Already had the Criterion version. Got this for my steelbook collection.

I admit, I bought this just for the cover artwork. But it's a great movie.

This is a great movie and better on Blu-ray. A must for Peter Sellers fans

Peter Sellers is very funny. The show is a funny satire.

I heard lots of people loved this movie so I was really excited when I bought it, but what a disappointment, I didn't like the movie at all, not my cup of tea. Maybe people find Peter Sellers funny, I don't find him funny at all.

This is a great steelbook, i love the presentation. The film itself is great! I had not hesrd of it before and bought it soley on the steelbook artwork and it did not disappoint.

I'm really not into these kind of movies. My son likes the director, so I bought it as a Christmas gift.

This is the funniest film ever made. Peter Sellers at his peak, with the most biting satire ever devised. This comes from the minds of co-writers Stanley Kubrick and Terry Southern. The plot is as follows in a nutshell: General Jack D. Ripper goes mad and orders his planes to go attack Russia. The rest of the film consists of the rest of the world trying to prevent this occurance. The film only has three locations: Ripper's office, the cockpit of a B-52, and the War Room. To put it simply this film is a comedy about "nuculur combat toe to toe with the Ruuskies." Every viewing gives a new aspect to the film. Although Peter Sellers is brilliant, every other character is flawless: George C. Scott walks away with the film, as manly General Turgidson. Filled to brim with taut direction, Dr. Strangelove is not only a comedic masterpiece, it is a master enjoying himself creating a masterwork of art. Note: This is the edition to get. i cannot stress this enough. This DVD has Kubrick's approved alternating transfer that switches between 1.33:1 and 1.66:1. The new "restored anniversary edition" has a 1.66:1 transfer that crops the top and bottom of the frame completely off. I've compared the two, and the only good thing about the new edition is a few bonus features. This edition has plenty though. And it has a much better price with Kubrick's true vision of the film.

This Stanley Kubrick film is perhaps the best dark comedy ever made! General Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden) basically goes bonkers and launches a nuclear assault against Russia. With only hours until his planes reach their targets, Ripper's aide Captain Mandrake (Peter Sellers) attempts to talk sense into him. At the same time, the President (Sellers again) tries to contemplate other options given to him by both General Buck Turgidson (George C. Scott) and the title character (Sellers yet again), who informs him of what could be done should the worst occur. Like all great comedies, this film has hilarious lines. There was also a ring of truth to it in 1964 (the height of the Cold War & the true beginning of the U.S.'s involvement in Vietnam) which, given the paranoia of the post-9/11 era, is still relevant today. This movie, released the same year as the first two Pink Panther films (The Pink Panther & A Shot in the Dark), represents the high mark of Peter Sellers's genius.

If you love black comndy your love this gem of a film by the great Stanley Kubrick! You're crack up when the president Merkin Muffley (Peter Sellers) who has three roles in this film tells "Super-Hawk"Gen. Buck Turgidson (George C. Scott) "gentle men you can't fight in here it's the war room". This movie also has a young James Earl Jones and Slim Pickens.

This movie is solid. Kubrick hit the nail on the head with this dark comedy. Pete Sellers is an excellent actor. Aside from the movie, the packaging is definitely awesome. Any steelbook is excellent, but the design and quality is top notch and is a must have for any collection.

An absolute classic worth upgrading. This is one of my favorite films and while I already have it on DVD there is no question that it is worth upgrading to the Blu-ray ....the picture is absolutely pristine and the audio is spectacular

I could watch this movie again and again. Peter Sellers, Slim Pickens, and George C. Scott all play excellent roles in this movie. Some of my favorite movie quotes come from this movie. 'Shoot, I guy could a pretty good weekend in Vegas with this stuff.'

So many reasons to watch this film. A Kubrick masterpiece with an unmatched cast of characters. Not really dark humor but an unforgettable warning to the world of the possibility of nuclear holocaust.

Definitely an interesting and different movie. Some of the I bought this one because I originally saw it about 4 years ago and when I found it was on bluray, I couldn't resist buying it.
