I love my Phantom 4 Pro! It shoots excellent 4k video and takes really great stills! My only complaint is, sometimes the auto settings will over expose the image. If you are good with manually setting exposure, this shouldn't be a problem.

this is our second Phantom and it just works! The upgrades in the flight security is excellent but then the updated camera with 1 inch sensor and manual settings takes it over the top for an out of the box drone. Would highly recommend.

I started out with a Phantom 4, then decided to upgrade it to the Pro model. I can say I have no regrets!! It's very easy to fly, can handle strong wind like a champ, and has an amazing camera!! My only issue is that the gimbal sometimes has a problem staying level with the horizon, but I've read that DJI is working on a software fix for this. Other than that, this device is an excellent choice for photography and videography!!

The DJI Phantom 4 is a very polished drone compared to its competition, and for those who've flown a quad before, you'll have no trouble getting started with this one. The new Sport mode lets you get to your location faster or just have some fun. Its Obstacle Sensing System can help avoid head-on collisions as well as track subjects. Slow-motion video is a nice addition to an already excellent camera. The Bad The Obstacle Sensing System only sees things in front of the drone. You still need a tablet or phone ready to go along with the controller and drone battery. Extra batteries are expensive. Landing gear and camera are fixed to the body, so you can't collapse it entirely for travel and if you break or want to upgrade the camera, that's not an option.

I needed a drone for commercial photography and imaging. This has been perfect. Photos: The photo quality is exceptional (I don't use the video much) and matches the level of detail I need for work. The camera function is easy to understand and use while in flight. There are quite a few photo options as well if you need more control over how your photos are taken. Raw capture is also an option which is great. Stability: This thing is super stable. I have flown in 25 to 30mph winds and the drone will sit at an angle to stay in one place. I was able to follow and capture stable photos of Kite boarders over the ocean in high winds with no issue. The gimble is incredible and provides stable video while in flight. You cannot tell the video was taken from a drone in flight, it is just smooth with no shake. Flight modes: There are a lot of flight modes that help automate things if you need. I would recommend going to a large empty area to try out the flight modes after reviewing some videos online of how they work. This helped me a lot as I could learn the modes at a slow pace until becoming proficient with them. One mode allow you circle an area which provided some awesome and stable cinematic video. This also allow you to capture overlapping photos to create 3D models of an area if you want. You'll need a separate program to process the data though. GPS: It's quite accurate and provides data points for 3rd party programs if you need it to. You can also monitor the Drones location on a map overlay in the DJI app. Flight Time: I averaged 20 Min before I started coming back to land. This will vary based upon the speed at which you fly and if it is windy. I'd say 20min is a safe average though so you can land with some battery remaining. Flight Range: You can fly this drone for several miles before losing signal. Please don't though as it is not legal to do so in most situations. You need to keep the drone in sight for safe flight. Speed: It's quick enough to overcome moderate winds and keep up with most objects. The stated 44mph top speed seems accurate with no wind and in sport mode. Obstacle avoidance: Works really well with large objects. It didn't see power lines when I tested it but it stopped every time I tested it against a fence or vehicle. The drone would stop flying and just hover like magic. Of course I tested this at reasonable speeds. Don't expect to be flying at 35Mph at a fence and have the drone stop reliably. Landing: This is super easy and the drone does nearly everything on its own. I didn't use the return home feature as I like to maintain control over the drone. I just got is about 5 feet above where I wanted to land and pressed the land button within the app. It lands on its own from there. Keep in mind that when you set the return home feature (if you use that) to make sure you set the default altitude high enough to clear any obstacles between you and the drone. When you click return to home the drone will default to that altitude and return back to you. If you set it too low it will risk running into obstacles like trees along the way. Quality: Very high quality. I felt like it matched the price I paid for the drone. What's needed to fly: You'll need a screen for the remote so you can control the drone and monitor it. You can use a phone is you want, just install the DJI app on it. However, I recommend using an Ipad mini. The larger screen helps out a lot. I also used a dedicated Ipad Mini that just had the DJI app on it. I only use that Ipad for the drone and nothing else to ensure it operates in a stable manner. It helps to put the Ipad in airplane mode so you don't get interference between the Ipad and the drone remote. You'll plug the ipad or your phone directly into the remote for communication. I'd also buy an extra battery and additional propellers. It's nice to have extended run times and you need extra props. If you damage a prop just replace it, it's safer that way. Final thoughts: I'd recommend this drone to anyone that is serious about getting stable photo video from a drone. This is an ok first drone if it is your first (it was my first). Just take the time to understand how everything work prior to taking out. Find an open area and fly under 100 feet just to get use to how the drone works and flies. You'll enjoy it a lot more if you get comfortable using it first.

