I think it helps understanding the structure of the movie before watching. Movie covers the events of Operation Dynamo from the land, air and sea. The events on land take place over a week, sea a day and land an hour. All three converge during the last 20 minutes of the film. As a result, certain characters may appear in one in certain predicaments on land scenes, only be shown a few minutes later into the film in completely different circumstances in a sea scene.

The audio and the BASS was just Amazing! I just didn't like the separate stories of the movie. For me, it made it harder to follow.

This is a unique film that portrays a day in the life of English soldiers trying to get out of Dunkirk. We don't learn names or have any character development.It is simply about survival. Fine acting especially from Tom Hardy as a RAF fighter pilot The rescue of over 300,00 soldiers helped the Allies prevent the Germans from taking Britain. Nolan at his best.

Outstanding picture quality and sound, you actually feel like you are there. There are several different time signatures taking place so the story is not linear. Recommend for fans of war movies

This movie appeals on so many levels of film appreciation, from the meticulous staging of view to the volume of story captured in imagery instead of scripted words. There is subtlety and understatement in so much of the movie that you don’t even realize how much the movie is resonating with feeling and emotion until you reach the end. A once in a lifetime movie experience.

Dunkirk is an amazing movie that makes you really feel like you are a part of the action. The action of the big screen translates well to your personal television via blu ray. The packaging is exceptional, as the steelbook is of very high quality with a very nice matte finish. I would recommend this product for any movie buff, collector, or fan of this amazing Nolan film.

AT FIRST IT WOULD NOT PLAY OR HAVE ANY VOULMUM WHEN FINALLY GOT ANOTHER IT FINALLYPLAYED IT WASN,T AS GOOD AS I THOUHT IT WOULD BE.

As a Christopher Nolan movie, the tension created is equal to any of his best movies. The feeling of a constantly ticking countdown adds to the piecemeal displacement of events. A brilliant class in telling a story the way it needs to be to told. A great companion is to pair with Darkest Hour, an Oscar winner for Gary Oldman's portrayal of Winston Churchill.

We are all history buffs in this family, so Dunkirk is a story that really appeals to us. This movie felt so real. There had to be incredible special effects, but it didn't have that unreal feel about it that often happens with fx. It was great to see before Darkest Hour. Helped you understand how it fit into Churchill's story and the turning of the tide for the war.

I had rented this when it was released and enjoyed it then. I couldn't believe it when the first gun shot totally took me by surprise. Boy did I jump ! To be in that position that the Brits. & the French were in on the beach is unimaginable . Sound & picture were great .This one is not to be missed.

I had not read any reviews of this movie prior to watching so I was not sure what I was getting into. After finishing the movie was when I realized I could only name one of the characters in the movie. It was a compelling movie, the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I do not see myself having repeat viewing due to the lack of attachment to the characters. The video and audio on the 4k disc is amazing as well.

The movie itself is brilliant in every way. It is an unconventional war film in the structure of the story. The 4K transfer is beautiful, but the film is sadly missing a Dolby Atmos soundtrack - a big miss. Even without it, the movie is presented beautifully and it's the best way to absorb this incredible movie.

I didn't get to see this film in the Cinema but I loved it for the home theatre. I only wish this film had either a Dolby Atmos or DTS:X audio soundtrack encoded on the 4K UHD BD release, but overall the 4K UHD picutre is pristine with HDR! Thanks Christopher Nolan for encouraging other future 4K UHD BD releases to not release in either Dolby Atmos or DTS:X!

Christopher Nolan certainly know how to put an excellent film together. Using multiple stories from the air, ground and sea provides a perfect perspective of that happened at Dunkirk. Also using multiple aspect ratios allows the viewers to hone in on a particular part of the storylines. The 4k presentation was excellent even with a dreary palette of colors.

The fact that the enemy is not seen until the final moments of this film says a great deal about what it sets out to achieve. It's not about glory in combat, brothers in arms, or grit in the face of enemy fire: it's about standing up and continuing to fight after a colossal defeat. What Chris Nolan and his crew recreated was nothing short of extraordinary!

I did not see this film in the theatre. This 4K Blu-Ray was my first viewing of it and I was not disappointed. The movie has a very British tone to it, as well it should. However, the story-line is universal and I enjoyed the film. I probably won't watch it over and over, but I will most certainly give it at least one more viewing in the not too distant future as there is a lot to take in with this one.

This was a very slow paced movie that I felt didn't really reflect what those military men really went through.

Dunkirk is an amazing movie. A movie with an amazing premise. Great cinematography, score, sound, and visuals. A very personal movie about survival that feels real. One of Christopher Nolan's best! Steelbook includes double blu ray, the movie and special features, as well as DVD and digital copy!

This film is an absolute modern masterpiece, directed by Christopher Nolan. The depth and dynamics of his vision for this oft told story project flawlessly on the screen. Mark Rylance is once again a scene stealer. The steelbook packaging is also great with beautiful cover art. There were a few minor dents at the bottom of the casing that I didn't notice with my in-store inspection, nonetheless I find it a good product.

Quite simply the best looking and best sounding film available on 4K UHD Disc. If you have a capable set up, but don't own this you need to get it. The movie is great and the quality is arguably the best out there right now. Nolan films his movies in IMAX to capture a ton of detail other filmmakers miss. I appreciate the detail in this.
