This is a follow up to The Shinning and I didn't know if they could pull it off, but this movie totally exceeded my expectations. Ewen McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson are great in the movie and give good performances. Picture and Audio are top notch.

Doctor Sleep is a great scifi and horror film great performances and great visual effects. I haven't watched the director's cut yet but I throughly enjoyed the theatrical version. Has great callbacks to The Shining and adds something new to the Shining mythology.

The Shining is a fantastic film that's hard to follow up. I never read the Doctor Sleep novel so I went into the movie blind. It started off rather shaky but after about 45min I was invested. Doctor Sleep stands on its own as a very good film

Loved Doctor Sleep when I viewed it in theaters. Love it more on blu-ray with the addition of the Director's Cut. An additional 30 minutes of footage has been inserted to the theatrical version. The Director's Cut makes for a more "complete" film. It's fantastic.

Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, it's a sequel to the story "The Shining". Which is also another novel by Stephen King. If you liked the horror and thrills that The Shining brought to the table then you'll enjoy this film.

Haven't watched the director's cut yet but was so impressed with DOCTOR SLEEP as a follow up to THE SHINING. It carries itself incredibly well while still giving reverence to the original film. Home video presentation is top notch.

A darn good movie. One of the better I've seen in a while. While I admit I have not read the book so I can't compare it to that. The movie is mystical, magical, and entertaining. It's well written, got great character development, great magical effects and concepts. Movie or book, come on. It's Steven King! I've never seen anything of his I didn't like.

If you liked The Shinning, you’ll like Doctor Sleep, it’s very moving, intense and will have you in full suspense. Would I suggest watching it with your family? Probably not. It might scare the little ones a bit too much.

great followup to the shining. recommend you watch the shining first, this movie really builds on 'the shine' if you dont understand that youre not ready for this movie. good watch, not a creepy film like part one, id consider this just a cool scifi watch

I watched 'The Shining' and this film back-to-back, and SOO happy I did. There were so many nuances that stood out in the film, and the story was so well executed and performed. We immediately bought the book after it finished. Would recommend!

This one respects both the beloved classic first film and the original novel. Plus whatever is added to the lore doesn't detract from the source. Well filmed and well acted. The only knock against it is the inherent inability to compare to original film, but that is to be expected. Watch the director's cut blu-ray. It's great

This movie sneaks up on you a bit. I thought that the casting of Ewan McGregor as Danny was spot on. Rebecca Ferguson was amazing, as well as her band of Shine Stealers. I also liked the way this movie tied back to the original. Very inventive storyline.

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I watched this, I had heard little about it but am a fan of kings Shining book and kubrick's film and even didn't mind the TV miniseries, but this seemed to combine the three and also be original as well.

This movie was a great sequel to the shining. I believe that I liked this one even better than the original. I have watched this movie 3 times and you pick up on stuff you missed on previous watches. Definitely a good movie to own

Just being able to build on the lore of The Shining and not completely ruin a classic is impressive. Actually creating a movie that can do that and stand on its own as a great film is incredible. Only movie worth purchasing so far in 2020.

A "sleeper" of a follow-up to the original tension filled Stephen King thriller "The Shining". Young Danny is all grown up, but still terrorized by all he endured at The Overlook hotel in his youth. All memories and horrors return n his re-visit to the now abandoned hotel. A must see for all Stegphen King fans!

Doctor Sleep is one of those few movies that you just might have to watch a second time to fully appreciate the story and all the characters within. This is an overall good movie but the original "The Shining" is far more creepier and scary in my opinion. About half an hour too long but still very enjoyable.

I didn’t even realize this was a directors cut when I bought it, and to make it even better it’s an extra half hour! Not this like 8 minute gimmick a lot of “directors cuts” do nowadays. It’s weird that the cover looks like Rogue Nation though.

Great thriller/horror flick continuing with the Shining storyline. It's surprisingly good and engaging, if not a little long. It has some scary, disturbing scenes so I wouldn't recommend for someone under 16 or 17 years old.

This is a great follow up to The Shining. The acting is superb and the atmosphere makes this a must watch. I would advise watching the director's cut as opposed to the theatrical cut. It fleshes the story out further and adds so much more.