This drone was purchased to perform roof inspections - a task which it performs exceptionally well. I work in a coastal area and wind is almost always an issue, but the video output is rock steady, even when I get warnings that wind velocity is too high. Still photos offer exceptional clarity with the ability to stay 20+ feet away from the subject, while still being able to zoom in with great detail for cropped photos. Battery life is very good in still conditions, but windy conditions generally allow for only 15 or so minutes of flight time. I haven't tried advanced tracking and autonomous features yet. One issue is the software. I was forced to buy this drone as a "replacement" for another Phantom 4, when I needlessly upgraded the firmware on the previous unit, because of the software's constant prompting me to do so, and it rendered the remote video feed useless. The factory did repair the unit free of charge under warranty, but it took 3 weeks. Unacceptable for a work tool. So far, I've ignored the prompts to upgrade my software on this drone and it has performed well. Word of advice - don't upgrade the software without absolutely needing to, and reading the DJI forum first. I didn't, and now have two drones as a result.

Having flown a DJI P3 Pro for almost two years several things about the updated P4 caught my attention: 1. 20MP 1" sensor 2. lens array that can be focused 3. variable apertures from 2.8-11 4. Improved flight times through higher capacity battery The front, rear, sides and downward facing object avoidance system is icing on the cake. Opening the box you find that the necessary parts are neatly packed in a reusable dense foam case with carrying handle and latch to keep it closed. Updating firmware through DJI Assistant loaded on your PC or laptop took only minutes. While reading over the owners manual I charged the batteries having, bought a second battery along with the drone. The next day I was ready for a short 1 battery test flight. After confirming Home Point I launched the P4P and it hovered at about 15' as if it were on a pole. My P3P cannot do as well. Though the tap to focus procedure is kind of pain being able to focus the camera is a good thing. photos in dying afternoon light looked fine as did the 4k and 1080P video. Second test flight was to check evening shooting abilities. Hello Crashed Ice Tour. From a safe distance the drone launched flew and landed without any issues and the photos and 1080P video looked very good considering the only lighting was street lighting and the flood lights used at Crashed Ice event. Flight time was 15:11 when landed and motors off. Pretty good for using only 50% of the high capacity battery. After the batteries go through their break-in period I anticipate typical flight times in warmer weather to easily be in the 23-28 minute range depending on circumstance. A great drone for any one interested in photography or videography who wants to explore new points of view. There's a lot more to take into consideration with a flying camera before you even take it out of the case to fly starting with your FAA registration. Do it. Then set about dealing with trying to not crash into utility wires, trees, buildings, more trees, unexpected wind gusts, keeping a watchful eye for territorial birds and clearing a flight plan if you're close enough to an airport to have to make the call.. Then there's local, county, state and federal park regulations. Even with glitches along the way I believe the P4P is as good as it gets for an obtainable consumer drone that can deliver amazing photos and videos. Put one on your bucket list. Quick, before DJI introduces the P5 :)

After upgrading to this from a Phantom 4, I can easily say this was worrh the extra money. Its fast, has excellent range, flies like a dream and takes excellent pictures and videos. I have already had friends run out and buy good drones after seeing this in action. One word of caution, if you get one please do not be the guy who tries a max altitude flight. The one thing this drone cand dois fly high and it could be an avaition hazard. Stay below 400 ft, read the manual, read the dji forums for helpful hints and have fun.

I read about every review I could find before buying a drone. These reviews spoke highly of this DJI Phantom 4 Pro. I am very happy with this drone for a number of reasons. First the camera is of prime importance to me since I did wedding photography before and now pursue photography as a hobby. The 20 mb camera provides excellent jpg or raw images as well as 4 k videos. These live up to my expectations and then some. The drone has a number a automated flight features that I haven't even tried yet but just with the flying I have done the features I have used are great. One of the best things is its ability to hang still once you take your hands off the controls. This leaves the drone practically totally still making it easy to take still photos. With control buttons you can change many camera settings or leave it on automatic. You can switch from videos to still shots easily. You can set reurn to home elevation that it will fly at returning to the exact spot you took off from when you press a button to get it back. Then it will land automatically and then turn off its Motors. Automatic obstacle avoidance is another great feature. There are many other things I could elaborate on but I'll end by saying it's one great drone and quite easy to fly. It a lot of fun. Get one or more extra batteries but be sure you get the high capacity ones.

