This version of Judge Dredd I think lives up to the comic, more violence, more gore and more ruthlessness. The acting was on par, nothing out of the ordinary from an action shootem'up in your face movie. The visuals are striking especially the parts which have the scenes in slow motion, using the drugs. The movie gets straight to the point and doesn't drag. The action sequences are good and fall nothing short of great, I still like the first Judge Dredd movie, but this one was a fresh reboot.

well all i can say is this movie is a good movie bc it has everything you want in a action movie and it is better than the 90's version don't get me wrong the 90's version is a popcorn action movie and i like it too but dredd is a very good movie so if you want to see an action movie with lots of bullets flying around and action from start to finish i would check this out

The movie is a simple sci-fi action film set in a post-nuclear future with Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) training a psychic rookie (Olivia Thrilby) in a wasteland society of crime and anarchy. Translated well from the 1975 comic of same name, the movie is simple blunt action and violence with questions on violence over justice. A few surprises in the mix, but no different from mixing 'Mad Max', 'Bladerunner' or 'Robocop' with Dirty Harry in the bowl.

I watched Dredd expecting a dumb action movie that I wouldn't enjoy much, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was. Even though some scenes are over the top, the actors play it straight and the sincerity actually makes for a genuinely exciting experience that I became invested in. The BD presentation is fantastic with excellent sound and video quality. Good price and shopping experience at Best Buy retail.

Karl Urban does an exponentially better job as Judge Dredd than Stallone in the titular role. This movie is graphic(as it should be), well-acted(not a huge surprise) and the budget was low. Not every movie needs a huge budget to be amazing. Unfortunately, it was not a blockbuster. Dredd just isn't a very popular character. This movie is good and you should give it a chance.

I have tried and returned two different copies of this from best buy. Neither would load. I tried them on 2 different 3d blu ray players and both were up to date with software. They must have gotten a bad batch. Hope this gets straightened out soon so I can enjoy it!

I saw this in the theatre when it came out. Poor marketing led to this film's box office performance. Stays true to the comic roots. I can't wait to see it again.

Movie comes with a disk that is both 3d and 2d bluray. Story is pretty cool, colors look amazing when they do the slowmo, but throughout you can see like a weird lenticular like filter..kinda distracting at times but like I said for 5 bucks it's worth to own. I would recommend to a friend, not so much to their kids tho.

This was a very pleasant surprised when I saw this in theaters. The ad campaign and trailers didn't do it justice. The 3D, which I am not totally sold on, was the best I have seen it. This is a non-stopping fighting and action that doesn't let itself up until the end. Karl Urban is an excellent actor and I am glad to see him getting some awesome roles.

Good movie but only played a few times till the disc was unreadable thought it was my player but tried it on others still not readable. I notice that the DVD was defective and also notice more and more BRay disc are becoming this way from the manufacturing companies they need to fix the problem before people start going back to regular DVDs again.

Didn't not see it in the theaters but after watching the blu-ray I wish I had. Love the fact that it was kept true to the feeling of the real Judge Dredd comic. Had no problems watching the blu-ray or digital copy. Wish it had more extras, but that isn't a biggie. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves comics or sci-fi movies.

If you're looking for classic Dredd then you'll probably not like this one but it is nicely re-done. I've heard comments about viewers not liking that Dredd never takes his helmet off, however he is in action for 99% of the movie! I wouldn't take my helmet off either...

Having never seen anything Dredd related in my life, I had no expectations going into this. And honestly, I loved this film! The story is fun and engaging, the FX are phenomenal, and the 3D features are jaw-droppingly gorgeous! Definitely worth every cent!

if you saw the Stallone version, this is much different, non-stop action, there is no real character development, just pure visceral action

so if you liked or hated the earlier Judge Dredd, there's a good chance you'll have the opposite reaction watching this one. I haven't read a lot of the comics, but this feels more faithful to the spirit of the source material.

A treat for the senses, this iteration of the Judge Dredd story is a smaller snapshot (like a day in the life of) than the Stallone vehicle of yesteryear but the current graphics, sound design and overall feel is much better.

Dredd didn't receive a lot of buzz when it was in theaters, but it is a great pure action film. Hearkening back to 80's action films, Carl Urban is great as Dredd. It earns its R rating and is all the better for it.

This is one of the best 3-D movies I have in my collection. There is plenty of use of slow motion, so the viewer can truly appreciate the 3-D effect. I highly recommend this movie for those who love gimmicky "in your face" 3-D effects.

Apparently this is an issue with Best Buy copies so I'll resort to watching the digital copy until I exchange it.
