It does charge, but it won’t sync my new iPad Pro to a new MacBook Air. Unfortunately the cable I got from Best Buy was not a new product. The plastic package had been cut open by the previous owner and the cable squeezed back without a cable tie-wrap. It’s barely good enough to keep and not worth recommending.

That is my experience too. They barely handle normal charging, and frequently return a slow charging error, even with phone's OEM charger. People claiming "fast charging" are either clueless or lying. These are as cheap and glitchy as Amazon Basics' crummy cables.
