I had seen a lot of these external power banks, and I never really understood what they were for. Personally, I have a car charger and a charger at home and one that I carry in my bag when I go to work or class, so I am really never without charging capabilities. So I got this on a whim as it was less than $8 at my local Best Buy. After using it a couple of times just to try it out, I found that it does hold a charge for quite some time. I used it to charge my blackberry classic from approx 5%, and it charged it to about 75%. I really had no use for it after testing it, but my fiancé thought it would be something good to have in her purse because she doesn't carry an extra charger around. Last I knew she has yet to use it lol. It's not that I would recommend this to a friend, but seeing as how you can get a wall charger or a car charger for around $10, I would suggest to a friend of mine to pay the extra $2.

My sister was really wanting a portable charger, but didn't have a lot of birthday money left to spend. So I looked for the best, affordable charger I could find and this one fit the bill. We looked at many reviews to make sure that it wasn't going to be something that only lasted a few weeks. We ended up buying it when it was at its regular price, $7.99, and at the sale price, $1.99, and honestly I will probably buy it again and again for my friends. Insignia has had some of the best, most affordable, heavy-duty items and for the price especially this one does not disappoint. The battery on this one is slightly smaller than the average new phone, but when you need a boost it will give you it. The only problem we have had is that the first charge doesn't last very long and it takes a few uses to be at optimal performance, like most batteries. Overall a great buy that does not disappoint.

This made a great Gadget to have, the special price I paid because I took the time to sign up for daily E-Mails from Best Buy got me a 66% Discount for that one day! I ordered online and picked up three the next day! Talk about a deal, and instantly I had the extra power I needed to boost my phone back to a full charge in a matter of minutes with power to spare! I gave two to friends that were always carrying there charger when the stopped by and wanted to plug in before their phone died. I wish I had bought a dozen more at the time. While playing Pokemon Go with my kids it became apparent that I would need a charger on hand to keep my phone alive. I found inexpensive to costly chargers, one with all sorts of functions, multiple charges, sizes, etc. This charger ended up being the perfect solution. 1. It's expensive so I don't have to worry if I drop it, lose it, let it get borrowed. I actually got it BOGO, so it was even better. 2. It's small and lightweight. It fits easily in my purse and my pocket. It's not noticeable and so I can always have it on hand either always storing one in my purse or taking one on long walks through the parks without any bother. 3. It gives a full battery charge. I can either use it while playing on the go and it keeps my phone fully charged or use it when my battery is down to 20% and it will recharge the full to full plus keep it going for a while. It only does 1 full charge, but that is all I need and what I prefer rather then tracking how many charges I've used before charging. 4. It's easy to charge. After using it, I simply bring it in, plug it in, the light turns red, I let it charge while I sleep. In the morning the light is blue (signaling it's all done) and away we go. The charger is perfect for keeping handy and on the go full battery charging of my iPhone 6. Couldn't be happier.

I have an iPhone 6 and the battery has been dying really fast lately from too much use I guess. I bought a portable charger in case I was out and about and found my battery dead or on its last leg. Recently I was out around town in my wheelchair and got stuck in a spot where I wasn't near the public and reached for my phone and what do ya know it was on 2%. I plugged in the portable charger and voila it held a charge long enough to make the call I needed to my brother and stayed a steady charge for a good 35-40 minutes till I could get back home and charge my batteries again. A great price for peace of mind! I'm glad I bought this and had it when I needed it!

I purchased 2 of these, one for myself & the other for my daughter. We love it! It is small & light enough to keep in a purse or pocket and powerful enough to charge our phones in less time than the home chargers. It is small & powerful enough so my daughter can watch videos while its charging & it keeps the phones charged for hours. *** The only draw back is that the cord that comes with it is for Android phones & not iPhones & this is not noted on the packaging or in the description *** If you want to use it for an iPhone, you can purchase a small or retractable iPhone USB cable (I did on Amazon). It is for this reason that I am giving it a 4 star review instead of 5 stars.

The good part about this charger is how slim it is. It looks professional looking, it won't stand out in your bag or briefcase or with any of the stuff in your pocket. I wish it had a higher capacity, this would be great if it could reach 4000mAh or even 5000mAh, then it would be perfect. It doesn't have many indicator lights, but you will know when it has charge and when it doesn't. The USB cable is also worth mentioning because its just the right length that I would want, nothing too long or too short. And the cable feels like it has a better construction that other power banks, so it can take some twist and turns inside the pocket.

My daughter and I needed a couple of portable chargers for our iPhones, since we are away from electrical outlets a lot of the time. At $8 apiece, these are very inexpensive, but I found they work exceptionally well. We charge them overnight, and in the morning drop them in our pack/purse, and when our iPhones get low on charge, we just plug them into our phones and we can continue to talk/text/stream for hours while the charger is actually charging the phone. Have not yet found out the maximum time the charger will allow the phone to operate since we have not come close to using the entire charge. A very good investment, especially in case of emergency. The only drawback is that you have to use your own charging cord for your iPhone, which tends to be a bit long. However, I was able to purchase a 4" USB to lightning connector cord, which works really well. It cost as much as the charger, but overall, still a bargain.

