    This is a beautifully filmed version of Frank Herbert's Dune. it is the first installation of the tome and has a who's who of Hollywood's biggest names. Love or hate Timotheé Chalamet, his despondent and analytical portrayal feels suitable for the role. I'm not going to compare this to other adaptations as that's disingenuous. Each piece of art should rise and fall on its own merits. What David Lynch would have done has little bearing on what is good or bad about this movie. The set design and visual effects are wonderful and the sound design helps carry the story.
