I purchased this as a gift for my girlfriend because she complains about the cold. The heating function is great. I would have liked the cooling function to be cold, but as far as cool, it is cool. The fan is amazingly quiet but still effective. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a space heater.

To have not just a cooling fan,but a cold one, and have heat also. It will cool down my living room 2 degrees in less than 7 minutes. The heat brings it up in less time, and doesn't stay on it has a thermostat on it! We love it!

I purchased my first Dyson heater for my daughter to use in their family room. It does a nice job of heating the room. My 13 yr old grandson goes down to play his video games and loves it. So I purchased one for myself as I have a cooler room in my house. Does a fantastic job. I purchased the blue and silver for my daughter and the nickel for myself. Very sleek looking.

I plugged the unit in, turned up the heat to 70 at power level 5. Within 5 minutes, the unit shut off with an E7 error. Called customer service, was told that the unit needed to be calibrated. The rep walked me through calibrating it by setting it for 32 degrees and letting it run for 5 minutes. Unit didn't shut off.. thought it was fixed. I was wrong.. set it to 70 and once again got the E7 error. Called customer service back and was informed the E7 error was because the unit was not getting enough power and it needed to be calibrated for a heat setting. Was told to move the unit to another room, set it to 99 degrees and power level 10. This room only had 1 light in it.. power was not an issue. Ran fine. Moved the unit back to the original room and got the E7 error again. Called Customer service and was told the E7 error was because the unit was getting TOO MUCH power and to plug it into an outlet that was sharing with other plugs. (I did this by accident the first day and it flipped the circuit breaker for the room.. so I knew it wasn't a too much power issue.) After three calls with conflicting information and conflicting resolutions, I decided to return the fan. Which is too bad because for the 3 minutes it worked, I liked it.

As all stain products I have experienced using this lives up to expectations. It is a bit noisy but it is well worth it for the level of cool the fan brings and how quickly it can beat up my office space.

I love things that show great engineering. Nice thing is it has a remote. Its does make noise, but I think the function is incredible.

my expectations for this thing were way too high. If you want to spend $400 to loudly push around warmish air then buy it. I was actually more cold with this thing blowing on me at full speed and 99 degrees than I was before I turned it on. Ridiculous product at a ridiculous price.

This is what I wrote to Dyson Customer Service: Because I was so impressed and enjoyed and still enjoy using my Dyson Vacuum (DC44 Animal), I thought I would be equally impressed with your fan heater. I purchased an AM05 Hot + Cool™ Fan Heater White/Silver and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. I have only used it as a fan so far and I did buy it for its dual purpose as a heater. I will try it as a heater this winter. However, I don't know how I can possibly enjoy it because it will still be the unacceptably loud fan it is now. It won't be less loud because I turn the heat on. I have a cheap Optimus 2 foot tall tower fan I bought for $25 that moves just as much air as my AM05 and makes less noise on high than the AM05 makes on setting number 1. The AM05 may be a terrific product in all other ways but if I had known how loud it is, I would not have bought it. Regardless of how it performs otherwise, it will still be a poor quality product because of the noise. I should have read more reviews before the purchase. I put it at my work space, only 1 foot away from my chair and I still don't feel warm after 2 hours. If put further, what i get is cold air blowing towards me. I am yet to find out if the cold air works during this summer. Now I am not satisfy with it as a heater at all.

Nice designer, good cooler and heater. great to control the speed.

I would not recommend this product. I very much wanted to like this fan but when you pay $300 plus for a fan, it should blow some air. At speed 5 or over, it is very loud. You cannot sleep. As far as heat is concerned, its a OK not worth $300. I returned mine next day.