On several occasions I have been caught off guard with my iPhone almost out of power and nowhere to re-charge it. This compact portable charger is just what I needed. It did not come with instructions, and I couldn't find any on line. However, an e-mail to Best Buy Customer Service helped immeasurably. They said to plug it into an outlet (with an adapter) and the cable provided. The light will turn RED while it is charging and then BLUE when it is fully charged. I was reminded that at only 2000mAH it has limited power and may not be suitable for all devices. I was, however able to bring my iPhone to 100% from 30% in less than 1 1/2 hr. I keep this power pak along with my iPhone's USB cable in a small zippered cosmetic bag in my handbag when leaving home. If kept fully charged, this back-up power source will continue to be there for me in an emergency.

The size of the charger is great (it fits even in a very small purse - although not quite clutch size as its a little fat for those). But, it does the job and we have several of them stashed in our cars for when we are on the go and need them. The only gripe I have is knowing if you can turn them 'off' to save energy. Its just 1 button and a few lights, and given we want to conserve the charge, I am not quite sure if the unit is turned 'off' once it disconnects from a device, or if you need to press the button again. But, given we typically use it until the charger has completely charged our needed device, its really not an issue.

I purchased this for my girlfriend who's phone is always running out of power. She has already used this device several times and had no problems at all. She runs out of power by the end of the day, but with this device she can keep her busy day going. It is also great for emergencies if you do not have a power source available. Can use your phone or tablet while charging and it charges fully in about 30 minutes. For the price you can't beat it, especially if emergency power is needed! It was a very inexpensive great gift!

I was not familiar with this type product until I was sharing with a friend In Another state how inconvenient it was when I was recently visiting my daughter ..she dropped me off at the mall in her city..she left to do some banking..assuming we would communicate via cell phone when I was ready for pick up....unbeknowing to either of us, my cell phone was low on charge and eventually died before my daughter got back...after not knowing what to do I eventually just went and sat on a bench near the entrance my daughter had dropped me off at....she eventually drive around and found me there.....after sharing this story with my friend , she informed me of the power bank and said she carries several in her purse for emergencies as mines...needless to say I immediately ordered several..was very please and now have several for Christmas presents for co workers.....I highly recommend this product...

I bought two of these to keep in backpacks in case my phone charge gets low and I'm not near a power outlet to recharge it. The portable chargers are small and light and relatively inexpensive (very inexpensive when on sale). They will not fully recharge your phone; but, they will allow a partial charge. They work well for their intended use. It would be nice if they had a flashlight function; but, they are perfectly acceptable without it.

So there are many products in the market that charges your phone now in days. This Dynex external battery charger is no different. A very simple to use charger that quickly chargers my iphone faster then my standard light speed cable at home or my car charger. I only paid $2.05 for this even if it didnt work as well as it does only 2 bucks I can't complain. The only real drew back to this product is if you try to use it for example watching video content while charging it has some kind of auto shut off feature that stops charging your device. Still overall worth buying.

I like this portable charger. It is the right size to carry in my pocket. The adapter cable is a very good size. I hve had others in which the cable is so small it is a joke. Small cable length makes it hard to use/charge phone at the same time. My only complaint is that when it is cold outside it seems to charge more slowly, but that is ok. Fully charges my phone which is what it is meant to do...If I can get 1 full charge a day that meets my needs. This can charge 1+ ....Priced right too. A good affordable choice.

I purchased this for my daughter's new iPhone 6. She uses her phone heavily, so this charger is good for extending the life of her phone. It won't recharge fully from a dead phone, but it works great for extending the life of a batter on a low phone. It will bring a dead phone back to life, just not to a full charge - at least not our phones. It is small enough to carry even in a pocket, but definitely fits a backpack/book bag pocket. It's great to have on hand when you forget to recharge at night. You can just grab it & go for the day, especially when you won't have access to a standard wall charger. We also have a larger unit that will recharge the phone completely, but it is less convenient (and more expensive). This is a nice inexpensive solution to carry and if ultimately lost, it's no big deal.

I never thought a mobile charger could be so awesome! It only cost me $4 at the time and I think it's gone back to $8 since then, but it's still totally recommendable. It charges up my phone pretty quickly although not all the way to 100%. That's actually alright by me i get home before my phone gives me a second scare. It's small 2 so if you need to carry more than 1 it's pretty easy to do. I have a small pocket in my backpack dedicated for all my stuff like headphones, USB for different classes, and there's still more than enough room for a 2nd or 3rd one in there. It's 2,000mah so don't expect it to pack as big a punch charging up an iPad. Mine only inches about 20% with this. Still it comes in handy when I need to take my tablet to class and I forget to charge it. It takes the anxiety out of life.

I’ve always wanted charger because I’m often out and my phone needs charged but I don’t have my cord plug ... these were a little bigger than I thought they would be but I charged it overnight (because no direction were with it) and I’ve tried it and it seems to work fine ... I have not ran phone down and then seen how full it would charge my phone yet ... will have to do that soon.... I wanted them for when we ave storms or owner outages so I can always keep my phone charged!! I actually bought a grey and pink :)

I bought a few of these chargers on black Friday as stocking-stuffers. One school morning before Christmas, my daughter forgot to charge her phone (on a day where she had to stay after school). I pulled this out of the package and gave it to her to take to school. It gave her an 70% charge (without being pre-charged). I have since run a test on my own phone (galaxy S5) after fully charging this charger. I got about ~80% charge on my phone. Will have to see how it holds up over time. Pleased with this so far. Good value for the price.
