Even though this movie got some hate, I really liked it, really enjoyed it.

great remake much better than SS version. There was talk of making into a TV series

Fun comic book film to watch. Just had to own this in Blu-Ray and Digital HD.

But not for the faint of heart if you dislike hard "R" depictions of violence

If you enjoyed this in the theater or on previous home releases, then you owe it to yourself to own the 4K steelbook! The 4K is gorgeous and gritty, and the steelbook just makes the package that much better. I will admit that this is one of the rare films that I actually prefer in 3D over 4K, and I am thankful that I did purchase the 3D blu ray when it was available, but due to 3D being dead in the United States for the home, then this release is the way you want to go. This Dredd captures the look, feel, and soul of the comic series far better than Judge Dredd did in 1995 when they first tried to make a movie out of it. I think we are all hopeful for an eventual sequel, but if it never comes, at least we have a more or less perfect version of the character here.

Comic books movies lately have taken on a more serious tone. In Dredd, that's a good thing. After all, you can't dispense "judgement" with a PG-13 rating. Alex Garland's (28 Days Later, Sunshine) screenplay is great, depicting Dredd (a perfectly casted, Karl Urban) as a "seasoned" judge, taking rookie Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) on her first assignment. From the moment Dredd's helmet is on, it's all business, carrying out judgements with the authority of RoboCop, assessing situations like a Terminator, all while schooling Anderson like that english teacher you hated in high school. With nothing more than the bottom half of his face revealed, Urban impeccably communicates Dredd's disdain for lawbreakers using nothing more than his gruff, guttural voice and his multi-faceted Lawbringer. All the acting and action is top notch. You won't see any movie cliches, red herrings or unnecessary Michael Bay explosions. You don't have to be a comic book fan to enjoy this movie. Sit back, press play and enjoy the judgement.

And most importantly, awesome kills and violence. Highly recommend.
