The included prop guards help a lot with the first few flights! Also, if you enable beginner mode and go to a large field (100 ft x 100 ft or more) - you can fly the drone and get used to it without worrying that it will get too far away or fly too fast!

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was a gift for my step father - He has flown it several times - this last time, after the final take off test (all was functional and connected) it lost gps signal and started to move on it’s own while in the air, no matter what we tried it would not respond to the controls - long story short it flew away to an unknown location and couldn’t find it anywhere! Tech support was responsive (as long as it’s a week day) and have us suggestions but still did not find it. Now my step father is out a drone and 600$ - hopefully after the “investigation” they discover it was a drone malfunction and they can help him get another drone. Make sure you attach some kind of tracking device to your drone and write your name and phone number on it in hopes if someone finds it they aren’t selfish enough to keep it for themselves.

Overall a great drone

I had one of those drug-store-special heli's a few years ago that was pretty fun indoors although a pain to actually fly. I watched lots of video reviews on it and the accessories and the fly more combo is a must-have. The additional range with the RC is a mandatory item for what my plans are. So far, the camera has been great and I'm learning the manual settings. I think the carry bag is garbage and I'll be picking up a case in the near future with individual slots for each piece. All outdoor flights have been in the 20F's so battery range has been around 11-14 minutes. I look forward to many flights with this!
