I loved the original and even a the remake so I was excited to hear they were making this film. In all I think it was a good movie, a little confusing but that was true of the original and I think intentional to a point. If you haven't seen the Shining you need to watch it first to get the most out of what is going on here.

I saw the theatrical cut before and enjoyed it. When I found out about this extended cut I had to see what it was all about. An additional 30 minutes makes for a more engaging story. No spoilers here, so watch for yourself!

This was so worth watching! It was an excellent movie that captured my attention from the beginning! I love stories that make you want to keep watching and waiting to see what happens next! I highly recommend seeing this!

This is definitely a pretty great, and what I thought would be impossible, sequel to The Shining. Its not the same as The Shining but it takes the story in a different direction while honoring the original. 5/5 stars

This sequel carries on the original "The Shining" legacy with all of the fear, fright and suspense you were accustomed to in the first film! The steelbook itself is a nice little addition to the whole process if you can spring for it too!!

The movie itself is great and it looks terrific in 4K. But, Warner Bros. made a hugely frustrating move by only putting the director's cut of the film on the standard Blu-Ray. Thus, it is impossible to watch the ideal version of the movie in the best format. Also, no commentary track, and the bonus features are a bit slight.

When it was announced this was being made I was excited to see where it would go. I wasn’t let down at all. Doctor Sleep delivers and bridges The Shining, Stephen King’s book to Kubrick’s iconic film in a way I didn’t think was possible.

The Steelbook I'll admit doesn't look the fanciest, but once it was in my hands I felt a deeper appreciation for it. It looks great on the shelf, and seeing the front up close it looks a lot better than I thought it would. Plus, this is such a good movie that it deserves a nice Steelbook packaging. I'm very happy I bought it.

I loved this movie. This a spinoff from The Shining. The boy is now an adult dealing with his shining abilities which brings in others with these powers as well. Great story, action, and actors were terrific.

Great story which includes some of the plot of the movie "The Shining"! I viewed the Director's Cut which added 30 minutes more to the already lengthy 2 and one half hours. The 3 hours of movie went by quickly!

Once again I Stephen King Classic has made it to film for those of you who love Horrors and suspense you won't be disappointed picking this title up definitely not for the younger crowd pick it up today you won't be disappointed

I wasn't sure how I would like it, but was surprised to find I did. Spoiler: the movie is different than the book, but was still interesting and enjoyable. (It did make me curious enough to go online to find the differences)

The movie itself is subject to interpretation but the steelbook has a nice presentation to it. It doesn't offer much more than exclusive artwork but if you bought the original Shining in steelbook, this compliments it nicely.

Much better but without the Shining this wouldn't exist. I was skeptical at first being a "gory" movie, but was advised to rent and watch it, turned out fantastic, IMO it kind of helped explain and expand a lot on The Shining.

I was not expecting the movie to be as good as it was. The story was great and the adaptation does justice to the source material and to the Kubrick Shining. It looks glorious in 4K. I wish that the Director's Cut was in 4K.

This was a fantastic movie, one of our favorites from 2019. The video quality on the disc is great and the special features are excellent. You also get the theatrical and director’s cut versions of the movie digitally!

No doubt about it – this is a spook story that is also accompanied by a sound-track that amplifies the spirit of each scene that is enhanced by 7.1 Dolby ATMOS. The sagas character is a bit strange and at times difficult to follow. As presented, the story-line is seemingly not-well organized and it lacks continuity or purpose except that it does put a scare into the viewer. The saga is staged in a series of Chapters that are both Titled and Annotated – perhaps the Directors attempt to add continuity to a disjointed story-line. The movies story-line is well acted by a troop of quality actors who told their stories well but the film is none the less not well organized. So, if you are into “Creep” then this film should be good one for you.

For a movie that was this long, it did not disappoint at all. Being a huge Steven King fan, I was so glad to see that they made this into such a great movie, since Hollywood has been known to butcher some of his work.

Bought 2 copies online from Best Buy which arrived with Slipcovers (on release day) in Perfect Condition - Very pleased with Best Buy Delivery service. !!

I'm hoping when Hollywood thinks about making a sequel to a movie that came out years ago, I'm hoping they look back at movies like Doctor Sleep (and Bill & Ted Face the Music). I had a blast with this movie
