There is a saying that the best camera is the one you always have on you. This is why cellphones have become the go to for a lot of creators. The problem is that most phones lack in image quality and stabilization. DJI is one of the leaders in stabilization. My favorite thing about the Pocket 2 is its size. It really is pocket size and can be taken everywhere. It does feature a very small touch LCD screen which is a nice addition to frame your shot or quickly change settings. I belive this is the ultimate camera for vloggers or content creators do to its size and image quality. There are many add on accessories for this camera which make it even better. I am a huge fan of the case it comes with because it is still small and light but protects the gimble. It comes with attachments to connect it to a smart phone which adds some great features with the companion app. The only thing I did not like is that I was unable to connect it with a case on my phone because the connector was not long enough. Active track worked extremely well and is convenient when you you're trying to video yourself but do not have someone to control the camera. Overall I would highly recommend this camera for anyone wanting a small, portable, and highly capable camera with stabilization.

This is the BEST gimble device I've ever usedm it's incredible. So stable, you'll be simply amazed. Video quality and photos, the best I've seen in a long time. I like this better than my GoPro hero 9 for sure. Battery life could be better, but that depends on the resolution you are recording at. Keep it at 1080p 30, and you'll be fine. I like 4k 60fps, so that's what I use. For the price, it's totally worth it. Setup was a little rough, and so I jumped online at the dji site and it went smooth. Other than that, it's a great device. You'll love it for sure. Buy it now!

The DJI Pocket 2 is a worthy pro-sumer device that should seriously be considered in any photographer's/videographer's portfolio of picture/video-taking devices. It appears that, with every passing year and new devices that companies like DJI produce, amateur content creators such as myself and other family members inch closer to having the same capabilities in-hand that for years have only belonged to broadcast-quality devices such as Steady Cams. The Pocket 2 definitely fits into this upgraded category. While the device is definitely small, it is able to hold its own in terms of still photo and video capture. Among its repertoire of functionality includes the ability to auto-follow subjects via a screen-tap on the device. The biggest challenge here, however, is that the device's screen is no bigger than two average thumbs put together, but that's the only real negative I've found with it, so far. There is definitely the capability of attaching it to your mobile device (mine is an iPhone) for firmware updates as well as using that mobile device as a screen, per se (which inherently will limit what you can do with the Pocket 2, as you'll have the mobile device hanging off of it). By itself, the Pocket 2 allows most memory cards to be inserted into it (you'll need to provide one separately; one is not included and will be required when updating firmware for the first time). As previously mentioned, setting for everything from language to shutter speed to image quality are fairly easily set with the device as well as the free DJI app that's used to set it up. The included battery does contain a reasonable amount of charge, but you'll definitely want to get the device to a full charge to really take advantage of it. For my family and I, the biggest value with the camera is the gimbal; no matter how you move, video taking is exceptionally smooth and certainly above par what even the latest iPhone is capable of producing. As far as underwater shots, we haven't yet been brave enough to try that aspect out, though I suspect we soon will, so perhaps get adventurous at your own risk! All in all, I believe that DJI has made yet another fantastic device capable of approaching broadcast-quality footage with the same steadiness that professionals use for a fraction of the price.

    A New Age

To begin, I have flown many DJI drones as well as own my own. I have to say the camera quality on my drones is always awesome and produce some of the most beautiful pictures up close and up high. The DJI Pocket 2 brings you that camera in the front of your drone to your hands. It's just as advance and produces such great quality videos as well as photos. I personally enjoyed taking pictures (64mp!) as it can get some great angles either high low or to an angle... something that is definitely more advance. I actually could replace my dslr with this device. The DJI pocket 2 comes with everything that you need. It comes with different adapters that slide in right below the screen which are awesome.. It has an adapter to connect right to my iPhone (can be used with usb-c -adapter included) so I can use my iPhone as the viewing screen if I want a bigger screen but use the camera of the DJI. It also comes with an adapter with a joystick and extra button for when you are not using the camera with your phone. The screen on the DJI is small but you can see everything that you need and its touch screen. Its really easy to navigate and learn the settings/changes/camera modes. So many modes! My favorite is the follow feature. All you do is find your person or dog in the screen and use your finger to hold on the person in the screen and it will lock on to them with a green box. Then the camera will follow them and move all around. You can also use the feature when you have your phone connected and it seems to be easier to use. Theres so many modes you really have to experience it for yourself and learn all that you can do! Recommendations: It comes setup to shoot 1080p. I recommend changing this to 2.7k or 4k for high quality. Also this does not come with a micro sd card. I recommend ordering one at the same time as you will need it to use the DJI Pocket 2. I recommend getting a 128gb or higher as you can easily fill up the storage with 4k video and large 64mp pictures.

