3x3 mode -Face Tracking and Object Tracking -Amazing App that makes uploading to social media a breeze -Recent updates with thoughtful touches like turning the gimbal in resting position for ease of keeping in case Cons: -Pictures look grainy in low light, still better than other cameras of this size -Facetrack does not turn on sometimes, needs switching off and on again -If a Panorama shot includes extremes of lighting on either side, pano shots appear with gradient lighting - looks stitched Edit (Adding below section after 20 days of use during an international travel trip): I would say now I have used the camera for a decent amount of time to know it well. It continues to impress me. In addition to pros mentioned above, I am blown away by the Mimo App and its video editor. I am a Premiere Pro user and this app makes video editing such an ease. I was able to quickly make a decent 10 min video of my 15 day trip using the DJI Mimo app within the 3 hours of my return flight to Los Angeles. The same job would take more than 12-15 hours on Premiere Pro (of course you get lot more options to use in Premiere Pro) but this is the best video editing phone app. I would recommend people use DJI Mimo app for video editing even if they don't have the Osmo Pocket. This is a brilliant device. Reading some of the reviews, I think most of users have bought this without having a USB C or Lightning connector - when product page clearly mentions that it does not work with micro USB (which in my opinion is a smart move since micro USB is a standard that is slowly being phased out) . Other reviews mention that app does not work - yes, it is a video processing app, it won't work with slower processor phones - upgrade your phone before you buy a $400 camera. DJI, being a company from China has outdone our American GoPro. We need more innovations like these - no matter where it is coming from.

Not a fan. I’m not the most tech savvy person but this product ran hot on me. I sent it in to be repaired and still had issues after. I returned it for a gift card

Not sure if we used this product correctly or not but was not happy with it. Tracking wasnt working. Returned to store.

I bought this camera and at the first use the memory card got stuck in the camera and it didn’t work. I never used and lost the money!

Took nice video for a day and then stopped working. Returned to store. Recommend sticking with GoPro

This thing is incredible. I’ve owned GoPros before. I’ve always had the latest smartphone. I bought the Osmo Mobile 2 and even moment lenses for my phone. There’s always been something that’s kept me from using all of these though. I didn’t want to have to carry around the Osmo, or get accessories on the GoPro, or setup the Moment lenses with a case, so I ended up using the built in camera on my phone as is. It’s fine. It’s good for most things. But this really takes it to the next level. A 3 axis gimbal with a stunning 4K sensor on it in your POCKET?! It’s a game changer. I’ve been carrying it with me since I got it and it’s so easy to just film some cool slow-mo or a few fun moments with friends. I’m not a pro videographer. But this camera does what those other things don’t, give you an accessible camera that takes quality video. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s we’ll worth it in my opinion.

I am a DJI Spark Drone owner. When I saw the OSMO Pocket I thought it would be cool if it could match the video stability of the Spark but I was not sure it could for such a small size. Well, I am VERY pleased. My first video experience that I shot without much practice came out great. I am a pretty good still DSLR photographer but not much video experience. This made capturing a nice looking video story easy. I think with more practice I will be able to create some spectacular footage. My first video was of a family holiday party and I was able to roam around the room and capture video and audio that truly communicated some of the energy in the group. My second was a slo-mo capture of an older sister interacting with a younger brother that truly captured the emotion of the moment. Highly recommended if you need a small camera to tell a video story.

The primary use case for this camera is that it is small that fits in my pocket. The picture quality won't be able to compete with my GH5 or Sony a7 r2 mounted on my Zhiyun Crane gimbal. And that's a given. But you know what, this small size will make sure this will always be with me. In my test videos I took right after I got it on release date, they look amazing and better / smoother than my otherwise excellent Pixel 3 XL phone camera footage. A camera is no good when it is not with me, and due to the bulk and weight of a GH5 on a Crane - plus the calibration headache, it is not with me many times. But this one will be in my pocket! And that's what matters. DJI - keep up the good job of innovating. Now please, please release the accessories soon!!

I own about 20 other cameras and this has by far the best video. You could probably do better with a camera and gimble costing a couple of thousand dollars, but who wants to lug around a huge gimple and camera. Just stick this camera in your pocket and your ready for anything. Videos are crisp and clear and very steady. By adding the wifi module, you can stick this on a flat surface and control what you are videoing without being near the camera.

Excellent stabilization, good pic quality. Not sure how DJI made all the features in such tiny body... stabilization is better than Gopro7... Never have to use a sticker with gopro, which is kind of bulky... I love this osmo pocket

Camera specs are about as good as a Iphone/s9 camera. Low light is around there. I have a s9+. In low light, they're similiar. S9+ appears brighter but loses detail because of noise reduction. I like the stabilizer because you can hold it upside down and in flash light mode (holding like a flash light with camera pointed forward). Alot of gymbals like zhiyun smooth Q cant do that. Tracking is pretty awesome but only usable at 30fps or lower. I do want to mention, as one of the reviewers said, you DO need usb-C to activate it. Out of the box it is "unactivated" and is useless until you download the mimo app and connect it with your phone. After it's been activated, you do no need a phone unless you want to use pro mode. At least this was how it was on 12/13/18. all in all... a very awesome device. My only real gripe would be that it is going to get quite expensive. it's 350$ + each accessories is 50$+. I feel they should have included the scroll wheel accessory... since there's no way to manually move the camera without connection to the phone. most stabilizers has a joystick.

Have watched just about every YouTube video regarding this camera and picked mine up on 12/12/18 at my Local Best Buy. This is the best small form setup for any traveler, YouTuber etc. You can capture great videos and pictures within 5 sec. Please remember this IS NOT A TOP OF THE LINE $6000+ camera. Yes it takes amazing, smooth, colorful photos, but too many people are trying to compare it so High end cameras and its $349 and well worth it at that. So please keep reviews based on comparing apples to apples. DJI hit it out of the park with this small amazing camera and at such a low price point!! LOVE THIS going to get them for my kids for christmas as well (if I can find them locally)
