The only purpose of the fan is to move air. Luckily, this fan is very good at doing what is designed to do. My favorite thing about the fan is how quiet it is. Nothing I hate more than the monotone drone of a loud fan. I understand the design concept is to be streamlined and clean, however after a few months of use, the biggest complaint I have is related to the controller. The buttons are small and offer no tactile response. In the dark, I can't determine the orientation of the controller and therefore have problems finding the correct buttons. The controller does not light up. The timer and the fan speed are located adjacent to one another and are in the exact configuration. Often, I indent to adjust the fan speed and unknowinly set the timer. It can be a frustrating experence to wake up with the fan off and feeling overheated. I would not spend that amount of money on this fan again. I would pay 1/2 to 2/3 the price to get a version with an upgraded control system (perhaps wifi/sync). And, it should go without saying, that girlfriend that so freely spent my money is no longer.

Our AM07 Air Multiplier is our newest machines that have been re-engineered to be up to 75% quieter and more energy efficient without compromising performance. The fan has re-engineered airflow paths for reduced air turbulence. This makes it quieter and more energy efficient. The remote control works from a distance of up to approximately 4 metres. The machine can still be operated without a remote, albeit with reduced functionality. Pressing the power button will turn the machine on and off. If you press and hold the power button, the airflow setting will increase up to 10, before reducing back to 1. We are continuing to upgrade our designs on our machines throughout the years. We like the magnetic remote BUT why white-on-white markings? Makes it hard to use correct button. Trying to look like iFan? Excellent even with high cost.

A piece of the finger guard on the old fan had broken off, allowing finger access to the spinning blades. The Dyson fan will never have that problem. We had been considering the Dyson for some time. but the high price was a deterrent. When Best Buy offered a discount, it was time to buy. The price was still high, but we don't know how else to get a fan like this one. It is quiet enough and powerful enough for our needs, and there is no way a kid can stick their finger or any other object into the blades. We also like the way the remote sticks to the top of the fan, making it easier to keep track of.

However, one hot day, I turned on the fan and it was blowing hot air. I was so disappointed because it has great coverage, power, easy to clean, but it does not cool the air. For the price of the equipment you would think it would separate itself from the competition (other electric fans) by cooling the air. You still need to purchase an air conditioner to get that cool air on a hot day. In conclusion, it is a regular fan that is easier to clean with a bit more power (not worth the price).

The fan is designed to pull the air from the room and then expel the air through the loop amplifier providing a gentle flow of air that will flow further than a traditional fan. The bladeless design is so convenient! The bladeless design eliminated my periodically task of disassembling the grill and cleaning the blades from my previous Vornado fans. I just wished the electric cord was the same color as the fan instead of the grey color it has.