Im a builder and I can't tell how you how incredible this drone is! It is simple to fly and is hands down an amazing machine. It is built with quality materials and is just overall an amazing tool! My only gripe is I wish the battery life was longer than 30 mins. I did purchase an extra one and I highly recommend you do the same. Currently, they are $170 plus the cost of the drone was a jagged pill to swallow but I have already recouped its cost. I cannot give it less than 5 stars even with the battery life issue. AMAZING video quality and pictures. Word to the wise... use an iPad for the viewer and don't buy the expensive additional screen for the remote. An iPad 9.7 is fantastic for this and even better in my opinion. PHENOMENAL DRONE, YOU WILL NOT HAVE BUYERS REMORSE, PROMISE!

I have the 3 Standard and this blows it out of the water in every way. I could write pages and pages in this review on every detail I like about this drone honestly. It's probably the best I've used so far and the 4k footage is flawless. Not to mention that 20mp camera though... Easy to fly easy all around. So glad I bought this and upgraded.

First drone I flew was a neighbors phantom 3. I flew it straight into a tree and that was my drone experience. What did I learn form that, I must have a drone immediately, I researched and discovered DJI is without question the best.. I read about all the drones, companies and issues. I actually bought a halo drone based on how sweat it looked and a claim of great ratings. However months passed and although trying to accommodate with discounts the drone never materialized. So it was refunded and I drove to Best Buy and bought this. Oh it was wonderful; beyond imagination flying my new DJI 4 pro!! Then the worst thing ever happened and it was devastating to me but what could I do. I contacted DJI support and I no sooner then 2 to 3 weeks was back in action. By far the best service and purchased product since I bought my original Voltron, when you had to buy the lions one at a time. Best to you if you buy anything else. Thank you DJI.

This was my first drone purchase and it has been worth every penny. I have had it for 2 months now and flying this thing is so much fun. I just bought it to mess around and to add a little production value to a video i help produce every year for a fundraiser. First off the learning curve is very easy. Although setting it up did take a little time (about 45 mins with the updates you need to make to the app and the hardware) I realize now that in comparison to other drones, it was a piece of cake! My friends got the star wars drones for Christmas and after I setup the phantom 4 i figured the little star wars drones would be easier. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! After almost 3 hours of trying to set up the star wars drones I gave up. It made me appreciate just how user friendly the phantom 4 truly is. I was debating whether to get the mavic or the phantom 4 however I went into the store and saw the video quality difference and the phantom 4 was a no-brainer. Im very much an amateur when it comes to photography and video, so i have to do more studying on how to get the right exposure but as far as flying, this thing is sooo sick and again very easy for beginners like me! I have flown it in great weather conditions but i have also flown it in windy conditions and at night time. The gimbal is incredible and it held up beautifully in the wind. The censors on this thing work pretty great most of the time, and there is an upgrade to this model that does allow for indoor flying, however the censor did fail me once indoors and it hit a wall (but it could have been the light grey color that might have seemed like just sky). Also, i flew it at night time and the censor didnt see the tree so i did a little bit of leaf trimming, but that was just shoddy piloting lol. I dont recommend flying at night time because its hard to see the image. I was a bit hesitant about having to use my phone as the screen, i thought the delay would be noticeable. I have a goPro Hero 3 and when ive used the gopro app on my phone to see the image, the delay is too annoying. BUT on the phantom 4 its not an issue at all. Battery life is okay, im sure they will get better with time, it says average time is 30 mins but im averaging like 23-25 with constant flying which is still more than enough time to film the shots you need with good planning. The battery life on the remote is great. I definitely recommend buying at least 1 extra battery. A great feature is that the app tells you what the battery life percentage is on the drone battery although it starts annoyingly beeping at 30% which i understand is important for people who fly it far away, but I always keep it in my sight so it is annoying. I havent tested the drone for distance so I dont know if it really is capable of flying the 4+ miles advertised, like i said i keep it within eye sight. My one complaint, is that I was pretty sure that when i was speaking with the DJI rep inside the BestBuy store, he mentioned that it had a manual zoom that i could control on the remote, but apparently there is no zoom so yeah, thats my only complaint. The propellers are great, like i said, ive hit a wall and trimmed some leaves but ive been using the same 4 propellers that came with the drone (there are a total of 8 propellers, but ive only used 1 set so far) and they are holding up great. I wish the insurance was a little cheaper, I would have bought it if it was a bit cheaper so I have to make sure i dont hit anything else lol. In summary, this drone is worth every penny! Great product by DJI!
