This is a hard R movie. But if you're looking for an all out action movie with an amazing usage of surround sound, this is one for you. Best Buy has once again given a wonderful steelbook option for those that enjoy this providing an amazing 4K disc and the option of 3D on the standard blu-ray disc. I previously had the 3D version and feel that is a great way to experience the movie but the 4K doesn't disappoint.

This is a more gritty, realistic and true to the source material version of the Dredd comics. Stallone's portrayal of the titular character was awesome, but it was more Rambo than Dredd. This version is for the diehard fans who aren't afraid of the sometimes hyper-realistic outcomes. The campy, not-taking-itself-too-serious earlier Dredd movie was what you take a girlfriend to on your first date. This is the one you watch with someone you know really gets you, who won't judge. (No pun intended)

If you love this movie as much as I did, then purchase Dredd SteelBook Edition. Exterior and interior shows off new artwork that is expertly designed. New artwork has been pressed on the discs. Position the blu-ray on the right of the interior and it matches the artwork. Blu-ray includes 3D version. UHD picture is an improvement. Dredd UHD SteelBook gets 5 stars because I can't give it 10 stars.

I originally saw this on Netflix and thought to myself that this seems to be an excellent ripoff of The Raid. Only when I looked into this film further did I realize that the script was written before the Raid. Karl Urban was spot-on as Dredd and truly carried the film as the title character who acts as an emotionless lawman who cares for nothing but the law. There were also a number of good performances by the supporting characters and an exciting climax to the film. Excellent visual effects throughout and the Blu-Ray quality is excellent on a large screen TV.

I bought this blu ray 3d and 2d for $6.00 + tax and was shockingly surprised at how well done this film really is. Karl Urban is a favorite actor of mine and he is great as Dredd, and the rest of the cast is just as good. The slo-mo scenes are so beautiful and mesmerizing, especially in 3d, you can't take your eyes off of the screen. DTS MA 7.1 sound is ear candy to go with visuals. An excellent value for a 3d film that doesn't disappoint.

The 3D experience here is similarly kind of nonintuitive. Instead of thrusting objects into the virtual face of the viewer, it chooses to go a more subtle route, by "suggesting" depth through extreme close-ups of faces. Allot of shots are through foreground objects like chain link fences and wiring, but those are typically out of focus and don't appreciably add to the visual immersion. The film's kind of soft and often monochromatic color scheme also may not initially seem to offer much in the way of a 3D "wow" factor, but there are several standout sequences nonetheless.

Really awesome movie, wish more people watched it but i thought it was pretty true to the lore and worlds better than the stalone rendition. This 4k presentation was very beneficial with the hdr due to the the color grading/filter used throught the film that gives it that iconic look especially when the slow motion/ tripping scene happen. Audio was amazing as well, super punchie and clear.

Wow, really wasn't expecting much out of this, but for sale price of 3.99 as it often is, I figured I would give it a go when the wife and I want a mindless action flick to watch. Was very surprised that it is as good as it is. Great characters in a fun (albeit cookie cutter) dystopian world. Great villain, great motivation for characters, wonderful development of those characters in a small set, almost real time length, and a great set up if they decide to take this the franchise route. Which I hope they do.

I haven’t seen the movie before but the cool cover art sold me on this steelbook. This has to be one of the coolest covers I’ve ever seen on a steelbook the art is amazing definitely worth the buy and I love how some of these newer movies are coming with clear slips I wish all the different studios would take notice so we wouldn’t have to spend more money to protect are collections

Many don't know that Dredd first appeared in Marvel comics, I am not saying that this specific is part of the MCU but is still a good movie and I add it to my collection in case it ever does a debut in the MCU

I have seen this movie maybe 100 times over, through rentals and owning this BluRay I got at an awesome sale price recently. I have also seen the previous Judge Dredd movie with Sly, many times, and this movie kicks its rear-end. More serious, less cheesy, and violence that makes me wanna scream for a SEQUEL! DREDD 2! Yeah they better! This movie is the DREDD I love to watch over & over again. Psychic rookie Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) is bad-A & freaking HOT! So is Ma-Ma. Rawrrrr. She is crazy hot too!

Fantastic cover art inside and out! Loved this from the first time I saw it, sad that it didn't get a sequel, Karl Urban was absolutely perfect for the role. Hoping it will eventually get the follow up that it deserves! The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because apparently the digital code only redeems in HD instead of 4K : (

A underrated Sci-Fi experience. Overall very entertaining and the Dolby Vision is impressive. The movie stand out is it’s Dolby Atmos sound. From the opening credits to the end your home theater set up will get a work out. Handsome Steelbook is a very nice touch. Is your looking for some great science fiction entertainment this will not disappoint.

This a much better adaptation than the original. The Dredd character does seem to be written a certain way since the character talks and acts the same in both novies. The story line takes place in the future according to someones vision. I will say I enjoyed it and thought it did move fairly well. Karl Urban seems to be building catalog of SCI-FI and fantasy films with The Hobbit and Star Treks in addition. I do say I enjoy his work though the character did not call for too much stretching. I was surprised I liked it.

I absolutely loved this film. For fans of Judge Dredd or just action junkies in general, you can't go wrong here. It's non stop action from start to finish. The only thing I miss on the home version is the 3D I witnessed in theaters, as this film boasted some of the most amazing 3D effects I've seen to date. But none the less it looks amazing in 4K, and it's one of those flicks you can watch over and over again to get your action fix. Definitely recommend.

Excellent pure action movie. Judge Dredd is finally back again and in 4k HDR with beautiful steelbook packaging. Still enjoy this line from the movie "As for you, Ma-Ma, judgement time" Highly recommended! Beautiful 4k video and amazing dolby atmos sound. Can't beat it for $19.99.

I was not a big fan of the 1995 Judge Dredd movie and for a long time felt that another attempt wouldn't be made at another movie after that. Dredd, however, proves that a good Judge Dredd movie can be made. It's very much meant for adult audiences and that's what I love about it. The story is well paced, the music fits the atmosphere well, and the acting is fantastic. Karl Urban truly is Dredd! I just wish it had been more of a success at the box office to warrant a sequel.

This is a great movie to watch in 3D. While i was highly hesitant to watch a Judge Dredd remake, i ended up loving every minute of it. The 3D Depth and effects are great, and the acting by Karl Urban as Judge Dredd is superb. Only downside to this movie is the lack of plot really. Man enters building, man gets stuck in building, now man must figure out how to get out of building. Its a good action flick which i would recommend to kill some time and not use brain cells much on a good day off.

I love this movie, it's a shame that it didn't do better in the theaters, because it certainly would be nice to see a sequel. For anyone wanting to compare this to the Stallone version, they're vastly different. This movie is far more gritty and real by comparison, and it's more faithful to the source material (comic nerd nitpickiness). I still have fond memories of Stallone's, but that was a shiny, more Hollywood-ish take and IMO, not nearly as good as the Karl Urban version.

It wasn't until I watched Dredd in Ultra HD that I really understood how weird the colors and clarity on the previous Blu-ray release were. While some sections are still (perhaps intentionally) scratchy, the 4K edition makes the film pop so much more it's a wonder a few bullets didn't zip straight out of my TV.
