Classic film, definitely pretty good as musical films go

Good movie. Wonderful mood. Fabulous story. Songs are terrific. Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson are great!

I enjoyed the story, similar to the start of Diana Ross and the Supremes. But the movie pretends to be a musical and the characters break out into long drawn out songs that quickly start to stink like day old fish.

It's a story about a singer who over comes domestic violence to become a music star.

This movie is definitely a must see for people who like musicals. It is well acted and the musical numbers are well choreographed. And of course Jennifer Hudson does an amazing job and she deserves the Academy award for it. Which she did Get.

Good movie with Jennifer hudson & beyonceeeee! Would recommend

The movie was fabulous! The performances were outstanding! Jennifer Hudson was amazing! I love her Effie White character. The only downside to the movie was Beyonce's less than mediocre acting skills. Although Eddie Murphy performance was excellent, he is not the best singer but he was still great in the movie. Overall, the movie is a must-see for musical lovers!!

If you are a fan of musicals, than you already have this movie, but for those of you that aren't, this is still a great movie. Let go of the fact that its a musical, and enjoy Eddie Murphy's return, Jamie Foxx standing tall, Beyonce playing well Beyonce (not a big stretch), and Jennifer Hudson making a breakout performance. You will cry, laugh and give a standing ovation, even at home.

This is a great musical! It's not fair to downgrade the movie because you don't like musicals. This movie has a lot of singing in it but the songs are gorgeous and bold. Jennifer Hudson delivers an amazingly performance. Jamie Foxx is outstanding and Eddie Murphy is awesome. The music is powerful and adds to the already interesting plot. Beyonce - you go, girl!

I love this film.I got the CD first to enjoy the music .The music is fantastic If you love big voices ,you'll love this film.One of my favorites .

Eddie Murphy stole the show. His singing was amazing. Jamie Foxx was outstanding in the film. If you like great singing this is film for you.

I have to honestly say I have not seen this movie all the way through. I have tried to on exactly 7 different occasions, and my stomach literally turns because it is a horrible movie. It is a musical for starters which I flat out hate. TOO MUCH SINGING!!! They are singing 95% of the time. Even when they are fighting and mad they start wailing into a song.... YAWNNNNNN....wake me when its over....
