I haven't had any issues with the charger and fits nicely and compactly into the 12v power port without being intrusive to passengers. We have this installed in the rear seat area.

These things are relatively inexpensive and I have never had a problem with them in my car. I usually keep a spare in the car just in case my wife or son lose theirs and take mine.

I purchased two of these and they work great. You must have your own USB/phone connection cord. The price was great as I purchased in the store and they were on sale.
