I think I went in with different expectations, very slow moving and was looking for more character development

I originally watched this movie in IMAX 70mm Film at the 1 movie theater in Los Angles is was play in that format and it was impressive. I figured that it would not hold up in the home theater but the sound it very emersive and the film transfer is perfect and it held up well on second viewing. If you are going to get this get it in Ultra HD 4K.

Breathtaking movie about the recovery of 400,000 British and French soldiers from Dunkirk, France in 1940. The large format filming makes all the details look terrific. This movie is all about how these brave soldiers survived to be rescued by a flotilla of private boats. If you like WW2 historical movies, then you’ll really enjoy this movie.

This movie told a simple story from several different directions....takes awhile to realize it's the same story.

Dunkirk is easily on of the best films of 2017, and Christopher Nolan's most technically-proficient productions to date. I've made a point of only purchasing steelbooks for the films I think are worthy, and I couldn't be happier with the build of the steelbook and the quality of the bluray transfer.

People actually complained about the high decibel volumes of the effects in this movie. How do you think the soldiers who experienced this or any other traumatic battle felt? Suck it up, immerse yourself, and experience it as much as face value entertainment will allow.

I can't say I was overly familiar with Dunkirk and what happened there as it wasn't something I heard to much about over the years (of course between this movie and the Darkest Hour, I'm pretty up to speed on things now). Overall this was a decent movie, the only real issue I had was with the way the movie was put together when the timeline of events skips around some, made it a bit hard to follow at times

The timeline is a little confusing at first, but on subsequent viewings it is rewarding to see how the scenes overlap each other (for example, a boat viewed from the pilot's view in the sky is later shown from the first-person view in the water later in the movie). You will only catch these details when you view the movie more than once.

Dunkirk is a pretty splid war type movie. Extra fun because its loosely based on actual events. Worth a watch for sure. I got the steelbook case which is always cool and fun to look at and feel. Blu ray disc is your standard HD experience which is always excellent. Would recommend.

This may be the best picture blu-ray has to offer. If you like IMAX-footage with theh screen filled, thhis is the one. This is the best looking Nolan film. The Imax footage has detail which goes on for days. THe sound is grat too. A real home theatre movie experiene.

Dunkirk in itself is a solid movie. Those who have the 4K equipment to watch this film on, you will enjoy both the picture and sound. The black levels are great and the colors are true with HDR enabled. The 4K version features Dolby Atmos, so it is loud. Overall, this is the best way to watch this film at home.

Dunkirk was a very emotionally moving experience to me. War was the testing ground for this country and it's beliefs which went to it's core. The 4K Video is really excellent but the Audio is Not Atmos per the movie director's intent however the Audio is still excellent. Worth a watch.

DUNKIRK is based on true events during a rescue event and tells three intertwined subplots . Stranded on a beach , Germans have surrounded English and French troops , who are being attacked by enemy planes , etc. Waiting for rescue boats to transport them across the channel , more and more soldiers and ships are being picked off.

This film is historically significant in many ways. It is essentially faithful in relating what actually occurred, it uses of real Spitfire fighters, & the dress, settings, boats, ships & equipment are all quite realistic. The individual story lines demonstrate the courage of ordinary people doing extraordinary, courageous acts.

This was a Quentin Tarantino style movie that was a good attempt to make the retreat at Dunkirk a thriller, and it succeeded never once do you feel hopeful even knowing the historical outcome. Not until the end do you get a sliver of hope but shadowed by the speech Winston Churchill.

This movie shows how things happend. No glam it up bull. It showed that WAR does make people do things they never would have done before, And yet how men can stand there ground. And still do there jobs while Death is facing them with almost no chanch of geting out Alive. Being kind of a history geek To me the movie was to short.

This movie was an eye opener when you view what was happening at the beginning of WW2 in Europe. The despair that was felt in the British and French armies on the beaches of Dunkirk and what the outcome would be if they could not be rescued really grabbed you. A really good movie.

    Another Nolan Masterpiece

This is not your typical WW II movie. Nolan subverts expectations by focusing on the event instead of the characters. The editing of the movie was weird since it made the sequences look out of place, but it all ties up at the end. The usage of sound/music is highly impressive, and it increases the tension. Great film!

You already know this is the best film of 2017. So why not watch it in glorious 4K in this meticulous transfer supervised by Chris Nolan if you're going to watch it again? You have no excuse not to.
