I contacted Dyson, and they are sending me a remote. I'll revisit this two star review once I receive it. I'm not sure whether Best Buy sold me a return that someone took the remote from, or if it wasn't included at the factory. I suspect it was the former. Dyson customer service was pleasant and easy to deal with.

Our AM06 Air Multiplier is our newest machines that have been re-engineered to be up to 75% quieter and more energy efficient without compromising performance. The fan has re-engineered airflow paths for reduced air turbulence. This makes it quieter and more energy efficient. The machines have a number of new features such as remote control, sleep timer and improved oscillation. A high velocity jet of air exits the loop amplifier and creates an area of low pressure that draws in air from behind the fan. I hope the information provided proved helpful. Not a good bedroom type fan

Why do all manufactures have to have a light on every device?? We bought this fan for a bedroom fan. Highly recommend not getting this fan if that is what you are needing or wanting it for. There is a reason this is called a desktop fan, you do not want to use it as a nighttime sleeping fan. The power light is so bright it will keep you awake. For the bright light, remote not working, poor air flow, and the price, we boxed it up and it went back to the store.

I have the fan across the room to cool my small bedroom I'm the summer time. I was tempted to,step up and get the bigger unit- but the price of it threw me off from the purchase. This fan though does not disappoint. Fantastic fan. It looks very very good- and it feels very durable. I to had a problem thinking...over $200 bucks for a fan... Wow. But like everything you get what you pay for. This thing keeps me cool on the warmest of days so far. My only gripe is I wish it was a tad bit more powerful. This fan is unlike any other because it actually keeps my whole room cool. It's not like a regular fan where it just keeps the direction it's pointing in cool. It actually cools the whole room. I highly recommend this. Also. The black and nickel version is gorgeous. Looks really really beautiful and performs as well as it looks. The remote control added function is also really fantastic. It is magnetic so when you are not using it- you can attach the remote to the top of the fan. I turn my fan on low and oscillate it when I am not home. I come home to the whole room being nice and cool. Then when I want to go to bed- bam. Point that thing right at me and turn it up to 10. Makes for a great night sleep. Buy it. You will not regret purchasing this. You really do get what you pay for with this fan. Dyson makes great products and are well known for a reason. Their design, quality, and performance are worth every penny. I will purchase more of their products as long as I continue to have good success with their products.

Finding the Perfect Fan

I first purchased the Vornado - 154 Tower Circulator Fan but it was too loud and didn't oscillate. Then I bought the Honeywell - QuietSet Whole Room Tower Fan. That fan was powerful, quiet and oscillated but made a creaking noise when it did. I returned the first two fans and purchased the Dyson. I love this fan, it does everything I want it to do and does it well. Okay, you will have to pay a hefty price for having the sexiest fan in town. If that doesn't bother you than this is the fan for you, and me too!

The setting range way up to 10 which is very breezy. The oscillating is perfect. Love the remote control feature because it can be controlled from the bedside. PROS: quiet, great gentle breeze, easy to operate, good coverage of a room or area, attractive, light, no dangerous blades spinning around, good high an low angling CONS: pricey, control light is waaaay too bright..lights up the bedroom (we ended up putting a paper plate ! around it to block it).

The fan it's amazing, it's stylish, the air feels like a nice cold breeze. I like the controller, it's also stylish and small. I was hesitant to buy it after watching and reading some reviews online regarding the remote and fan features. I found out that if the remote breaks or get lost, you can buy it for 19.99 on dyson.com also, you can actually control the intensity (up and down) holding the power button (great technology) . This fan is well design and it's worth it. I see it like my blender (a Blendtec) which I paid $450 for and was hesitant to buy at the beginning and after having it for a while I see that it's worth every penny.

Posted .AM06 uses an aerodynamic diffuser that separates airflow into controlled paths, creating a more efficient journey to the loop. It also has no blades and uses Air Multiplier technology to give an uninterrupted stream of air that does not buffet you. The blades on conventional fans cause unpleasant buffeting because they chop the air before it hits you. We would like to learn more about your experience. After fifth day purchased remote control not work. I call to Best Buy costumer service a rude representative just answer that "they can't do anything " . What about my warranty?

Attach two pieces, turn, click, and plug in -Fan speed settings (10# -Magnet at the top of the fan to hold the remote in place -Warranty #2yr# *I'd like to see the fan host the following features: -Bluetooth -Wi-Fi -Oscillate up and down#as is oscillates side to side# -Price #could be a little more reasonable with this) Overall this is a Great fan. My wish list may seem a bit farfetched or futuristic, however, if the Dyson fan is to be sleek, modern, stylish, and somewhat the Future of Fan's, then I'd like to see my wish list incorporated into them in the near future. Would I recommend this fan to my friends? Sure. Again, overall, it's a Great Fan.

Thank you for providing this review. Sorry to hear the AM06 desk fan does not seem suitable for your tropical environment. This machine provides 97.7 gallons of uninterrupted airflow each second without the buffeting effect of standard household fans. In addition to this, it is 75% quieter than previous models and consumes 30% more power. As it is a desk fan, it is mainly used for cooling in close proximity. However, we do offer larger tower fans such as the AM07 that might be more suited to your environment.
