    A Review From Experience

I've had the Phantom 3 Standard, Phantom 4, and now have purchased the Phantom 4 Pro. Let me tell you, this is the Lamborghini of drones, and is an absolute joy to fly. I could talk for hours about this- but you'd primarily buy this drone for video quality over portability. It records 4k60fps at 100mbps with a 1inch sensor, which in nerd means that it captures much more detail in your videos than the standard 60mbps 1/2.3 sensor seen in the other DJI drones. However in my experience, I'd rather devote the 100mpbs to 4k30fps. If you don't need near-professional picture quality or would like something that fits in your pocket, buy the DJI Mavic Pro. It can fit in your pocket, and can shoot footage similar to the original Phantom 4, which is pretty good. It's surprisingly just as stable and has most of the same features (except 360 obstacle avoidance). But as I moved my up through the DJI drones, I've learned that I want the best, especially so that I am not disappointed later. For me, I would always think: "well if I had the Pro it would look this much better". If you think you'll think like that, get this drone. The caveat is that it is much more difficult to travel with it (as opposed to the Mavic), but the footage pays off in the end. Please make sure to buy an extra battery- otherwise, you'll be a little disappointed.

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro Has Been Ranked #1

I have been flying drones for over five years now, and I've flown at least 15 different brands of drones. I am a professional drone cinematographer and a Production Manager for a Hollywood based production company. You WILL NOT find a better drone manufacturer than DJI. They are leading in professional sales and they've secured 80% of the drone market. EVERYTHING about DJI drones are better. 1) Reliability: I own three Phantom 4 Pros, and no problems yet 2) Maneuverability: You can capture stunning footage with the Phantom 4 Pro's full size 1" imaging chip. ONLY DJI has a full size 1" imaging chip, which allows the camera to capture noiseless, pristine footage in the evening and night. The Phantom 4 Pro's camera is exponentially better than that of its competitors. The 1" imaging chip in the P4P is THREE times bigger than the imaging chip in other 4K drones. THE IMAGING CHIP IS SUITED FOR PROFESSIONALS (Do your research!) 3) Automated (smart) modes offer stunning features such as terrain follow, object follow (from any direction), orbit, waypoints, and many, many more. 4) REMOTE CONTROL RANGE: Over FOUR miles. No other company can even come close to this distance. I get pristine, low-latency live HD feed from the camera, which is mounted on a high quality 3-axis gimble. 5) Battery Life: On a casual flight on a fairly calm day, my batteries last about 27 minutes. I have five batteries for each drone. When the battery life is getting low, it automatically calculates the battery power needed to get back to your takeoff location, making sure you won't lose power on your return flight. 6) Used in actual "Hollywood" movies. The Phantom 4 Pro is the top of the line consumer model from DJI, but its camera can compete with their professional series drones and still look darn good. I filmed multiple scenes with the Phantom 4 Pro for the movie "Darkness Reigns", which will be in theaters in mid 2018. The footage looked spectacular on the movie screen at the premier. 7) Price: You are getting a drone that will outperform EVERY OTHER consumer drone. I've tried the other brands, and in comparison to the DJI, the other brands are cheap toys. Spend a little extra and you will not be sorry. Note: If you are serious about getting good footage and reliability, DON'T use a cheap tablet to control this drone. Don't use your phone. The processors in most phones and tablets are too slow to adequately process the information being transferred from the remote to the drone. FOR FLAWLESS PERFORMANCE, buy an APPLE iPad Mini 4 with your remote. Don't buy a $200 tablet and expect perfect results. Buy the best, the iPad Mini 4, and you'll be set for life.

    Great drone for professional use

I have been using this drone for 90 days, and it has exceeded expectations. Very easy to maneuver and control, high quality video, and a lot of different settings to get the use you need for that flight. Altogether, if you are looking for a drone to use professionally, this is a great choice. But if you are just looking for something to play around with for a hobby, you might want to go with the mavic.

Compared to the other drones out there, this one literally the best drone. Obstacle avoidance has saved my behind so many times. The interface that it uses on the DJI Go app is super easy to use and crazy smart. Definitely would recommend this drone or the Mavic pro

I bought the Phantom 4 for my husband a year ago. He loved it & has literally brought it on vacation with us ever since. It does take amazing videos & amazing photos! We are currently in Jamaica - our drone has come with us on 3 Jamaican vacations. My husband sent the drone above the water just outside of our balcony & we were waving to it - thought it would be a cool video & all of a sudden it - silence - and it plummets into the water :( We are devastated as this is a very costly hobby & something we really loved. There was no rhyme or reason for why it literally just stopped working. I was hoping there was some kind of warranty on it but couldn't find that information. I also have a video where you can see the splash of it falling into the ocean - very devastating :(

    Drone suddenly wouldn't power up

I flew the drone successfully in my living room. I was looking forward to the "money shot" for videos on YouTube. This morning was a perfect day: Sunny, no rain, no wind... and I was ready to go. I got the drone on, got the controller on and connected and it wanted to update. What? I wasn't going to at the moment. I was on the street. So I tried to get out of it. No dice. I turned things off and on. Took out the battery and plugged it in, put in a different one. The drone itself WOULD NOT POWER ON no matter what. Oh, the lights would flash, then go dark. I rushed back to Best Buy. The told me that they couldn't fix it (they tried to power on the drone too). I bought the extended Geek Squad warranty, thankfully. They said they could replace it. It was taking 30 minutes, so I decided my best option was to just return it and I did. No restocking fee was charged because it was defective. Other DJI owners have been complaining about such things. Ratings here are much better than on Amazon. It was a perfect day, full of promise. I was filled with hope. It was not to be.

    DIdnt work out for me

The camera on my new Phantom 4 Pro doesn't align correctly. It is pointed off to the left about 5 degrees. I have done all of the IMU and gimbal calibrations a number of times and it always is off although when I turn the unit off for some reason it straightens up. Unfortunately I am not the only person with this problem from reading some of the DJI forums. The drone has never even been flown so it isn't crash related. So I will wait till Monday and contact DJI to see what they recommend. If it is going to be a big mess to fix or take I long time I will probably just return it to BB since I have only had it for a few days. Pretty big mess for a drone that costs $1500.00 not to mention all of the other equipment I bought to go with it. Reading the various DJI forums I am not sure what I thought I was getting into with the P4P. If you like living on the bleeding edge of technology then you might like this drone. If you just want to go fly one and have fun then my recommendation is to keep looking.

    Warning DO NOT BUY THIS.

Warning Buyer Be Ware!! This product does not work, Do Not Buy This!, the remote and aircraft have a widespread connection flaw that affects many of the units. If you buy this there is an extremely high likelyhood that it will be a lemon. Mine has been to the repair center for more than a month and returned with the same connection problem. GET ANOTHER MODEL OR BRAND!!! The support personal admitted on the phone calls that the remotes are flawed. Again GET SOMETHING ELSE!

Hey MarkM. Sorry you're having difficulty. However, we would like to make clear that only a tiny fraction of units are affected by any types of issues requiring repair services. Please contact the repair department if you still require service. Thanks. DJISupport