I stopped using cameras outside of my phone several years ago. I was quite excited about the prospect of getting high-quality video without having to use my phone at the same time. The packaging was easy to get through. It was ready to go fairly quickly. The screen on the device is very small, so using it without your phone attached can be a pain when going through the settings. When I first inserted a memory card it wouldn't format it. It was previously in a Raspberry Pi, so I had to put it in my Windows machine and do a full format, as the quick format wouldn't allow it to be formatted on the device, either. Once I had completed the full format, it formatted fine in the DJI Pocket 2. The video quality is superb. The stability is beyond anything I have ever used, and far better than the typical phone stabilization. It takes a little time to understand what all of the modes available do for the camera but becomes second nature fairly quickly. All-in-all, I am very satisfied with this device.

I love DJI products. I’ve owned 3 or 4 of their drones and I also owned their phone gimbal. I was going to buy the first edition of the DJI pocket but I ended up getting a GoPro and returning it. I loved the phone gimbal from DJI. It was awesome. I am very familiar with DJI products and their software. I feel that DJI makes their software very easy to use and packs it with a bunch of features. The DJI pocket 2 is no exception. I absolutely love the smooth video (thank you gimbal) as well as the resolution options you have on this device! Its amazing! The things you can do with this device are endless. The build quality of the device speaks volumes about DJI. Same as their drones and every other product I have had from DJI. They really put a lot of effort in to the quality and design of their products and I truly admire DJI for that. I love this device, DJI did a great job on the user interface. The screen is small but once you get use to the screen and controls its very easy to navigate. Excellent photos and videos can be captured off this device. And the case fits nice and snug on the device which is really cool because I didn’t have to out and buy a case for it. It came with one. So, you’re wondering, why did I dock a star? I have had 2 mini SD cards that work absolutely fine in my DJI drone. They are 128GB cards. But for some reason the same 2 cards I use in my DJI drone keep showing up with an error when I turn on the DJI pocket 2. I can turn off and turn back on the pocket 2 several times and it will eventually recognize and allow me to record. I have a couple of other cards that work fine but the fact that I can use the same 128GB cards in other devices without issue does not represent a problem with the cards. So, I’m not sure what the issue is. I would highly recommend the DJI pocket 2 to bloggers and amateur film makers. I was a photographer for many years and the gimbal ability of this small pocket device provides endless possibilities for film makers. DJI also provides a wonderful software suite that is always appreciated by film makers!

This cute handheld camera is loaded with amazing features. I was too impressed with the selfie mode - it is really simple to just double click on a button and the gimbal just turns towards your face. Zooming in while filming also does the audio zoom and it works perfectly fine as described. The Pocket 2 can record 4K video at up to 60fps at a 100Mbps bitrate. Active Track mode: tus mode let’s you focus on a specific object or multiple objects and the camera tracks the object during movement. This feature is really awesome and due to the stability, it is very smooth and seamless. Slow motion: this is one of the best slow motion handheld cameras in the market. The resolution is just amazing. Time lapse: there are different time lapse operations available in pocket 2 and I tried out each mode and the video quality is awesome. Panoramas: * 180° Pano let’s you capture four photos for sweeping landscape images. * 3×3 Pano let’s you merge nine images for a wide and detailed view. The image quality and stabilization is unrivaled for a small camera at this price range. This camera has one of the best electronic stabilizations than any other products in the market. Audio quality is stellar. Pros of the Pocket 2: - Great stabilization - Great image quality - Stellar audio - Great captures during low light - No crashing/freezing - smooth and seamless.

The DJI Pocket 2 3-Axis Stabilized Handheld Camera is pretty impressive. The stabilization feature is what really caught my interest with this camera. With a 1-year-old and an 8-year-old, there's a lot of movement when I'm trying to take pictures with my cellphone. The feature is a nice touch and works well. There are an absolute ton of features with this device, but it's a bit overwhelming for me as a novice. I will definitely be checking out all the how-to videos to get the most out of this camera. The pictures and videos are beautiful. On the con list, the screen is teeny, tiny, but that's a bit to be expected in order for this to be such a small little device. It's a trade-off. It was challenging to put the little cord through on the side for the wrist strap and it just hangs there when you put the case on there. The case is great protection though. Overall, I would recommend this product. The small package makes it a little awkward for a novice since it's a little challenging to squeeze in an intuitive experience in such a small package but it's packed full with options. With a little work and time, I think I'm going to really love this!

