I hope Best Buy will carry more DROP Lord of the Rings products really soon, because this was an instant buy when I saw it in the store. The mat is smooth, flat, and very soft. The mat did have a slightly packaging smell, but it aired out over night. Nothing crazy or worth of less than five out five stars.

My only major complaint is the embossed DROP logo on the backside of the deskpad. You can feel it from the front.

Though the thread count is a little coarse, my mouse has no trouble gliding on it. It looks fantastic unless you're scrutinizing it up close. Plus, you can't beat the value for the price.
