Wish you could switch between using the fan and the filter. Would like to use it when windows and doors are open without filtering the air at the same time. Bummed about the lack of feature

I do not recommend this item. Although I have always liked this company for other products, this is not something i would recommend. It did not feel sturdy and it was in the way.
