This is a movie for film buffs, not for car lovers. As you've probably noticed, the bad reviews come from car lovers who were hoping for a car chase movie. This isn't that movie. This is a movie about characters; people who draw you in and who you want to know more about. It's also a movie about the art of film making and how style can deliver substance. The director, Nicolas Winding Refn, brings a vision to this movie that is both fresh and yet familiar. Film noir meets street style. This is also an actors movie. The sparse dialog means they bring their characters to us through the play of emotions on their faces as much as through their words. Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling have a great chemistry and they really don't need to say anything because you can see what they're feeling. I also have to say that the "extras" that come with this edition are among the best I've ever seen. The interview with Nicolas Winding Refn is really great and the fact is, I've watched the extras more times than the movie. If you're a film buff, you will want to own this movie.

This movie will take you on a wild and alarming ride into the mind of a gentle man who reaches his breaking point when his emotions interfere with his "job" as a get away driver. Ryan Gosling deserved a best actor nomination for this portrayal of a silent hero. Mel brooks delivers as a bad guy who I also feel should have been nominated. Great cast, great score, great plot, great movie. My favorite picture of the year, and I've seen all 10 nominated for best picture.

Stripped to the bone. That's what "Drive" is, essentially. It's an action film that takes all the ancillary things normally associated with the genre and tosses them out the window, leaving only the core elements behind. If you're looking for "The Fast and the Furious, featuring Ryan Gosling," you'll be very disappointed. In fact, "Drive" is just about the polar opposite of that concept: where you might expect a convoluted story, characters with transparent motives, and slick action, you get a simple plot, an enigmatic hero, and shockingly brutal violence. How simple is the plot, and enigmatic the hero? Let's put it this way: Gosling's character doesn't even have a name. But that's the point: the Driver doesn't need a name. All he needs is a mission. To say more would spoil the surprises that the admittedly minimalistic plot has in store. Suffice to say the performances are great (Gosling is terrific, but the real treat here is Albert Brooks' vicious turn), the action sequences are pulse-pounding, and director Nicolas Winding Refn guides the film along beautifully. "Drive" was my pick for the best film of 2011, and it's well worth checking out.

WATCHED DRIVE LAST NIGHT ON BLURAY.WOW!!! THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT.GOOD STORY AND GOOD ACTING. RYAN PLAYED A VERY SMOOTH CAT. SLOW IN THE BEGGINNING BUT KICKS @$$ IN THE END.SOME VERY VIOLENT SCENES IN THE ELEVATOR, IN THE HOTEL ROOM ,AT THE GARAGE. VERY SURPISING MOVIE, I WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR ADULTS. ENJOY AND STAY HEAVY!!!!

This was my favorite movie from 2011. Can't believe that it got snubbed by the academy. The cinematography was amazing and the story line was great. If your looking for a mindless car chase movie like the fast and the furious then this movie is not for you, but if you want a movie with some quality and thought then this is a must see.

As a fan of the film, i'd be difficult for me not to recommend this to other fans. The artwork is downright beautiful, especially when paired with the steelbook case. The Blu-Ray is the same that's been around for a while, packed with all of the features you're used to seeing. $14.99 may seem like a bit of a steep price, but if you love the movie and like being able to show your friends your beautiful limited edition films like I do, then it's well worth it.

People who are complaining about lack of "driving" please go pick up one of the many Fast and Furious films. If you want a film with some depth and substance then Drive is your movie.

Such a great movie, Ryan Gosling has this charm about him in this movie but he's a man that doesn't like when you mess with what's his. This is a movie I almost passed on seeing but is now a movie I can see myself watching over and over. a must see!

Ryan Gosling did a great job in this movie. I felt like this movie was one of his better one's where his character developed well throughout the movie. Additionally the movie was fun and thrilling. A must have film in any collection. I just wish they had a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack rather than the solo Blu-ray. Can't complain though. Less than $10 is a great deal.

Awesome performances straight thru. An all-star cast that makes you root for bad people. Gosling does his best strong silent Clint Eastwood performance. I love the minimalist steelbook - this film is a fun bloody watch every time.

Drive is an excellent movie. The blu-ray is presented with amazing picture and audio quality and really shines. Only downside would be the extras. Would have liked to see a larger making of documentary. For sure worth a purchase though.

This is definitely a movie that is either love it or hate it. I'm in the love it camp. The cinematography is gorgeous (looks and sounds fantastic on blu-ray) and the story very entertaining. Highly recommended!

I honestly can't say enough good things about this movie. It's moody, dark, and has a phenomenal soundtrack. If you aren't hooked in the first 5 minutes, I don't wanna know you. A fun ride from beginning to end.

I don't know many people who have heard of this film, and that is their loss. Ryan Gosling really has a great built a great career and this is another film that is proof of that.

Started out slow, story line draws you in when the dialogue doesn't. Do not have to worry about too much of the dialogue though. Didn't think I would care for this movie, but after watching it once, looking forward to the next viewing.

Ryan Gosling did such an amazing job in this role. I feel that this movie is underrated and think everyone should watch this! I've watched this a few times now, and each time I like it even more.

Ryan Gosling is very stoic as a man who seeks to do good. You can't always control the bad or the woman who lives next door.

The opening sequence to the film is fantastic! This movie has a different feel to it than most films these days. I won't spoil anything but this is a movie definitely worth checking out.

Seriously, if you love music and visuals, this movie is for you! However this film is not dialogue heavy, but that shouldn't really matter because the film is great!