This tiny action cam combines the best of a number of worlds. The gimbal system that DJI is famous for from their drones and their slightly bulky Osmo phone products. The cames itself seems to take decent stills and video and matches the quality and performance I'm used to from DJI aerial products. The ability to shoot in RAW and at 64 Megapixels is HUGE. The phone mount system strikes me as a little hokey, but it's there and it works. Redeeming this idea is the fact that you can also slot a control stick with buttons into the same space on the handle and control it without a phone, The gimbal itself is responsive and the camera tracks well. I appreciate the control and modes available in the accompanying app. Overall this product seems made to withstand the kind of abuse that is likely to be thrown at it being used in mobile and under motion way. I would recommend it for someone looking for an action cam, or even those considering a gopro that don't need waterproof.

    Compact, Great Videos, Impressive Stabilization

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The DJI Pocket 2 is compact and portable, takes great quality videos, is intuitive to use, and has impressive stabilization. Overall, it’s a great product for anyone who wants to capture smooth video on the go. The first thing I noticed when I got the Pocket 2 is that it is REALLY small. I knew the dimensions before it arrived, but it still caught me off guard how small the box is, and how compact the device itself is. It has “Pocket” in the name for a reason! Speaking of which, I was worried the controls might be hard to work on such a tiny camera, especially since the touch screen is about the size of a postage stamp. Fortunately, there are two physical buttons, and an included accessory adds a third button and a tiny joystick. The software makes smart use of single, double, and triple clicks, and lets you toggle the joystick between pan and zoom modes. This means most of what I need to do while shooting happens with physical controls. When it comes to the on-screen controls, many of the movements are full screen swipes from side to side or top to bottom, which means that even with so little real estate, they work easily. For the finer controls that require better aim, I dug out an old soft-tipped stylus since my fat fingers missed their mark a few times. The really, really impressive thing about the Pocket 2 is the three-axis stabilization. We’re often doing something outside involving movement -- hiking on trails, running through the neighborhood, horseback riding, or just keeping up with our toddler as she runs, walks, climbs, or rides around. As you can imagine, before the Pocket 2, many of our videos were frustratingly choppy. It is SO COOL how the Pocket 2 lets me capture all sorts of action without those annoying bumps and shakes. I’ve tried chasing after the little one, tracking my wife as she rides and jumps her horse around the ring, or and capturing incredible views from a nearby trail… the results are incredible every time. No more bouncing, no more uneven framing, no more jarring swings from side to side that make the viewer queasy. Everything is just so smooth and cinematic. There are also some helpful software features, like face tracking and auto-follow. These aren’t perfect, but do a reasonable job of keeping the lens pointed at your subject as you move around them. Videos are crisp and clear, and stereo audio is a really nice feature for immersive results. Auto-focus did a great job of keeping up with things, large and small, fast and slow, although there were a few times that it took a moment to adjust. I still need to try some of the more advanced focus options, though, which will probably help. There’s no flash or light on the Pocket 2, so outdoors during the day or indoors in well-lit rooms has yielded the best results. The Pocket 2 does alright in medium light, but isn’t nearly as impressive in dim/dark settings. The Pocket 2 includes a sleeve style case that feels snug and seems to protect the camera nicely. When you power off the Pocket 2, the camera rotates on its axis so that it’s tucked away facing the inside of the case, not exposed. Still, this is not a “rugged” case… just some protection from what else may be in your bag or pocket. The SD card slot and USB-C port both face out when the Pocket is in its case, which is convenient. One disappointing quirk about the Pocket 2 is how it interacts with smartphones. As best I can tell, the Pocket 2 NEEDS to be connected to a phone to accomplish the initial activation. You can also connect it to your phone while shooting to take advantage of the larger screen (for viewfinder and on-screen controls). There are Lightning (Apple) and USB-C (most others) connectors included the box, and they even store smartly in the Pocket 2 case when not in use. Unfortunately, we had to take the case off of our phones to get them to work, even though we use relatively low-profile ones. Even with the cases off, holding the Pocket 2 and a phone together while moving around and shooting just felt awkward, and I accidentally disconnected a few times. All said and done, I just don’t see myself ever using the Pocket 2 while connected to a phone. The only other thing I can find fault with is the non-removeable battery. I’m getting fairly reasonable battery life, but it would be great to be able to carry a spare and pop it in… or replace the battery someday if it ever stops holding a charge. I’m very happy with the Pocket 2 despite the small complaints noted above. I’ve taken a ton of fantastic videos already, and they’re so much fun to share with friends. Everyone comments on how smooth the results are. I would feel comfortable recommending the Pocket 2 to a friend.
